I bought a pull-string mini chopper from Tefal a couple of weeks ago. No more crying while dicing onions!

I do use the frozen ones for cooking so I haven't been chopping those, but for salads the recipes always say "finely dice a red onion" so this makes it so easy. I made a guac the other day and put the tomato, red onion and coriander in together and it diced the whole lot super small in 3-4 pulls on the handle.

I find the electric choppers tend to smush things into a paste, but if you just want "finely chopped" the manual chopper is the bees knees. And the bits go in the dishwasher!

Safety razor, can’t believe how much better it is than every other razor I’ve ever used. Dd persuaded me. Great shave and my skin is so much better, no ingrown hairs, no razor rash, plus it’ll last forever and blades are really cheap.

A load of hair products. My hair was feeling really straw like and I was feeling a bit rubbish about it. I've got wavy hair that frizzes easily so I'm never going to look glossy and polished, but my hair was matting in the shower when I shampooed and it felt like my conditioner was doing nothing, so I went a bit mad with my boots points.
I got elvive miracle oil hair mask, and the conditioner. I bought a bonding serum, two different types of spray in and leave hair oils (forgetting I already have another unopened already).
It's made a massive difference. I spray on an oil at least ten minutes before getting on the shower, longer if I remember, loads of it, then gently brush it though. The conditioner is gorgeous and way better that the one I was previously using. After washing and conditioning I lightly spray another oil on and brush through before blow drying. I use the serum twice a week before bed, and the mask once a week. My hair is now beautifully soft, doesn't tangle and is actually a bit shiny too.
Now if I could only figure out how regain some density.

Pyjama shorts sets from M and S - very stylish and cool in the recent (!) hot weather (prior to hospital stay). Usually have nighties and now prefer these
Melatonin for sleep - recently prescribed by a consultant whilst in hospital (not hopeful gp will continue with the prescription). It’s amazing!

M&S pjs are lovely at the moment. Melatonin you can buy online if GP is reluctant, they don’t restrict it in the US and there appears to be no restrictions on import.

When I can afford it - botox. And lots of it. 😂

Things I use every week:

  • Espresso maker. Our bean to cup machine died after 8yrs and we decided to try a cheaper espresso maker with separate grinder. The coffee is just as good for under £100.
  • Bread maker. £10 from FB marketplace. I don't make a lot of fresh bread as it needs eating quickly but I use it to make pizza dough from scratch every week. I have perfected homemade pizzas (they are incredible) for such a low cost now that I cannot eat supermarket pizzas and takeaways are out of the question. It does take hours but worth it.
  • Phillips lumea IPL. I don't use it often these days as I'm fairly hair free, it's done its job. It is such a blessing to not have to consider every outfit based on whether I've shaved my armpits or legs. From a dark haired woman that had lots of hair, including chin and tache.
  • Revlon one step. I have the oval brush already but I bought the rounded one and it had been great for a bouncy curly blowdry.

Hi @EveryDayisFriday could you please share your pizza dough recipe?

Which ones do you have please?

The expensive ones were Bose. Lovely quality sound, good at noise cancelling but expensive. I got them for about £160, but that was a special offer.

The cheaper ones I got were Anker Q20i Hybrid Active Noise Cancelling Foldable headphones, about £38 I think. Quite good and manages to cancel out a reasonable amount of sound, if not quite as much as the Bose

LettuceAndCarrots · 08/06/2026 01:01

Epaderm. I wear it on my face and it's really helped my dry, itchy red skin. I never used to moisturise and the dryness snuck up on me gradually so it took much longer than it should have done to start using it.

Ponderingwindow · 08/06/2026 03:00

A 2nd 3d printer. We are a ND household and I do a lot of tiny things to make things run smoothly. A 3d printer is a revelation and now I don’t have as much of a bottleneck.

Ohdearnotthisagain · 08/06/2026 04:49

I am a massively late adopter of an air fryer but love it!

I buy snackable carrots and qukes so the kids don’t have to use knives to prep their crunch and sip each day for school.

I love my soda stream.

PurpleAxe · 08/06/2026 04:59

Can I ask which one you got and if you'd recommend?

Its a Segway Navimow i205 AWD. Yes I would recommend. It is worth doing a bit of research as you need to get the one suitable for your size lawn, mine is 300Sqm. There are some useful videos on YouTube.

Your previous hair sounds very similar to mine. Have you noticed less hair shed? If you could share the brands of the oil and serum please that would be appreciated xx

Hi @EveryDayisFriday could you please share your pizza dough recipe?

Pizza dough: 🍕
300g white bread flour
1x 7g packet of yeast
1 tsp salt
1 tbsp olive oil
200ml warm water
I throw this into the bread maker on dough setting which takes 1hr30.

It makes 2x large pizzas or 3x medium. For the sauce I use passata with garlic and onions, sprinkle some oregano, basil and black pepper. Grated cheese and any toppings.

Bake for 12mins in a 200c oven

If you give it a try, let me know how it works for you.

An air con unit
And these neck cooler things that you put in the freezer

I don't get on with snag tights, I don't understand the love for them. Mine tore in seconds. I also got persuaded by those shorts they sell to wear under skirts and I don't get the appeal they just made me horribly hot and sweaty

Edited

Which air con unit did you buy please?

My recent purchase is a robotic lawnmower. I enjoy gardening but not cutting the grass [there is a lot of lawn] and this is a game changer for me. Saves me time every week and the lawn looks much better!

Me too. I bought a robot hoover and mop first, which I love, then got a mower. They both save so much time. Also love my heated throw in winter and a portable air con unit for the bedroom in summer.

Sharptonguedwoman · 07/06/2026 08:23

Absolutely agree. Bought a cheapish one to try, absolute game changer. I was rubbish at cooking rice and now it's always perfect!

I've used rice cookers for years-always the cheap ones and they've been brilliant..

Supermarket delivery pass. It's just made everything more organised, I can add things to the app as I see we need them and as I am doing our meal plans. I can usually get a delivery the next morning so the shopping is here and put away before we have left the house!
