Lakeland carpet spot cleaner. We have trails of something wet on the landing and in the dining room. Cleaned them up with minimal effort and no scrubbing. It also made cleaning up after my daughter vomited so much easier. There are 4 different modes depending what you are doing. Hygienic works well on vomit.

Mine too! I still wear them permanently round the house as slippers and have a pair of the fluffy lined ones for winter too. I'll never be without them, my PF was absolute hell.

yes PF is agony. I had a job where I was constantly on my feet and needed a walking stick until I tried crocs. For those reading, must be real croslite crocs in the fugly clog style. I tried the lined ones but found that my toes wore the lining off really quickly. Great offers on ebay at the moment, no I am not selling them but have just stocked up on my favourite style and colour.

Also, my PotGang subscription - has bought me so much joy now that we have moved to our new home and have a garden.

also my terracotta bread warmer - that was a charity shop find.

my shark steam pick up. Saves all the hassle of the ‘sweep, hoover, mop, then hoover up all the extra bits the mop dregs up from god knows where’

Could you tell me which shark steamer you have? Or is it just literally called the ‘Shark Steam Pickup’? I want one but I keep reading mixed reviews!

crocs fixed my plantar fasciitis and I won't hear a word said against them.

Same - absolutely life changing.

Shark SteamPickUp Hard Floor Cleaner SD200UK

shop around though. I got mine with £30 off in vouchers from TikTok official shark shop. I got it as a replacement for my shark kick and flip steam mop as I’d lost the parts in a move and thought I’d get something different - it’s so much better and easier to use. I’m a big fan of shark products and have the self emptying cordless vacuum for my daily whizz around and the bigger corded lift away for a deep clean.

Table top dishwasher for my tiny kitchen (life saver, as I am disabled, and standing to wash up used to be difficult), chopped, frozen onions and garlic (for the same reason) and a silent night heat genie self-heating blanket.

I agree with pp who aren't snag fans, especially for their chub rub shorts - I have recently found some 'bands' which do the job well, without all the extra material making you too warm!

Snap to all these! (Similarly disabled). I also recommend a Judge potato tumbler (peeler) for white and sweet potatoes. I call it the 'Spudinator'.

Lovelyview · 08/06/2026 12:05

Thistle-proof gardening gloves. They make me so happy 😁

ThatMintMember · 08/06/2026 12:28

A Shark robot vaccum for downstairs and a Shark normal vaccum for upstairs which has a dock that it empties into meaning you only need to empty it every 3 months!

I'm pregnant and they have saved me a lot of work recently when I'm low on energy! I can chill on the sofa while the downstairs gets hoovered 😀

Can you recommend one please?
Rice is the one thing I can't cook! Spend a fortune on those horrid plastic pouches

I learned this method from my friend (sorry if you've heard it already)
First rinse the rice three times, I just swill in the pan, drain, repeat
Then add to pan 2 cups water to 1 cup rice
Bring to a boil then reduce low and put lid on
The rice steams instead of boils then (put need to keep en eye to make sure it doesn't burn off)

I've always cooked perfect rice by just adding loads of boiling water, boiling it for the correct time, then rinsing it in a sieve with a whole kettle of boiling water. Then pop the sieve into the pan and put the lid on, so that the rice steams dry for three minutes or so.

theruffles · 08/06/2026 12:46

Audible subscription - I didn't think I'd use it much after the first book I was interested in listening to but I use it every day. I don't always have time to sit and read so having audio books on while I'm working or in the car is brilliant.

Snag Chub Rub shorts. My mum calls them "passion killers" but they're a game changer. I don't feel uncomfortable on super hot days anymore!

Keep Cup - I got this as a birthday present to myself and I love how it feels in my hands. I take it to work and on days out and it helps cut down on waste from takeaway cups but it just makes me happy.

Coverless duvets for the children

weighted blanket for my adhd husband

Cupboard drying rack - godsend

stair basket for anything that needs to be taken upstairs (usually hair bobbles and little toys or doll shoes) all go in on one swoop

cordless vacuum- game changer if you haven’t got one

dewy setting spray for my make up - looking like I have glass skin all year around

scented tumble dryer sheets in sofa cushions

silk sheets

fountain pen - my writing looks all fancy

face tan drops

my mum keeps going on about her slide on sketchers

fairy liquid there is just no other brand that works the way it does

I wish MN had a link option that would click in when a product is named ... something to work on MN HQ ..

