Do you let your dog piss up someone else’s bin?

Every week when we put the bin out ready for collection, our ring doorbell picks up the same neighbour who lives round the corner, let their big ass dog piss up our bin. Would this bother you and would you say something?

Apparently that’s nowhere near as disgusting as a dog pee on a bin. Shit in my garden but for the love of god don’t touch my bin.

Neither are pleasant but a dog with its owner is being supervised so shouldn't be pissing on anyone's property, it's the owners fault not the dog.

One’s a garden for sitting (not shitting) in and one’s a bin. For rubbish. Stop with the hypocrisy.

The cat owner lets the cat out unsupervised - isn’t that worse?

when my dad was a kid (loooong time ago) dogs were let out the house in the morning to hang with their mates and roam the neighbourhood until they went back for dinner.

I have a dog, I don't let him pee up bins, cars or cross boundaries onto gardens.
There is a house on our route with a sign in the window saying don't let your dogs pee on our house. Their house is front door opening onto the street.

Round here that sign would encourage owners to let their dogs foul even more!

Strike a light! The more I read of this thread the more I dislike dog owners! Confused

Some really ludicrous, farcical, nonsensical posts on here! eg......

@CitizenZ · Today 12:50
If only there was some sort of liquid that could come out of the sky at regular intervals and wash it all away. 🤔

I've heard it all now. 'Hey guys, just leave your stinky dog-piss smelling cardboard recycling bag and recycling bin out on the public footpath and wait for the rain to wash all the dog piss off it!'

Note: My bin collection day was Friday, and it still hasn't rained where I live... Great idea Einstein! 👏

No I don't. I have dogs and on bin day and all the bins are out in the street I will pull my dogs away from them. It's your property and why can't dog owners just pull their dog away?

The bins here aren’t our property, they belong to the council.

MaryBeardsShoes · Today 20:55

No I don’t allowed my dogs to pee on bins, or people’s gardens walls etc. But evidently people do allow this, and actually it doesn’t bother me if someone else lets their dog pee on my bin. Makes absolutely no difference to the smell (it rains enough in the UK) also I always wash my hands after handle the bin anyway.

As I said before, my bins (and cardboard recycling bag) are MINE. I pay two and a half grand a year council tax (and part of it is for rubbish collection and recycling,) and I use the bins, and I clean them, and I look after them. THEY ARE MINE. And I am not tolerating people letting their dogs piss all over them.

And so what? Even if they DID belong to the council, that doesn't give anyone any more right to let their dogs piss over them!

So it’s ok that someone else has decided to keep a pet that they can’t supervise, and therefore I’m now responsible for cleaning its shit off my garden?

MN and the bin obsessions.
It’s a plastic bin, if you’re that worried chuck a bucket of water on it.

EmeraldShamrock000 · Today 21:08

It would bother me enough to shout at the selfish fecker or alternatively leave a shit on top of his bin.

HortiGal · Today 21:09

To add; the bins belong to the council, they can and do remove them if they so choose to.

Oftentimes they are broken or lost by the crew anyway. Shocking really. We must treat our bins with the reverence and respect they deserve. Only referring to them in hushed tones.

I know it’s horrible, I was just saying a cat can’t be controlled 24 hours a day, unlike a dog

Does it matter who it belongs to don’t let your dog piss on it

and people wonder why there so much hate and negativity towards dogs and dog owners

Perhaps people should take better care of their bins. Accompany them when they’re outside. Gone are the days you could tie them up outside a shop.
