IPL machine. It was a bit of an expense but it has actually worked and completely worth it to stop me feeling so self conscious and also save me so much time not having to wax/epilate/cream.

Mine took.. changed my life. Wouldn't be without.

Sweetstreams · 07/06/2026 21:55

A mattress hoover
a steamer
Philips Lumea laser
decent skin care la Roche posay game changer

Dontgetitt · 07/06/2026 22:00

A pressure cooker/air fryer. Don’t understand by everyone doesn’t use one

BagthorpeSaga · 07/06/2026 22:03

Festival tickets!
And on a more humble note - I love buying really fancy toilet paper & kitchen roll.
For some reason this really cheers me up !

suki1964 · 07/06/2026 22:14

I have just bought a starter kit from Tru Wash

Its amazing

We are clearing mums rooms out , and there is a lot of cleaning to be done, and its leaving the place sparkling and the smell of the disinfectant makes we want to eat it

Sage Barista - I refuse to buy coffee outside the home

Laura Geller - made up enough in 2 mins without looking dried out and haggard

Wow, this sounds brilliant! Does it actually work?

OMG jumping on to say these absolutely work!

We had bats, frogs, pigeons, sparrows, mice, fuck-off huge rats that I don’t even know how she dragged them in .. and now… several months in the little bastard appears to have given up trying to bring prey in. Hurrah! It was disgustingly messy 🤮 as she mainly
liked to see how far she could smear her prey over the carpet.

As a side bonus.. You also get to see how often neighbouring cats try to come in AND it gives you peace of mind if you are away because you know when your lil treasure is coming in and out( if it gets their belly leaving the cat flap on camera). You just need a chip cat flap, a socket and a phone 👌🏻

A trip to Italy at half-term with my teenager
Over 700£ but so amazing spending time bonding.
Priceless really.

More clothes baskets so place is less of a mess between drying!

What do you mean about between drying? And what are the baskets like?

mommatoone · 07/06/2026 22:18

GiaGia16 · 06/06/2026 23:42

I got a device for my cat flap that locks the flap when it detects my cats have prey in their mouth. Best purchase ever (although not cheap)

My goodness can you please post the details! My cat has brought all sorts in (dead & alive) .normally left as a gift outside my bedroom door🙈

Dazedanddiscombobulated · 07/06/2026 22:20

My Snoozeband Silk sleep mask.

MrCollinsandhisboiledpotatoes · 07/06/2026 22:26

ParagonPark · 07/06/2026 17:15

Silk pillowcases! I thought it was an old wives tale, but they do actually stop my hair going into a crumpled frizz. You can get cheap ones on Amazon that are perfectly fine.

Ooh I'd like to add silk bonnets for my daughter's hair.
I can't believe I didn't think of them sooner. Mornings are so much smoother without all the tangles and fuss!!

Just where I previously had overflowing baskets of clothes in from the line that need to go into the dryer, I now have more baskets, and in bright colours😉

Miffyontour · 07/06/2026 22:30

Crocs (and I have charms too), I know, I know 🙈 the style and beauty crew will come for me. But damn, they are so bloody comfy.

Are you not concerned about the amount of wildlife your animal, with it's hugely unnatural advantage, is killing, and how much it's disrupting the local ecosystem?
So many bat species are endangered and birds species are under threat because of cats.
Could you keep your cat contained or put a bell on its collar or something for the sake of the wildlife as well as your carpets??!!

I almost forgot! Noise cancelling headphones. I have an expensive pair and a cheaper pair, and a cheaper pair actually works reasonably well. I never go anywhere on planes trains and automobiles without it! I’m literally allergic to most people’s noise, on phones, on their intrusive videos, the crappy music, whatever!

Which ones do you have please?

JaceLancs · 07/06/2026 22:35

@Fruitbatdancer
Sorry not to be much help but the solar lights have been from TKMaxx - clusters of balls, butterflies and bees and some fancy copper metal style stake lights
The tennis bracelet was second hand from
local jewellers

The new HUDA beauty loose powder.
Been absolutely brilliant at smoothing out my makeup finish, keeping my face from looking too shiny and disguises my ever increasingly sized pores. As an added bonus it smells lovely too.

Oh dear, I think you might have just enabled me. 😆That sounds amazing and I'm forever trying out new makeup...

Ryobi cordless pressure washer. De-webs the soffits/fascias/gutters, garage doors and window frames in my bungalow so quickly. Then I just need to dry the windows with a microfibre cloth. (I do get a bit wet myself while doing it though).

Ooh tell me more about this please! Could it be used on a patio?

TirzelyBeloved · 07/06/2026 22:47

LED face mask, bought on Vinted. I have been using it consistently and it’s made more difference to my skin than any cream or serum I have tried!

Lovely bedding that feels amazing against skin in the hot weather.

Which LED mask did you go for? Thanks 🙏

ruethewhirl · 07/06/2026 23:06

A few of mine:

  • My Bluetooth earbuds. As I have a sleep disorder and DH is a snorer, night times were frequently a misery till I discovered them. Being a collector by nature, though, I've now amassed more pairs than I really need - oops.
  • My Filofax that I use as a notebook/diary and also to journal in if I'm ever feeling a bit ruminative. There's something about its analogue-ness that helps slow my ADHD brain down.
  • Also on an analogue-ish note, my books. (I have a Kindle but always have a real book on the go too.)
  • And again with the analogue stuff (seriously, not just trying to jump on the analogue trend here 😄 – these are things I find genuinely helpful), I keep a little pouch in my bag that has mini aromatherapy balms and a piece of rose quartz in. I'm going through a very stressful time in my life and the balms definitely help. As for the rose quartz, I'm not particularly woo but the coldness of the stone is oddly calming sometimes.
  • And my cats, definitely! (most calming things ever, except when they throw up or bring things in. 😸)
Shockednotshocked · 07/06/2026 23:10

Heated blanket. I have a neurological illness that affects my muscles, my heated blanket is amazing.
I got argos own brand which is perfect, better than dreamland, but its out of stock now so waiting for it to come back in autumn to have a spare.

Microplane- game changer in the kitchen. I've been adding lemon zest to everything and makes light work of garlic and ginger.
