Do you let your dog piss up someone else’s bin?

Every week when we put the bin out ready for collection, our ring doorbell picks up the same neighbour who lives round the corner, let their big ass dog piss up our bin. Would this bother you and would you say something?

Well perhaps her fellow humans could behave like responsible people and not absolute mongrels.

What's wrong with mongrels? I have a pedigree Bichon but he doesn't realise there's a dog hierarchy and wees everywhere. Even on your car wheels when you're not looking.

I have to agree here. Mongrels are just as worthy as 'pedigree.' I don't dislike dogs - honestly! I just dislike BAD DOG OWENRS!

It’s just rude as fuck but the problem is entitled dog owner don’t give a fuck

I j drench the area in neat bleach got shouted out by dog walker told her keep your dog out of my garden and it won’t be a problem

If you just calmed down and didn't keep looking out of your window, you'd be none the wiser. I see lots of dogs seeing on the bushes next to my front gate and there's never any smell.

Trying to work out how I would know a dog had pissed on my bin. Perhaps when I crouch down to admire its fragrant aroma after dropping off a bag of used tissues, vacuum cleaner dust and raw chicken packaging?

If you can't tell the signs of a dog pissing on your bin you need to get your eyes tested.

So you're one of THOSE owners. Understood.

Do some of you get upset by dirty bins? It’s hard to tell.

Well judging by the apparently thriving bin cleaning businesses around my area I'd say that a lot of people like to have a clean bin!

Personally my dh just jet washes the inside when he cleans the drive once a year.

SpanielsGalore · Today 11:45

I wouldn't allow my dogs to do it and it annoys me that other people do.

I was at dog training last week. It's held in a large area of grass, trees and bushes. Yet someone in the following class let their dog piss all over my car wheel and tyre. It's bloody disgusting.

Bins stink in general.

Really ? I use bin liners [doesn't everyone]? and while my bin never smells of roses it doesn't stink and attract flies. I don't wash it out either, no need.

Scarlettpixie · Today 11:49

I am sure dogs pee on our bin as we live on the main road through an estate and it's doggy central!

The bin lives outside and gets rained on and well it's a bin so I haven't given it much thought tbh.

I don't let my dog no but it wouldn't bother me if one did on mine I give it a wash every couple of weeks same as the corner of my garden wall. I spent ages teaching my dog what's ok and I'm sure ring bells have me saying 'off the grass you don't live there' 😂

Do you mean you clean a wheelie bin? Why?

Sweetpeasaremadeforbees · Today 11:53

The problem is that once one dog pisses, others will do it in the same place.

I went to the Malvern spring festival last week and now dogs are only allowed on the Sunday (last day). I did wonder whether it was to stop dogs pissing on all the plants that people will be buying.

Presumably on the Sunday people with dogs won't mind buying plants that stink of dog piss!

Not in a wheelie bin I don't, have a kitchen bin with bin bags. I've probably washed the outside bin once or twice a year.

It's a fact of life dog piss does stink, when it builds up in a regular area, perhaps you have a cold or sinus problems or are just nose blind to it.
Others will notice it by your gate if it's a regular pee area for dogs.

Harhar · Today 12:07

Bins stink too. Unless you wash them
and if you wash them you won’t smell dog piss.

Not letting dogs piss on people’s things will stop it too

Designer dogs are also mongrels jwuy more expensive now 😂 labradoodles, cockapoos etc - mongrels! I wouldn’t pay
££ for any of these dogs! A decent breed that isn’t mixed with other things that cause genetic issues or a genuine mongrel don’t have half as many health issues and surgeries

Well it may stop it smelling of dog pee but it’ll still stink.

I said on my first post I wouldn’t let my dog do this. Just don’t understand the levels of anger from some. It’s a bin.

Secretseverywhere · Today 12:31

I don’t think this would bother me, it’s a bin and won’t the pee just wash off in rain? You could spray it down with cheap vinegar and water ( half and half in an old spray bottle ) and that’ll put the pooch off.

Jibaka · Today 12:33

Our bin lives in the garage so yes, I’d be fucked off if some moronic twat did this. It would stick and stink.

Velvian · Today 12:35

It is the council's property isn't it and can't you just pour a bucket of soapy water over it ?

Not here, we had to pay for our bins.

RocketPanda · Today 12:37

I hate to tell you but more than dogs are pissing on your bin. Rats, Tom cats, foxes.

Strangly all my male dogs have crouched to pee.

Skinkytoilet · Today 12:38

I live in a busy road on the way to a park one way and a nature reserve the other, I am sure that some of the many dogs who walk by each day piss on my bin.

I don’t bring it inside, why would it bother me?

Big difference is I happily clean my bin because I put rubbish in it rather than having to clean it as some twat has let there dog piss on it
tbh our bin doesn’t smell can’t remember last time I washed it due to us having separate food waste collection

NightCzar · Today 12:43

I’m confused at all the outrage, but am not in the UK. Do you have to touch the bottom or sides of your bins? Mine are above waist height, have wheels and have a handle at the top, on the side, to drag it around by.
Would you care if a dog weed on a bin like that? I can’t bring myself to worry about it, but perhaps you have to touch your bins’ nether regions?!
