AIBU to expect my sister to store my bike briefly?

On Friday I bought a new bike off marketplace. I currently have my old bike in my hallway as I need to clean it up and sell it so I took my new bike to my sisters and popped it in the hallway. She was at work so I sent her a message saying I’ve temporarily put a bike in her hallway and it will be moved in about a weeks time. Didn’t hear anything back until evening when she messaged telling me to come and move the bike. I told her I had nowhere to put it until I sell my old one but reassured her I’d be cleaning it up over weekend and will list it on Monday.

Yesterday morning she sent another message saying her husband was fuming about the bike saying it was “ruining their hallway” and he wanted it moved. I said it will be moved asap.

This morning I got up to see my new bike sat in front of my house on the driveway. I’ve messaged her and she said she didn’t do it, her husband did. So I said I’m bringing it back as it can’t stay on the driveway because obviously it will get stolen!! Not to mention weather damage. She replied saying not to bring it back or her DH will simply leave it in the street.

Im fuming because there has been many times they have stored stuff at my house and I’ve had to just work around it.

Anyway they have a keyboard at my house and I’ve told her either the bike gets stored there for a few days max or the keyboard goes to live outside. She’s not replied yet.

AIBU?? I could get my bike sold by Wednesday.

This is nuts. Why didn’t you ask her first?

You obviously are not close with your sister
and now your bike is cluttering up her hallway

100% with your sister

you are rude, inconsiderate and a bit of a twat I suspect

Edited

She obviously is close to her sister that she has a key to go round and randomly drop things off and for the sister to be so honest with her

OP it sounds as if you sort of live in each others pockets, things over at yours, things over at theirs, its fine if everyones happy with it and the husband clearly isnt, which is his right

I wouldnt like a bike stored in my hallway either

Dont buy stuff unless you have a plan for where its going to go

If this is all true of course

Yep!! And the same poster wanging on about the main bathroom on holiday! 🤭

Really? Oh FFS! OP, take the hint from all your previous threads. If you have to ask on here, yes you're being unreasonable!

Each new thread becomes more and more entitled 🙄

Ohthatsabitshit · 19/04/2026 08:26

Ty he keyboard going home and a bike in its place till Wednesday sounds perfectly reasonable. Why not do that?

JeopardyLeopardy · 19/04/2026 08:26

Don't you need to use the new bike straight away so the old one is kept clean to sell?

OnlyMabelInTheBuilding · 19/04/2026 08:26

Oh god it’s you. The candle-blowing bathroom grabber. Now also a bike dumper.

Betterbyfar · 19/04/2026 08:28

Heads up posters… this Op is very peculiar. As in…. Very fuc@ing weird indeed.

What, for buying a bike and expecting my sister to help me store it for a few days? Yeah ok 🙄

I was about to post that this is a reverse, but seeing who the OP is I change my opinion to - this is bullshit

Is this the sister whose young son had a birthday party and you blew out the candles on his cake?

If it is why do you think it's acceptable to put a bike in her hallway when she has small children running round and possibly getting hurt by it if it topples over?

thewonderfulmrswatson · 19/04/2026 08:30

AliceNotInChains · 19/04/2026 08:11

Where exactly??

As we say in Ireland, up ya arse on the second shelf.

Helpwithdivorce · 19/04/2026 08:30

You’re both massive cheeky fuckers. But regardless you need to keep the bike in your house. Take the keyboard round and leave it outside in a similar fashion and put one of your bikes in its place

Dollymylove · 19/04/2026 08:31

I was on your sisters side until I learned about the large keyboard currently living at your gaff. Give her till 5pm tonight or its going on her doorstep

Kepler22B · 19/04/2026 08:31

Given you don’t like your sister very much and always seem to be falling out with her, your lives are far too enmeshed.

NoYouCantComeToTheWedding · 19/04/2026 08:32

Why did you buy another bike if you had nowhere to put it? It should have been a one out, one in situation.

BudgetBuster · 19/04/2026 08:32

Yes..
Why do you EXPECT things?

You shouldn't have bought a bike you cannot store.

Also your threads on here have been nothing but rude and entitled against your sister and her family so I can see why they might not be the most forthcoming.

OnlyMabelInTheBuilding · 19/04/2026 08:26

Ahh! This all makes sense now.

tanstaafl · 19/04/2026 08:33

Take the front wheel off the new bike and store it in front of the piano.
Tell sister to send her husband around to pick up the piano.

If you have a car, store bike in the car; take front wheel off , put back seats down.

Put towels in the bath, take front wheel off, store bike there.

cloudsinmycopy · 19/04/2026 08:33

Reverse.

Laserwho · 19/04/2026 08:33

AliceNotInChains · 19/04/2026 08:28

No I won’t be using it until next weekend

Then maybe you should have got it after the sold the old bike

Wolfiefan · 19/04/2026 08:33

You ask.
You don’t let yourself into their house and block the hall with your bike.

OriginalSkang · 19/04/2026 08:35

There is no possible way someone would continue to post ridiculous threads about their sister when they get this same response every time if they were a genuine poster

Delete away, mods. Sorry

Laserwho · 19/04/2026 08:37

You don't leave your bike in someone's hallway esp when they have small children who could be hurt by it. Do you really have so little sense?
