2 Tier Britain and Policing - Digwa

Wellwhatnowbellaboo · Yesterday 09:12

Just heard Nigel talk about this on LBC following Digwa sentencing. Also saw the video... I'm shocked and so saddened. Not sure what my aibu is but I think we need to ban all religious weapons for a start . What do u think ? Are you in police ? Are you treating people differently?

Classy - using this thread to raise money matters. Talk about trivialising.

There's only one person who is trivialising this and being non-classy - and that's Nigel Farage.

ExecutorAttorneyAdvicePlease · Yesterday 15:24

He suggests some officers react in this way because of "elevated perceptions of ethnic minority communities over the safety of white British people”

Quote from Jenrick, above.
He is being purposely divisive and provocative- taking advantage of an awful crime for his/the party’s agenda.
Digwa was British - but that has been washed over in his statement, pitching ethnic communities against white British people (although Nowak is a Slavic name by origin but at least he is white enough in this scenario to suit Jenrick). Some people are really twisted.

Oh did you? Then you come back to prioritise scrutiny of Farage's conduct. Try calming down.

Shame on you for using a thread about the murder of a young boy to creep around throwing out pointless insults..

This subject is far too tragic to humour a troll.

That's hardly a surprise when the police anti racist strategy facilitates that approach.

And there, of course, you happily remind of us of Farage's other main motivation: anything to find an excuse to take people's minds off his grifting and unwillingness to answer questions about it.

Frankly, I find the sheer cynicism behind his actions utterly sickening.

BIossomtoes · Yesterday 15:26

Gloriia · Yesterday 15:21

The politicisation?! That is what politicians should do, highlight the absolute incompetence of our police force and the ridiculous tip toeing around that they do as soon as any alleged victim bleats 'racism'. It is their job to actually raise such horrific incidents.

Henry Nowak was let down massively by stupid plods who should be sacked.

That is what should appal you.

That isn’t what I meant and you know it. That’s a disingenuous and deliberate distortion of what I said.

So conduct is never legitimate unless its on your terms? Yep, that's the left for you.

People are allowed to be sickened both by the murder and by the cynical use of it to score political points, you know. If you are not nauseated by that, shame on you.

What on earth are you talking about?

Of course I would be perfectly happy for any prominent person to display massive concern at this awful tragedy, and concern about various aspects of it including the original police response.

But surely no-one condones using it for political ends? Those are the only "terms" I don't agree with. Do you?

Except it's clear where priorities lie.

This person is using the murder of this boy to score political points.
I think it's best ignored.

No, you are presuming that's why he is condoning it. I'm done.

So are you saying white lives don't matter? I don't understand what you're trying to say here.

Then you're part of the problem

BIossomtoes · Yesterday 15:31

LuckyHazelFox · Yesterday 15:30

Except it's clear where priorities lie.

Yes it is. And Farage’s lie with political gain.

BikiniKiller · Yesterday 15:31

TopPocketFind · Yesterday 15:13

Maybe you could do the same and read what I actually said rather than just making stuff up.

Oh we did read what you said, it was very clear for all to see. Now return the courtesy and explain WHY you think it's ok for a murdered boys vigil to be hijacked by the ' refugees welcome,' brigade? You didn't answer my earlier question either - would you deem it also acceptable if a far right group protesting against immigration attended the funeral of a victim of racism such as Bhim kohil? If not, why not?

Owlsintheforest · Yesterday 15:33

MyrtlethePurpleTurtle · Yesterday 15:31

Then you're part of the problem

How?

Busybeemumm · Yesterday 15:35

Thousands of Sikhs wear the Kirpan so would be interesting to know how many have used this knife. It's integral to the Sikh religion and thankfully in this country all religions are supported.

Nobody should be carrying a weapon - everyone needs to follow the law and treated equally.

DeftGoldHedgehog · Yesterday 15:39

Did this "two tier" policing start in July 2024?

Funny that I never heard anything about it before then.

CaesarAugusta · Yesterday 15:40

That is what politicians should do, highlight the absolute incompetence of our police force

Was it "absolute incompetence", though? Yes, their response in the first few minutes after they got involved was terrible. Does that make everything they did absolutely incompetent? They investigated the murder, arrested Digwa and other family members quickly, gathered evidence diligently (including recording him talking to his brother), brought him to trial and ensured all the evidence was put before the court, resulting in Digwa's conviction and that of his mother. What was incompetent about that process?

How?

Perhaps an analogy may help:
women and girls are overwhelmingly the victims of sexual violence and oppression because of their sex.
A group lobby for a safe space for them and say that women’s safety matters.
Someone comes along and says: well what about men? Does our safety not matter?
Then men start campaigning to say their safety and rights matter.
What they don’t understand (at best) is that they always had preferential rights and safety over women…but most likely, that is exactly how they like it and want it to remain.

CaesarAugusta · Yesterday 15:42

LuckyHazelFox · Yesterday 15:30

Except it's clear where priorities lie.

Whose priorities, precisely?

I assume you wouldn't be foolish enough to suggest you know better than I do what my priorities are.

Nope. You're sadly demonstrating a lack of basic comprehension skills there.

Think about it. Would this thread exist if a politician hadn't chosen to make lots of political points about the murder?

Funny that I never heard anything about it before then.

Two tier policing has been a problem for a long time, not only race based, but sex based and ideology based too.

What on earth are you talking about? The PP posted about White Lives Matter which had zero relevance to what I had posted so I asked if they'd posted that because they were implying that white lives don't matter - I don't know why they mentioned it to me? I was not the one who mentioned white lives matter - the previous poster did... Did you read the chain?

My concern is solely about how an 18 year old boy was treated so appallingly and the perp was treated and believed. I don't give a flying fuck about all this white / black lives matter rhetoric.