Do you have a link for this one?

dewy setting spray for my make up - looking like I have glass skin all year around

Thank you MN for another great thread!

I do this, it never fails but I don't rinse, I always buy long grain easycook.

Sage Barista Pro, spenny but👌

I have this, it's my baby and I would genuinely be lost without it.

Membership of English Heritage, Historic Houses, and the National Trust.

I am old. Oh, wait - I also love my new wireless headphones. Does that mean I'm not...?

I keep reading that the cool kids are wearing wired headphones now, I'm afraid.

Omg that’s genius could you please post the details. Sick of waking up to my kitchen looking like an abattoir.

Cats shouldn't be left out at night! This is why neighbours get upset, the killing of early birds, pooing in gardens, caterwauling.

Be a responsible owner.

The new HUDA beauty loose powder.
Been absolutely brilliant at smoothing out my makeup finish, keeping my face from looking too shiny and disguises my ever increasingly sized pores. As an added bonus it smells lovely too.

What's the name of the powder?
I'm a bit of a beauty fanatic! Is it the easy bake? Just because you mentioned it's new? Thanks.

GreenCaterpillarOnALeaf · 08/06/2026 13:37

Dishwasher. Finally got one a few years ago and this year I got my mum one as part of her b day present (I’ve also got her fun stuff too, but she’s wanted one for a while). She’s absolutely buzzing after 50 odd years of hand washing.

Smaller things -
Pret 99p filter coffees. I wouldn’t get a full priced coffee out it seems a bit frivolous but 99p I can absolutely do.
Portable Salt and Pepper grinders (they’re small and hand bag sized).
Also got a proper good lunchbox for myself that keeps my scran nice and cold. Also got one for DH.

My most favourite purchases are:
We recently got a new kitchen and installed our first ever dishwasher - I genuinely never understood people's love for them - now I do!
Quooker tap - as above

Recently got HRT too which has also been a game changer

Sorry mine are boring, I don't use tiktok or IG so not into the influencer culture

I do however that my friends why are all rave about some crazy expensive hairbrush

There is nothing boring about HRT! I went back on it recently after an 18 month break (had been on it almost 10 years when I stopped). I got to the point where I didn't care what the increased risks of breast cancer were; I was happy to accept them not to have such awful disturbed sleep.

lopit98 · 08/06/2026 13:48

why is everyone so obsessed with cooking rice ? not a knock, more of an observation. We have rice at home once a month maybe .

GameOfJones · 08/06/2026 13:50

Things that I would (or do) immediately replace are:

Coverless duvets for everyone. DH and I have the Night Lark ones, DDs have cheaper versions from ASDA.

Sage coffee machine. I would immediately replace it if it broke. Despite being expensive, I reckon it will have made back the money we were spending on takeaway coffee in less than a year.

shared a Brand Store on Amazon with you. www.amazon.co.uk/stores/AristaAyurveda/page/4E46376E-9556-42D4-8FF7-24C8F0EB53E4?lp_context_asin=B0GC7PPM8T&store_ref=bl_ast_dp_brandlogo_sto&ref_=cm_sw_r_apann_ast_store_9T4T7VEEHY82PHHRK6HT Arista shampoo bar. My hair was so oily that it still looked greasy even immediately after washing it. I swapped my liquid shampoo to a the oil control version of this and it immediately sorted the problem and made my hair feel properly clean.

Sanctuary or Rituals body lotion mousse. So lightweight it soaks in almost instantly which means I actually use it every day after a shower.

These Skechers walking sandals. They feel like walking on clouds!

I like rice. its a fast and simple carb that is easy to cook and easy to flavour.

Oooh which one please. Have been through about 5 of the damn things recently trying to find one which actually works.

I use this one.....Lantana Can Opener (Smooth Edge) with Bottle Cap Lifter - Hand Held Manual Safety Tin Opener - Black/Stainless Steel. Amazon

No sharp edges on can or lid!
But you do need to be able to twist the handle.

pontipinemum · 08/06/2026 14:25

An adult size towel poncho - like the childrens one.

I hate getting dressed while I am still damp and usually take 20 mins to feel dry enough. This can just be put on and off I go (inside)

I agree on the Snag bras. I bought one to try and then went and bought four more in different colours. I threw most of my old torture bras away! For ladies with big boobs, these wireless bras are a revelation!

Do the Snag bras give you monoboob?
