AIBU to compare pro-Palestine and Tommy Robinson-led protests? Both involve hatred antisemitism or racism and both end up in trouble. Two cheeks of the same ass as I've heard on here before!

Pro-Palestine and Tommy Robinson-led protests this Saturday with yet again thousands of officers having to spend the day controling these protests. Surely there is a better way. Static protest or once a month for Gaza? I think Tommy's lot isn't weekly like the Gaza lot.

Antisemitism is a major problem and general racism also up. Armoured vehicles are needed now with the first time in 15 years to use them. Terror incidents have risen yet what have either of these 'protests' achieved apart from further divisions!

Stick them in separate areas and tell them to stand with their various placards and keep them there. They ave their virtue signalling and hate fuelled moments but stop annoying the rest of us and keep the costs down - it's costing millions of pounds.

Met call up armoured cars as London braces for a day of protests

In a package of measures billed as the toughest ever, 4,000 officers will be deployed to deal with the Tommy Robinson-led Unite the Kingdom rally and a pro-Palestine gathering to mark Nakba Day.

You've dismissed it out of hand by refusing to watch it. It could be a public confession on the BBC youtube channel, but that won't matter to you. You've already lost the moral high ground by refusing to even consider you might be wrong.

God there are some silly threads on this website.

😂oh dear It's silly to not want £4.5 million spent on policing for 1 day. I'm silly to want the Jewish community to live fear free, without protests going past their homes and synagogues causing fear. It's silly because I think there is hatred on both the PP and TR marches.

Must have hit a nerve then. 🤔

I mean - the people marching for Palestine are doing so to stop innocent people being killed by the Israeli government? The conditions there are heartbreaking for anyone to see, and have been for a long time.

Tommy Robinsons lot are wanting to stop multiculturalism in the UK

Yabu, they arent remotely the same.

I think you missed the bit about making them static so they don't bring fear to the Jewish community. Protest by all means, but why past unconnected Jewish people in the UK?

All for an anti Hamas protest but do it in one place.

noblegiraffe · 14/05/2026 15:46

Maybe the marchers could pay for the policing.

Wanting the Israeli army to stop killing children doesn't make you antisemitic. It's a view share by many Jews

What about wanting Hamas to stop as well?
Why do we never see anti Hamas protests?

Mingou · 14/05/2026 15:46

Pro Palestinian is not anti Semitic.

Indeed, how is that stopping protests.

The same with any TR protest, again, in one place and both protests away from each other so it can limited trouble makers from both protests to hurt each other/cause damage to property, cause fear for people going about their daily lives.

At this point I'd take 10 Robinsons rather than the Pallywood brigade. Safer.

Never said it was. What is chanted on those marches calling for action in globalising the intifada is pretty hateful.

No idea. Some poor bloke was attacked when he attended a earlier march with a anti Hamas placard. You'd think he'd be welcome and they all want to see the back of Hamas?

YABU. Pro-Palestine marches are against the Israeli government’s action and our support of that.

Stephen Yaxley-Lennon is trying to sow division in this nation to benefit Russia. Not the same at all.

Then why past UK Jewish synagogues? How does that protest the Israeli government actions? Is there really any need at all to cause problems for the local Jewish community who are not the Israeli government?

Again static protest away from UK Synagogues would helpp show they aren't 'intending' to increase hatred and fear.

Given the numbers that UTK had last time, I'm not sure that could be described as a fair fight.

I also think that saying TR is against multiculturalism is rather unfair but I don't think this is a hugely rational thread. Perhaps it depends on your definition of multiculturalism. As Kemi Badenoch has said, there is a big difference between being a multi ethnic society and being a multicultural society.

Although arguably also our multicultural society rubs along reasonably well. I think Tommy Robinson would probably agree with that statement? He has very specific concerns - or he did the last time UTK marched, I don't know if he has changed recently.

If we banned all marches on the basis of size then we are in dangerous territory.

anyway, the number of arrests relative to the number of attendees (according to Metropolitan police figures) was very low, and I really hope it goes all right this time.

It’s an American influencer explaining why she takes money from Netanyahu to make posts at his behest. Hardly a conspiracy.

That’s offensive. If you wouldn’t do it to Israelis, don’t do it to Palestinians.
