I’ve just seen that the Hantavirus is in Liverpool?! They’ve been brought to Liverpool? I’ve got a 2 day work conference there and now I’m worried 😢 I suffer terribly with health anxiety. AIBU?

Birkenhead and liscard are big push but Heswall, West Kirby and Caldy are especially Caldy houses that are a few million ! Can buy a whole street in Birkenhead for that

Pedallleur · 11/05/2026 21:22

But not Birkenhead!

Oxton is in Birkenhead- not that anyone in a big house there would admit it!

Uncalled for classism.

Why is it classism? We don’t know if didntlikeanyofthesuggestions is dead posh like Jade Goody or Katie Price.

Marycontrarygarden · 11/05/2026 21:18

I would say don't go for coffee with them and you should be alright 🤣🤣🤣

But what happens if they have cake? OP could be lured into their infection zone, all for a slice of Victoria sponge (other confections available)

“Monitored” - umm… ok.

Look forward to seeing what that looks like in reality 👍

A once a day phone call. Obviously.

If I had to go up north Hantavirus would be the least of my worries.

What a tedious response.

I actually wonder how some posters even get out of bed in the morning let alone lesve
the house
Id forgotten how utterly unable to even carry out the most basic of risk assessments people are
i had hoped we would never see the utter insanity of 2020
but dear god people need to get a grip

Honestly they love it. Practically salivating at the thought of another lockdown and being able to cover their groceries with bleach.

A blast from the past, how much we have forgotten, just remembered test and trace 🤐

Everyone sprints onto the train at Euston thanks to the persistent late notice platform announcements! 🏃🏻‍♀️ 🚊

You’re not wrong there!

Grow up!!

The same could be said of the OP.

TokyoSushi · 11/05/2026 21:33

They’re not in Liverpool, they’re on the Wirral. They’re asymptomatic and have tested negative. They’re in isolation in a specialist unit. There is no risk.

Just as long as she washes her hands after while singing happy birthday 😂

YABU. They aren’t going to be attending the conference!

Artesia · 11/05/2026 21:36

TedTookVows · 11/05/2026 20:01

They haven’t been brought to Liverpool. Arrowe Park Hospital is on the Wirral and has a special block where they isolated Brits who came from China and tested positive for COVID. It’s been done before. They have the experience. It’ll be nowhere near your conference.

not sure that's a wildly reassuring reference...

Focacciaisyum · 11/05/2026 21:36

ThereAreOnlyShadesOfGrey · 11/05/2026 21:30

Honestly they love it. Practically salivating at the thought of another lockdown and being able to cover their groceries with bleach.

Or maybe some people who are suspicious of what's happening here want the 20 people quarantined in the facility for the whole 6 weeks rather than being 'asked' to self isolate at home is because they DONT want another lockdown?

BeeHive909 · 11/05/2026 21:36

Makes me laugh that they’ll be discharged home after 72 hours and have to isolate at home. We know they won’t be isolating at home no chance. Some of them will some definitely won’t. It’s a complete joke. They should stay at the facility in arrowe park the whole time.

Livelovebehappy · 11/05/2026 21:37

Zanatdy · 11/05/2026 20:02

Its a specialist hospital used for this kind of thing, on the wirral, not Liverpool. Measures are in place and there is no risk to the general public in the locality.

I honestly don’t trust the authorities. We all know what should happen, but we all also know that the NHS is in a pretty crap place atm, and I have zero confidence they would do anything by the book.

50Balesofgrey · 11/05/2026 21:37

mumstheword1x · 11/05/2026 20:02

But it says they can be let out in 72 hours which will be when I’m at the conference 😢

Why not go and buy all the toilet paper you can find. That should make you feel better

Pedallleur · 11/05/2026 21:37

MagneticSquirrel · 11/05/2026 21:34

YABU. They aren’t going to be attending the conference!

Now I'm envisioning the delegates breaking out for group work or coffee and it's Shaun of the Dead outside the venue.

mumstheword1x · 11/05/2026 21:22

My hotel is 11 miles away

It doesn't matter if your hotel was next door. The people isolating will be at arrowed park for 72 hours as they are potential contacts. They will then go to accommodation to isolate while being kept in contact and monitored by the authorities
Please try to calm down about this

Honestly they love it. Practically salivating at the thought of another lockdown and being able to cover their groceries with bleach.

And be able to say things like "sadly died" or "sadly deluded" or "what part of exponential growth don't you understand".

OP quite clearly needs treatment for rampant anxiety.

Why would they not?
If they dont do things by the book they will have much more work to do with more people in hospital
