I reckon it'll be Emma and Johannes doing the Tess bit and Josh doing the comedy turn upstairs. I'd bet money that on the first episode, he'll wear a Claudia Winkleman wig.

I still can't work out Johannes role. Roving reporter? How? Where? Why? I guess he'll lurk and grab people after they've done the chat with Josh to try and get some deeper intel. But it all feels a bit...pointless.

I’d like to see Karen Hauer in one of the roles, no idea if she’s any experience of presenting (guessing not), but she seems fabulous, and equally at home with the happy stuff and the emotional. If not her, Liza Tarbuck.

Not sure about EW. I really like some of her stuff, but don’t enjoy her radio presenting at all. It feels artificial somehow. I suspect people underestimate the skills needed to be a good radio presenter; too much radio these days is name-driven, rather than ability.

Can’t get my head around Josh in this role. He’s not even the best one on The Last Leg.

They said on the news that Emma will be main presenter, Josh will do the Claudia bit and Johanes will be a “roving reporter” which doesn’t sound naff at all.

Also baffled by Josh being in any way involved in this.

Johannes I love as a dancer, but I find him a hard watch at other times. No specific reason, just someone I find vaguely irritating to listen to for too long and feel he can come across as almost condescending sometimes.

Emma - again, nothing about her to dislike, but I do think she'd need a good scriptwriter; she borders on being a bit dull on her R2 show sometimes, imo.

Josh W, not someone that I ever would have thought of hosting Strictly....

I am pretty happy at the line up. I was dreading that it would be Alison I love myself Hammond or Amanda Holden. I definitely would not have watched if it had been either of them.

I do think Zoe would have been good but her sickness record does not make her a good or safe bet for them.

It's human nature to not like change after so long, I think. Those casting have got a really hard job. There will have been multiple screen tests I imagine so I trust them to have done their job better than I ever could.

My prediction (with no basis at all) is that there will be a whole load of bluster from a very vocal minority anout how rubbish they are in the lead up/first week and cries of 'I'll not watch it anymore'. But in reality they will, viewing figures will remain the same, and by week 4 it'll be business as usual!

I agree, it could have been a LOT worse and I think Josh and Emma will be a really good fit. The only part I'm not sold on is roving reporter JoJo, but if it proves too clunky and unnecessary then I suspect they'll be a social media backlash and it will be phased out.

Rylan has been on Instagram saying how proud he was that he was even considered and wishing the new presenters all the best with a funny fake crying pic. How on earth is Josh, who’s never had any connection with this show, a better choice than Rylan? Same with Emma tbf but at least I can see she’s previously hosted similar Saturday night shows.

Looks like I'll just be watching the dances on youtube from now on then. I had already been struggling in recent years with not knowing who half of the 'celebrities' were (and also struggling with the idea that I'm old enough for that to be a problem!) and now this.

Maybe I'm alone here but Ann Widdecombe would have been funnier (for all the wrong reasons but still) than Josh for me.

I really thought that the reports of Josh being a presenter were a joke. Seems such an odd choice.

@Linenspots- Michael McIntyre is not someone I’d have thought of, but he’d be good at the Tess role.

I think Claudia left because she saw Strictly’s popularity dwindling and Tess because, well, she’s rubbish and has always been propped up by her co-presenters. These presenters can’t save it.

How long until theres a change of hosts do you reckon?
