As this is a developing story it’s worth continuing here

My mistake, I thought the earlier victim died. Thanks for the correction 😊

As a matter of interest, why did you think the person had died? Where has that been reported?

ZP is great. He says what many people are thinking but are too scared to say because of the false accusations of antisemitism that are constantly flying around at the moment. I think it would do the world some good to have non Zionist Jew in a position of power.

Nothing to see. No antisemitism, just false eh. The Green Party have a number of anti semitic people as candidates. People are starting to see that now.

Antisemitism leads to these type of attacks in the UK, its never acceptable:

"2 October, 2025: Two Jewish people were killed and three left in a serious condition after a car ramming and stabbing attack outside a synagogue in Manchester. One of the men was killed by a bullet fired by police.

23 March: Four Jewish charity-owned ambulances were set on fire in the car park of a synagogue in Golders Green

15 April: A brick and two bottles thought to contain petrol were thrown at the Finchley Reform Synagogue in north London

17 April: Suspicious items, later found to be non-hazardous, were found near the Israeli embassy in London. A video posted to social media claimed the embassy was going to be attacked by drones

18 April: A bottle containing a type of accelerant was thrown through the window of Kenton United Synagogue in north-west London

27 April: A suspected arson attack was carried out at a memorial wall in Golders Green. The wall contained tributes to people killed by the Iranian regime during anti-government protests earlier this year, as well as a section to those killed in the 2023 Hamas attack on Israel:

I don't recall exactly, but it was online somewhere, it was obviously incorrect though.

It's deflection, derailment, distraction and disingenuousness, and it's all they've got.

Unfortunately, it's going to be enough in some quarters, but the silver lining is that we will soon see which quarters those are, and once they're fully out like genital warts, well... you know what they say about sunlight.

I don’t actually want to get into arguing with you but I do like the idea of both liberal values and nuanced conversation so I am going to try.

Here are some things it is possible to believe at the same time:

  1. These stabbings, and the thinking that led to them, are appalling and the perpetrator should face punishment and never be allowed to do any such thing again. Our society cannot tolerate these behaviours.
  2. A perpetrator can also have been a victim of something- whether that be failings of mental health services, institutional racism or police brutality. That can also be part of the conversation, or how is such an event to be avoided in the future? (Either an antisemitic attack OR, as also sadly frequently occurs, an attack by a man known to prevent and/ or mental health services)

it would be great if the world was like a simple monochrome drawing but it isn’t

inamarina · Today 11:26

Good questions.

What is it this non antisemites want to say but cannot. The Green Party already had 2 candidates arrested for hate speech, do they want to be allowed more hate speech?

A non zionist in power, why is this so important in the UK?

Does poster must think Jewish people are a threat, unless they say they are non zionist. Strange times.

A non zionist in power, why is this so important in the UK?

Not just the UK, the whole world would apparently benefit from it according to pp.
I wonder how they arrived at the conclusion that the belief in Jewish people’s right to self-determination in their ancestral homeland (quite a tiny piece of land if you look at the map) is creating issues worldwide and a non-Zionist UK leader would somehow make it better for everyone.

He might also have been victim of brain washing by an ideology which sees Jews as the enemy and that Jewish people don’t have the right to return to their homeland. And Judaism is the oldest culture still in existence associated with the South Levant. It was only due to a number of successive conquests and exiles in the area which forced out that culture.

Point 1 is so obvious and uncontested that it's actually concerning that you think you need to say it, even as you wibble on about nuance. At any rate, it's only throat clearing for point 2, which is the same deflection, distraction and so on that we spoke about before, because it's actually a separate issue from dealing with an immediate and real threat to life in the moment, which the officers did exactly as they should have done. Even your Poundshop Riddler leader has had to admit it. Everyone who matters realises it, and it's a total irrelevance now, which is exactly why you need to keep barking on about it.

I think someone ought to tell you that just because you say you deal in nuance and truth and honour and stuff like that, doesn't mean you actually do, or that people can't see that you don't.

Anyway, bring on the sunlight.

I could not believe what I was seeing this morning on sky news.

Zach being told that his experiences as a Jewish person don’t count because they’re not the right ones. Disgusting.

ThatCyanCat · Today 11:43

You know, I don't know what I'd call it when someone says that stabbings can't be tolerated (that's nice of you!) but also bitches endlessly when unarmed police do exactly what's necessary to stop them, at huge risk to themselves, as affirmed by literally everyone who actually knows about this stuff.

I can think of a few words, but I don't think "nuanced" would be one of them.

He was on sky news. He openly asked Trevor Phillips why his Jewish identity was being erased and Trevor responded with a very aggressive “don’t try that one on me”, I was disgusted.

As has been explained time and time again kicking the terrorist was not senseless it was the correct way to disarm him. On a separate note, he will presumably not have the loveliest time in jail or wherever he ends up being shelved.

There are plenty of ways to de escalate a situation and keep people safe from a man who has just been tasered lying on the floor with a knife. Don’t get close enough to be stabbed would be one easy, non violent solution, There was no need to kick a mentally ill man in the head.

That people are seeking to justify it is terrifying for society as a whole.

ThatCyanCat · Today 11:53

Guys... I know it's tempting, but don't give them what they want. By this point it's so transparent it's embarrassing, even the Poundshop tit whispering Riddler has accepted the reality after Mark Rowley publicly spanked him about it, so they're not even trying to show solidarity to that horrible party by this point. They're just endlessly flinging and reflinging every dead cat they can find to deflect and distract from the misogyny and antisemitism. Don't play into it any more, it makes them happy.

Gonna go enjoy my Sunday.

Don’t get close enough to get stabbed? They are Police officers not members of the public. Their job is to disarm and detain him in order to stop him from attacking anyone else. How exactly do you expect them to detain anyone without getting close enough to risk being stabbed? He’s hardly going to handcuff himself.

What about that plot by those men (supported by Iran) who imported automatic weapons and were planning the mass murder of Jews (and others) at a peaceful march in Manchester. It would have been one of the worst terrorist attacks ever.

Fair point. I have to laugh at people on their sofas imagining that they could disarm someone intent on murder, better than officers trained in the methods by specialist officers 😂
Ludicrous.

Oh, and what did the Iranian Ambassador to the UK do?
Call for "Martyrdom".
Iranian groups have already claimed responsibility for most of these racist acts noted upthread.

'Don’t get close enough to get stabbed' reminds me of the advice Henriette Reker, the Mayor of Cologne gave women following the 2015/16 New Year’s Eve sexual assaults: 'To keep a certain distance (to the potential attackers) that is more than an arm’s length.'

Absolutely! ‘Eine Armlänge Abstand' (one arm’s length distance) is still a running joke in Germany.
