This sounds amazing. I've been toying with a rice cooker but it needs to earn it's keep! Do you know what model you have? How many portions does it do? Thanks ❤️

Just go for a cookworks or similar. I've been using rice cookers for 20 years. Always the cheapest and they're brilliant.

BoogieVoogieAllNightLong · 08/06/2026 08:28

An oil spray bottle. Sounds stupid but it's great. So much easier than brushing oil on things and it sprays FAR better than the ones you buy in the supermarket already filled. Plus no weird additives. It was less than a tenner too!

Crocs (and I have charms too), I know, I know 🙈 the style and beauty crew will come for me. But damn, they are so bloody comfy.

crocs fixed my plantar fasciitis and I won't hear a word said against them.

I got a device for my cat flap that locks the flap when it detects my cats have prey in their mouth. Best purchase ever (although not cheap)

Oh my gosh. I need this so badly!!

Ha ha what a coincidence.... i saw cyberjammies for the first time the other day and was really impressed with the beautiful designs and now reading you saying they are comfy....im definitely going to get some. They look fantastic.

another bote for cyberjammies. I lived in them when I had shingles

Heat pump tumble dryer! Was shocked by how little electricity it uses and dries clothes well. It’s paying for itself basically 😁

also bean to cup coffee machine, couldn’t be without it now.

M&S pjs are lovely at the moment. Melatonin you can buy online if GP is reluctant, they don’t restrict it in the US and there appears to be no restrictions on import.

As a long term melatonin user - the stuff you buy from piping rock is completely different to XR from a doctor. I find it doesn’t help, but XR sends me to sleep and keeps me asleep

A 2nd 3d printer. We are a ND household and I do a lot of tiny things to make things run smoothly. A 3d printer is a revelation and now I don’t have as much of a bottleneck.

Do you mind explaining a bit more? I’m intrigued!

A pizza oven from Lidl. I didn't want to spend loads of money, and it wasn't expensive. Love homemade pizza, but evenin the hottest setting and using a baking stone, they were always a bit soggy in the middle. Now have perfect , authentic tasting pizzas, cooked in five minutes, and no soggy middles!

It is this one :

I think it is designed to fit into an IBC. Comes with a clip so you just clip to edge of water butt and get on with watering. We use it at allotment to water from stream which is down a fair bit from main plot and it does really well. We get about 20 mins from the battery which is enough to top up Waterbutt there and top up the pond. A lot to spend but having read reviews I felt if going to do it then wanted a decent one .

An air con unit
And these neck cooler things that you put in the freezer

I don't get on with snag tights, I don't understand the love for them. Mine tore in seconds. I also got persuaded by those shorts they sell to wear under skirts and I don't get the appeal they just made me horribly hot and sweaty

Edited

Try Better Tights. I had the same with Snag; Better Tights are great.

Smallorveryfaraway · 08/06/2026 09:27

@RonaldMcDonaldTrump I bought Dove scalp + hair therapy, and Wella Deluxe rich oil for dry hair. The serum is the OGX bond protein repair sealing serum. I'm alternating between them, the Wella one I think is the richest, the the Dove one is a bit lighter.
The oil I already had and wasn't using was Milkshake incredible oil. This one is the lightest.
I do think I'm seeing less shedding, though excessive shedding isn't really my issue, it's growing it back after normal shedding that seems to be a problem for me, and I think my strands are thinner. I'm trying to treat it more gently
I might be brave and try minoxidil later this year.

Pizza dough: 🍕
300g white bread flour
1x 7g packet of yeast
1 tsp salt
1 tbsp olive oil
200ml warm water
I throw this into the bread maker on dough setting which takes 1hr30.

It makes 2x large pizzas or 3x medium. For the sauce I use passata with garlic and onions, sprinkle some oregano, basil and black pepper. Grated cheese and any toppings.

Bake for 12mins in a 200c oven

If you give it a try, let me know how it works for you.

I coat the pizza dough in semolina, bake for 6/7 minutes and then put the toppings on the pizza

the semolina gives the pizza great flavour

I also make a non tomato based pizza using gently poached mushrooms and garlic butter then add cheese of choice - have used blue, cheddar and mozzarella and all taste good

I have a rice cooker too! We bought it after going to Japan last year and I love it. My Japanese friend recommended the Tiger, but those ones are at least £150 and I decided that was a bit steep, since we don't eat rice every day, so I got the YumAsia Panda.

I’d like the Tiger but I also got the YumAsia panda one , a fab wee thing .
I appreciated the rice cookers in the houses we rented in Japan 🇯🇵 made things easy

A trip to Italy at half-term with my teenager
Over 700£ but so amazing spending time bonding.
Priceless really.

I went to Napoli in 2023 (the same time they won the cup for the first time in 30 years, so it was electric in atmosphere) with my dd2 who was carefree and just into a new relationship and we had such a great time. It's lovely as she looked after me on the trip as much as I looked after her and we had an absolute ball. Happy memories

Also, my PotGang subscription - has bought me so much joy now that we have moved to our new home and have a garden.

also my terracotta bread warmer - that was a charity shop find.

my shark steam pick up. Saves all the hassle of the ‘sweep, hoover, mop, then hoover up all the extra bits the mop dregs up from god knows where’

crocs fixed my plantar fasciitis and I won't hear a word said against them.

I've recently come to the realisation that I probably have plantar fascitis and find crocs a must as well, especially first thing in the morning.
I bought crocs slippers the other day and so far so good.

LancashireButterPie · 08/06/2026 10:13

Cheap as chips, Karrimor lightweight Orthofit trainers £18 in Sports direct are the most comfortable things I've ever put on my feet.
Bought them just for using at my employers allotment but I'm wearing them all the time and they have cured plantar fascitis.

Imperial leather shower foam (£2.50) creamier and smells nicer than my rituals stuff.

Ooh tell me more about this please! Could it be used on a patio?

Yes, but it wouldn’t be as powerful as a mains pressure washer, and would only last until the battery needs recharging. However, it’s much quicker to set up and powerful enough for my needs. I did blast away some birdy poo from my patio, which worked well. There are 2 versions on the Ryobi website - I bought the more powerful one - and you can attach it to a hose, or just a bucket of water for smaller jobs.

Mine too! I still wear them permanently round the house as slippers and have a pair of the fluffy lined ones for winter too. I'll never be without them, my PF was absolute hell.

LancashireButterPie · 08/06/2026 10:16

Oh and an enormous stainless steel steamer, big enough to cope with Sunday dinner for 8. Bargain at £24 from Asda and it replaces using 4 hob burners, so it's eco too.
