AIBU to compare pro-Palestine and Tommy Robinson-led protests? Both involve hatred antisemitism or racism and both end up in trouble. Two cheeks of the same ass as I've heard on here before!

Pro-Palestine and Tommy Robinson-led protests this Saturday with yet again thousands of officers having to spend the day controling these protests. Surely there is a better way. Static protest or once a month for Gaza? I think Tommy's lot isn't weekly like the Gaza lot.

Antisemitism is a major problem and general racism also up. Armoured vehicles are needed now with the first time in 15 years to use them. Terror incidents have risen yet what have either of these 'protests' achieved apart from further divisions!

Stick them in separate areas and tell them to stand with their various placards and keep them there. They ave their virtue signalling and hate fuelled moments but stop annoying the rest of us and keep the costs down - it's costing millions of pounds.

Met call up armoured cars as London braces for a day of protests

In a package of measures billed as the toughest ever, 4,000 officers will be deployed to deal with the Tommy Robinson-led Unite the Kingdom rally and a pro-Palestine gathering to mark Nakba Day.

Most Jew are Zionists. Most of the Western World are Zionists. It just means you believe Jewish people have a right to live in their ancestral homeland.

But also antisemites have long used it as a codeword for Jew.

So when people on marches are holding signs saying 'Zionists control the media' or 'Zionists control the government' or 'Zionists kill babies', they're just repeating the same old antisemitic tropes that have been used against Jews since forever.

And then they justify this by saying that 'Zionist' means 'supporter of Netanyahu'. Which it doesn't. It's just antisemitism.

What is a pro pal

Why do you keep asking this question? You ask it over and over again on every thread and posters, obligingly tell you. Why be so disingenuous? If you take offence at the term, say so.

Yes I agree. But there is a UK Labour politician Zara sultanna.. who regularly posts " anti Zionism is not anti-Semitism" and I think it just needs to be called out in the mainstream every time. Because it is not being right now. And I can't understand how she can be an MP And post as she does.

I didn’t post that. Go back and watch the video.

You posted a video from that channel.

From memory, I’ve asked the question once before. Where have you got ‘over and over again on every thread’ from?

If I’ve asked so often, can you give some examples?

And why are you bothered by it?

So you're admitting you already know the answer then. That's why you're being disingenuous.

Would you call Pakistani people the ‘P’ word and think anyone who doesn’t know what it means is being disingenuous?

If not, pally and pal are just as unacceptable

If your posting a youtube video as evidence of something, it does seem like a basic thing to make sure the channel you're promoting isn't dedicated to antisemitic bile.

I’ve posted a video of an American influencer which ha a clip explaining why she influences on behalf of Netanyahu. There is nothing offensive in the video.

If you want to make a statement about any other videos, you are free to do so.

You make no sense. You're conflating a vile, racist slur with an abbreviated term for a pro Palestine supporter. Try as you might, you don't get to police language.

@Twiglets1 agree, I don't represent everyone

@HRTQueen would you consider watching the Trevor Phillips video I linked?

I really hope it's all right this time. With the football on as well, the police really have got their work cut out for them.

I watched the video

TP often appears to play devils advocate I find it hard to believe apart from maybe the odd one or two people who are so politically naive would go an on TR March and not know what he stands for. To go on a march you have strong feelings, and about the hotels issue I can understand the concerns and strong feelings but I think that is a convenient stance to stand behind and hide and ordinary people TP speaks of often do have prejudice views

I have to correct you. Robinson is in favour of multiculturalism. He's against what he views as an Islamisation of the UK and the way that, as he sees it, Muslims get away with things.

Robinson is a racist. This is not defamation.

Wow… That’s quite a wild outlook. Who are the 'extreme Zionists gentile'? And what’s the 'hardcore hate movement' Jews in the UK are allegedly involved in, to facilitate what change? Being just 0.5% of the total population, mind.
Any evidence to support your wild claims?
Antisemitism is really alive and kicking, no wonder Jews in the UK are concerned.

£4.5million operation to police protests this weekend - that is just this one weekend. It's not like the country has money to waste!

but we have 620million to give France to stop the boats and they dont, just watch them and play around and laugh...

Wearenotborg · 15/05/2026 06:37

nomas · 14/05/2026 20:47

That’s not true. IDF soldiers have admitted that they do kill civilians arbitrarily. The majority that have been killed in Gaza are civilians, not Hamas.

news.sky.com/story/israeli-soldier-describes-arbitrary-killing-of-civilians-in-gaza-13393422

So we’re the people killed on October 7th not civilians? Or is killing innocent people ok when Hamas do it?

What are you talking about?? People write pro Pal because it's a pain to have to keep typing out pro Palestinian if you are on these threads a lot. There is nothing derogatory about it apart from in your head.

MsJinks · 15/05/2026 06:59

I said upthread that the Palestinian March is on Nakba Day - that has special significance and is literally also a calendar date they commemorate.

Tommy specifically chose this date for maximum chaos imo - also to tie in with local elections I think, though as he doesn’t particularly support Reform I think that’s just a useful tool - and as it happens last week would have been more apt surely.

I can’t credit there are Tommy apologists on Mumsnet whatever other views may be held on Palestine - surely 2 views can be held at the same time - not necessarily support Palestine marches but equally recognise Tommy as a nasty little racist grifter out to cause maximum trouble.

It is unfortunate that the cup final is the same date as Nakba - Tommy seeing this though as fortunate as he can utilise this to grow his crowd with footie hooligans (obviously not saying all football supporters are this way, and it’s definitely unfortunate this is all going on for them).

Wanting the Israeli army to stop killing children doesn't make you antisemitic. It's a view share by many Jews

Then why are attacks on Jews been happening then? If it’s all about Isreal

MajorLanceYouDontWantMeNoMoreNsoul · 15/05/2026 07:12

Unite the kingdom that's a laugh T.R and his kind are about division and always have been.
No different to the NF,BNP,C18,blood and Honour.
The message is always the same.

I've no time for the Palestine marches ,I can see what some are trying to highlight but others have hijacked the marches to further their hatred of Jewish people.

Waste of £4.5 million .
Should be static protests.

Sartre · 15/05/2026 07:14

noblegiraffe · 14/05/2026 22:25

What do you think 'Zionist' means?

Because it doesn't mean 'supports Israel's actions in Gaza'.

No idea if you’re Jewish or not but I am and so don’t need a lesson on the definition of Zionism thanks. I’ll reiterate, not every Jew believes in Zionism and it is dangerous for Jews everywhere to conflate the two.
