As this is a developing story it’s worth continuing here

Zac Polanski is going to lead the greens to a really strong election result in this week’s locals because many people agree with green policies, despise the ‘Labour together’ version of the Labour Party and wish to oppose reform. He is a skilled communicator who reaches a large number of people.

This is why everyone is collectively losing their shit about him.

I’m here for it.

Why people fail to understand that you can simultaneously abhor the recent terror attacks, abhor the razing of Gaza and abhor police officers kicking suspects in the head is beyond me. It’s perfectly logical- all three positions come from a disgust of senseless violence.

As has been explained time and time again kicking the terrorist was not senseless it was the correct way to disarm him. On a separate note, he will presumably not have the loveliest time in jail or wherever he ends up being shelved.

ZP is great. He says what many people are thinking but are too scared to say because of the false accusations of antisemitism that are constantly flying around at the moment. I think it would do the world some good to have non Zionist Jew in a position of power.

Do you think it would be good to have people like Tina Ion and Mothin Ali in positions of power?

Cathandkin · Today 10:33

Fair points, @Eskarina1 . It's troubling how this debate has gone.
I don't think Polanski is evil. I think he's not really up to the leadership job at the moment, and is all about sweeping statements. He needs to pause and reflect before making certain comments/tweets. He's not an MP but could do with better advice and media training, that's for sure.

Duvetdayneeded · Today 10:33

Green Party - AKA Islamic party.

DinoDragon · Today 10:36

When it comes to the Greens, some people seem to have an exceptionally high tolerance for hypocrisy and dishonesty. For those of us who can see through it, once we notice, we (not hard) can't unsee it. I expect more from politicians, especially those who claim to stand for ethical, just, accountable and peaceful politics. Which obviously the Greens proclaim but not put into practice at all.

ThatCyanCat · Today 10:38

People who are still complaining about the police doing what they had to do to eliminate the extreme and real and immediate threat to life posed by the stabber are honestly just showing their complete ignorance by this point. The officers did exactly what they were supposed to do and everyone who matters knows it. Not worth worrying about.

People who still vote Green after what they've been shown to be are showing ignorance and worse. That is worrying, but It might be useful to know which areas have enough of such people as to have Green councillors elected in.

I think the Greens flew under the radar for a while with their sexism, misogyny and perversion because for a long time anyone who criticised gender ideology or was openly GC was totally silenced and smothered, as in the Greens, so it wasn't unusual. Now the antisemitism is surfacing too, they're getting seen for the racist, Reform Mark II party that they now are. The political spectrum isn't a line, it's a horseshoe, and the ends are starting to connect.

Various Green Party candidates helpfully showing their true colours with plenty of antisemitism on SM.

Sadly, there are lots of antisemitic people that will love the Greens for this. You see them marching past Jewish areas each week.

Cathandkin · Today 10:40

Horseshoe indeed. Or as one poster put it:
"Reform and the Greens are 2 cheeks of the same arse".

Unfortunately, very true. We've seen them on this site, too, with their lies and their minimising of antisemitism. It's a vile tide to try to push back.

False accusations of antisemitism!

Antisemitism has risen hugely in the UK its not false.

Jewish people in the UK are being attacked. That's reality. Jewish schools require huge security, others schools don't.

Do you really understand the threats UK Jewish people face. Why pretend it's false.

Why deny what is true?

And he had his hands under him, wearing a large padded coat on a warm day, which would have been a potential warning sign of him wearing an explosive vest! Honestly, this has been explained time and time again. What is it about the multiple explanations that have been given you don’t understand?

What you don't realise about disarming a non compliant knifeman who won't release the weapon he's proved he will use and who could be carrying a bomb could fill this entire thread. No action will be taken against those heroic officers who risked their lives for people including the likes of you because everyone who matters realises everything. Even your dear leader had to retract his crap about it, that's how ignorant it was.

Anyway, you can keep barking if you want. It's now an irreievance.

He still had the knife and refused to let it go, police were in danger. He'd already killed one person and attacked two others. Very dangerous situation. Cotton wool approach doesn't work

Whysnothingsimple · Today 10:52

He’s talking about the police behaviour. Not Jewish people.

We can see what he’s doing though, making an anti semite terrorist suspect into a victim. It’s called. Distraction technique.

Completely. Even Zack Polanski had the wit to retract that ludicrous sm post, and he's hardly the most informed person.
He probably thought it was a George Floyd moment he could capitalise on. He was wrong.

It's deflection, derailment, distraction and disingenuousness, and it's all they've got.

Unfortunately, it's going to be enough in some quarters, but the silver lining is that we will soon see which quarters those are, and once they're fully out like genital warts, well... you know what they say about sunlight.

Correction on point of fact: he didn't manage to kill anyone, thank goodness. All three people he stabbed are alive.

What is it what many people would like to say but don’t, because they might be accused of antisemitism?
And why would it be so good to have a non Zionist Jew in position of power? What is Zionism in your opinion?

Good questions.

What is it this non antisemites want to say but cannot. The Green Party already had 2 candidates arrested for hate speech, do they want to be allowed more hate speech?

A non zionist in power, why is this so important in the UK?

Does poster must think Jewish people are a threat, unless they say they are non zionist. Strange times.

In what world do you think the accusations of anti semitism are false? It is rife throughout the Green Party, Zach is a nice useful front for them, but we know from history that Jews can be collaborators with anti semites. Hitler was also very popular with voters. Would you have voted for him? Or would there have been something that would have stopped you doing that?
