I think I’d actually chin someone I I saw them cut a pea in half.

AintNoPunshineWhenShesGone · 05/04/2026 20:45

She did not cut her peas in half lol.

Nsky62 · 05/04/2026 20:46

Just ignore it

Hatty65 · 05/04/2026 20:46

Was she a surgeon previously? That's some impressive skilled pea work!

Nah I don’t care about what anyone else eats. Let them go hungry and enjoy your meal 🤷‍♀️

MovedlikeHarlowinMonteCarlo · 05/04/2026 20:47

There quite a few women who like to brag how small their appetite is. I don't get it. It's not impressive and half the time it's not even true.

Fine if they kept it to themselves but they have to let everyone know and comment how they can't understand how the rest of us can eat so much.

EachandEveryone · 05/04/2026 20:48

This is my mother exactly. Been like that all her life along with her four sisters. I wonder what triggers it shes in her 70’s. If you get a piece of cake from a cafe she will go on and on before asking for another fork to help you eat it.

youalright · 05/04/2026 20:49

Just laugh and take the piss out of her thats what I'd do but my family are like that i suppose it depends how your family are in general

Bettercallsalli · 05/04/2026 20:49

She literally did cut a pea in half..she knew i was watching. It's done on purpose and trust me, it's a skill she has perfected.

This is so true.

piscesaries · 05/04/2026 20:50

my mum
does the same. baby voice of how she's always full and how little she eats. when we go out she never orders food and instead waits for our left overs and even if we're hungry we have to leave her some. it enrages me 🤣

PoppinjayPolly · 05/04/2026 20:51

I’m twisted… I’d play her at her own game.. eat before you see her so not hungry… plate her food up, and be very “gosh… I had such a huge breakfast… I can’t imagine eating just now.. “ as you poke a few slices of cucumber around the plate, and smile sanctimoniously!

Rachelshair · 05/04/2026 20:51

Do you give her giant peas she has to cut up? Just ignore her, it's rude to not appreciate food!

EmeraldShamrock000 · 05/04/2026 20:51

Surely you are exaggerating. Maybe you should nod and get on with your meal. Why are you so triggered. I'm slim, I hate people watching how much I eat when out for a meal, yes, it happens by people who are triggered by slim people.
So what if she commented that she was full. Not a crime.
I ate most of my meal last night in the restaurant and two different overweight family members commented "oh I'm surprised you ate so much" 2nd person = "She must have missed breakfast". I wanted to say MYOB fatty.
Concentrate on your own plate.

I mean older people sometimes have smaller appetites? My DH’s parents were like this in their late 60s onward. “I can’t eat all of this” “Such big portions” at a Sunday pub lunch.

zantez · 05/04/2026 20:53

Bon appetit, and mother don't you fkn start with your tiny rations lecture ok. Eat up folks, mum is doing her usual trick, but goes home and eats a pack of doughnuts all to herself.

SergeantWrinkles · 05/04/2026 20:53

My mum does similar. Also drives me nuts. You have my sympathy

Bombombomtralala · 05/04/2026 20:53

How old is she?

You’re one of them, clearly. What an obnoxious post.

Lots of women who were in their 20s in the 1970s are like this. My mum is. Diet culture/penis portions/Jane Fonda workout videos/everyone wanting to look like Jamie Lee Curtis in a Leotard. It's like a pathological need not to look "greedy" in front of other people but then "giving in" to a little bit of dessert.

Bettercallsalli · 05/04/2026 20:56

She is 75 but she literally had a small piece of salmon, 2 potatoes (she left 1). A sppon of peas and some cauliflower cheese.
Not exactly a heaving plate full.

Good grief,
Completely missed the point.
I didn't comment on their body or meal because unlike others I understand that you should not pass remarks on someone else body or appetite.
