Harry Windsor getting upset about Peter Phillips

Am I missing something? There is a story in the press today about Harry refusing to go to Peter Phillips's wedding, allegedly because he sold his first wedding to Hello (or OK) magazine. What am I missing here - these magazines have featured Kate and William's wedding, Sophie and Edward, Eugenie and Jack, loads of them. Including his own wedding to Meghan. I thought that's just what they do, so what's Harry's issue? Is it that Peter Phillips got paid and the rest didn't?

The excuse given by Harry is something to do with upsetting him about his girlfriend Chelsy Davy. He's supposedly so happy with Meghan, so why does anything to do with Chelsy bother him now?

For info, this is not a "royal bashing" "Meghan bashing" post. It's to get understanding of how these things work.

The Mail and Express seem to have some story about Harry and/or Meghan every day. I wouldn't waste time thinking about it.

The magazines might feature the weddings of other royals, but they didn't actively sell their wedding to them, whereas Peter allegedly did receive money for access.

Harry is hypocritical after selling his life to Oprah, Netflix and anyone else who would pay him/her.

It's still none of Harry's business though, and I had read elsewhere that he wasn't invited.

Thanks, I suspected it was that Peter got paid and the rest didn't. Today's wedding is hardly a royal wedding though really is it? I gather they want to keep it private. This is why I didn't post in the Royal Family section - @mnhq please move it there if you think that's where it should be.

I read in the Independent that Harry wasn't going because of him falling out with William.

As others have pointed out, the Daily Mail have run with the story about Chelsy. To be fair to them though they haven't mentioned Meghan.

I think his ex wife was a top magazine editor so in that world, hence the arrangement. Can’t imagine anyone in the family cares about that now considering all the other issues, seems rather minor by comparison.

Of course I didn't think that, seriously or otherwise, and that's not what I asked. Some quite weird replies here this morning, aren't there? I asked about what the problem was about Peter Phillips getting paid for his wedding in the magazine in 2008. I'm not a print journalist, so I don't know those things. However someone has given an answer without sarcasm or smart alec-ness.

Click bait. I doubt they are writers. Probably some kid off someone who works there has been told to cobble some key words together. Any mention of Meghan or Harry gets tons of clicks. You only need to look at the Royal hoard here. It's dominated by threats slagging off Harry and Meghan. The DM would probably have their address revenue without them.

I also read this. And it’s hardly a great surprise. If you very, very publicly berate your family, and make every family event about your attendance or otherwise, you can’t be surprised that you don’t get invited.

TBH I wouldn’t discount it as made up either, Harry has form for leaking to the tabloids.

Do you really think he would leak to the DM after all the harassment and after he successfully sued them. The daily
mail have been saying he isn’t invited, so I don’t understand the issue and I don’t understand why people believe it. I for one wish Harry and his family well.
