I was asked to leave B&Q, mortified

I was approached by a member of staff who said that he just reviewed footage that 3 months ago, I was recorded not scanning an item at the self checkout and they believed it was intentional and just asked me (quite nicely and compassionately I might add) to leave.

Whoopsie! 😬

I note that they have no scales at B&Q self service which makes accidents easy.

Couldn't give less of a fuck. I'm okay with being banned from B&Q, there's other home stores.

Probably why they banned you. You stole something, couldn't give 'less of a fuck' about it and they probably think you might do it again. No apology or offer to pay by you.

Did you know at the time...you sound like you knew

This clearly didn’t actually happen but on the off chance it did:

I very much doubt a member of B&Q staff would remember one customer who mis-scanned one item, three months earlier.

Ergo, there must be something more to this than you’re letting on, like you’re a habitual shoplifter.

It's because shes a pretty consultant who carried out his prostate check in hospital. How could he forget her

To sum up:

After voting Reform you went to B&Q, where a member of staff asked you to leave for stealing something three months ago, you didn't ask what or how he knew it was you, you just left safe in the knowledge that you probably did steal something and he was shaking because you're so attractive. And you found this experience mortifying while at exactly the same time, you didn't give less of a fuck

I am crying with laughter, 😂👏😂👏😂👏😂👏😂👏😂👏😂👏👏👏👏especially the line "he was shaking because you're so attractive"

Matsukaze · 09/05/2026 19:04

Corrected the typo.

I was asked to leave B&Q, mortified
Butterflyvillage · 09/05/2026 19:15

Ah, that explains why the security guards remembered you "stealing" after three months — they obviously don’t get many stunning, beautiful, drop dead gorgeous women in that B&Q.”
😂😂😂😂

It was too embarrassing and the guy said he thought it to be intentional, I don't really want to go back in there anyway. There's screw fix which is better anyway, plus my dad is a tradesman and gets a discount there.

If Screwfix is better, why do you keep going to B&Q?

ThatFairy · 09/05/2026 23:06

You should wear different disguises and keep going back and stealing stuff. It would give us a laugh if nothing else

monkeysox · 09/05/2026 23:09

chickenandapples · 07/05/2026 18:30

I voted Reform actually.

Corresponding level of confusion regarding voting as stealing.

Whatifitallgoesright · 09/05/2026 23:12

You people getting all uppity about her having stolen or not, while Rome burns.

I just wanted to drop that I'm a proud Lloyds Premier card holder, I make about £81,000 per year.

I just wantef to drop that you're coming across as a right knob.

Empress13 · 12/05/2026 18:56

Wow this has taken a turn! OP instead of gloating you should feel ashamed of yourself for being accused (allegedly) of stealing ! Give yer over inflated head a wobble

Do you consult people on how to steal?

Your reaction was quite telling. I think you knew you had stolen something.

Of course she knew. Seems quite proud of herself too.

@Empress13

Stealing requires intent. If, as OP says, she genuinely forgot to scan something, then she didn't steal.

Maybe you don't believe her when she says it was a genuine mistake, but if we go by her post alone, it doesn't qualify as stealing.

giddyaunt19 · 12/05/2026 23:54

I don’t get the piling on that you’re thief. It was an accident.

I am genuinely shocked that they knew it was you after 3 months. I wonder if they’ve got a big picture of you up in the back and when you came back in it was red alert for everyone.

seriously though, go back in and see if anyone approaches you. Ask to see the footage if they do. Did they tell you what you’d “stolen..”?
