As this is a developing story it’s worth continuing here

If he can’t work out his need to not spread lies and misinformation about the police’s actions during the arrest of a terrorist and it takes a letter from the Met and being criticised by multiple members of his own party, he’s surely not fit for a leadership role. This is exactly the same type of knee jerk unthinking reaction we see in Trump. Idiot

'Breaking' graphic

Polanski apologises for sharing post criticising police

Green Party leader sorry for sharing post condemning actions of police officers who arrested suspect in Golders Green attack.

No, it isn't worth continuing.

TatianasCabbagePie · 01/05/2026 16:01

Zak Polanski is a deeply disturbed, sinister and dangerous man.

NotAnotherScarf · 01/05/2026 16:02

And his non apology!!! Even his deputy has backed away.

Left wing twattery at its highest... anything the police do is wrong.

Yes. He obviously agrees with the tweet, and regrets sharing it only because of the backlash.

He's a moron

DinoDragon · 01/05/2026 16:31

Following with interest, I was on the previous thread but name changed.

The derailing attempts were utterly tedious.

The direction of the Greens and the conduct of Green politicians is fascinating and appalling to watch.

Well exactly, otherwise why share it in the first place it’s going to be interesting to see what the reaction to his apology is.

An interesting point in the article is that he plays a part in overseeing the Met. He clearly thinks he has some power over MR because of this. But all this has highlighted is that he is in no way objective enough to be in that position to oversee the actions of the Met.

Why are there so many typos in MR's letter? He seems like a moron too.

That’s harsh, not that I noticed them. Good on him for writing to ZP.

Actually he is an incredibly intelligent chap. I’ve interacted with him for various reasons. He was probably (rightly) enraged at the criticism of two of his officers who had just put their lives on the line saving the public from a terrorist. And there’s not “many typos”. You should concentrate on the contents of the letter, and consider why it needed to be written. It’s not the sender but the recipient of the letter we should be criticising.

We need these extreme politicians gone..............before it's too late......

Yeah but you would have thought he'd check it or get someone else to before publishing. His slap dash style doesn't fill me with confidence in the Met.

sunnydisaster · 01/05/2026 16:57

He’s apologised because he’s been told to by his PR team I’m sure. He’s basically abhorrent and a disgrace to Judaism.

Yes, because a few typos are just as bad as undermining antisemitism.

And I'm sure you've never make a spelling mistake in your life.

MR has other far more pressing things on his mind than this letter that needed to be put out

you know like copy cat attacks, rise of violent attacks that the UK terror threat has increased to name a few

its absolutely pathetic the responses of those who support Polanski and his stance

thankfully the vast majority of the population can see him for who he is and what he is about

Exactly!! He’s the worst example of student politics. How on earth he got to be a member of the London Assembly overseeing the Metropolitan Police I can’t fathom.

I think he is way out of his depth and has ‘reached his level of incompetence’ as they say. Arguably he got to that point some time ago. Unfortunately there are enough people who have fallen for his glib style and lies to give him far more power than he should have. I hope everyone wakes up and clocks him for who he is before it’s too late. He seems to be trying to help them with that.

Blahblahblahabla · 01/05/2026 17:10

Honestly I do not like Polanski.

Hes odd at best and charlatan at worst. But evil is a bit strong.

& I think he’s a virtue signalling idiot for his comments. I do not care one bit if the police kick an armed terrorist who has stabbed people.

Why does a couple of typos make MR a moron? Do you think he sat there and typed it out himself?

The person producing this was probably so gobsmacked that ZP’s terrible comms led to the need for the letter.

Cathandkin · 01/05/2026 17:14

Yes, I think he's out of his depth. He's a populist, but not even a particularly good one.
