AIBU to ask for a refund on a seaview caravan upgrade?

Generally feel like I have a point but dh thinks not.

We are currently at haven seton sands for a 3 night break which cost us just under 800 pound ( that includes 25 so we can choose our check in time)

We booked a seaview gold caravan but feel like it's definitely not worth the extra pounds especially when other caravans have s better view. If we booked just a gold caravan ot would have been cheaper.

I had to zoom in to see the sea. Very much a waste of money. £800 for 3 nights in a caravan is criminal.

I think it's worth telling them that you were expecting a better view because of the price difference and maybe ask if it's possible to move.

You can see the sea and you don’t look out on another caravan that side

this was the last seaview caravan we we stayed in which is what this type is supposed to be.

OP I'd be disappointed too.

More sea than a Torquay Hotel window (if you're under 50 you probably won't understand that Fawlty Towers reference!).

I wouldn't be happy with that either and would feel a bit conned but at least you don't have to stare at another caravan.

If it is meant to be this one then definitely ask for a refund because you don’t have a front row view to that sea at all

I suppose you can try? What is there to lose. It looks pretty poor by comparison to your other picture and what it claims to deliver.

Quite shocked at £800 for a caravan though, I've just come back from 5 nights in Cornwall, self catering in a 3 bed, 2 bath house with (actual) sea views for less than that, we've got Devon booked in June - 3 bed house with a garden, sea views, a few mins from the harbour for £600ish for 7 nights..

£800 for 3 nights in a caravan in term time is bizarre!

I even just had a look and to book their best signature gold caravan this weekend it’s £420! Still expensive but I’m guessing there is a huge group of you there for that price?

Yeah pretty poor sea view but regardless,£800 for 3 nights at Seton Sands is atrocious 🥲 Sun holiday 5 nights at Seton Sands for under £100, that's with a gold caravan!

I looked at the park you are at in the most expensive caravan for this weekend for 4 adults and it’s £419 so I’d speak to them about that because there’s no way a 5th adult should double it

It’s a bit difficult to tell as the two photos you’ve uploaded are from completely different angles.

I don’t think the view would be too bad if the weather was better. It’s definitely a sea view - not as though you have to go out and lean over the balcony to glimpse a bit of it.

£800 for 3 nights does sound very expensive, though.

I would express disappointment. Illustrate with previous experiences. Accept some sort of discount, voucher etc if done quickly
