Is it correct that the golders green attacker had earlier attacked a Muslim man?

If so is it mental health and not anti semitism? That would be much better for the Jewish community, I think, not to have had an anti semitic attack. However I'm not sure of the facts. But if true it should be advertised to enhance feeling of safety in the community.

I am inclined to agree with you. Once we can see which posts remain after the culling, I'm going to reconsider. The overall message of the OP's posts is that the attacker's mental illness means there was no anti-Semitic motivation for the attack. That to me is anti-Semitic because the attacks were clearly motivated by the declared faith of tge two victims.

Schools - young Jewish children - at risk of attack for being Jewish. Ffs.
On the one hand, I'm delighted they're former marines and paras because these guys are not to be messed with.
On the other hand, I'm horrified because I never thought I'd see the day when this was necessary in GB.

Well done for posting this. I read it this morning and thought of this thread.

The dumbest thing with anti zionists / anti semitic people is that the modern state of Israel was precisely founded to provide a safe haven from anti semitism around the world. Terrorising local communities outside of Israel is sort of an own goal, yeah? Increasingly more Jewish families might well think let's emigrate to Israel then if our children and grand children cannot live their lives in safety and without being threatened or harassed in Europe. Supporting the state of Israel and indeed expansion to accommodate more Jewish incomers will become all the more necessary and desirable.

Basically a hostile climate for European Jews does nothing to achieve whatever anti zionists wish to achieve in Israel and Gaza, on the contrary.

Israel (and the Southern Levant region as a whole) has always been strategically important. It’s why Mohammed chose to base his religion on the Abrahamic one and incorporate rules for conversion or suffer penalties into his new religion. The Abrahamic base (at the time most of the Southern Levant Region was Christian and previously Jewish) was very important because, being a trader he wanted to ensure a route from the Eastern Trade routes to the Mediterranean. It’s why so many Muslim holy sites there sit on top of the Christian and Jewish holy areas.which, of course, leads to tensions..

Now of course Israel isn’t needed for the trade routes Per se but of course Israel is so very important to the West as it provides a base for monitoring the surrounding countries which, like it or not pose a threat to the Western worlds way of life if they moved west. Again the US is, in the flip side targeting Iran because it, again controls trade routes. There is no way the West will give up on Israel and why those who support the wiping out of Israel are desperate to gain political power in the west. Clearly the UK is seen as a soft target for this manipulation.

There are none so blind as those who will not see (yes, OP, I mean you) 2. Mumsnet has set the bar low for the sharing of anti-Semitic views, which it is perfectly entitled to do.

In conclusion, and so there can be no doubt, the attacks in Golders Green were targeted at Jews and are therefore just one component in an escalating wave of anti-Semitism in the UK.

It's such a scary time. Some of my relatives are currently dealing with a neighbour continuously defacing their front gates and surrounding pavement with antisemitic graffiti and stickers. Younger relatives now have to hide their school uniforms and go to school on a private bus service - but antisemites broke into the bus one day and screamed at the terrified children. It is like the stories my great grandmother told, and now it's unfolding in reality, and we are seeing how people refuse to act, or minimise, or agree.
