Why so upset about UK (lack of) involvement?

If the US armed forces are the greatest military force ever assembled, as we’re led to believe, why is Trump getting so angsty about the UK and Europe not getting involved? Surely he doesn’t need us.

Also, if our aircraft carriers are toys and we’re generally a bit rubbish, as he suggests, why would he want our help anyway?

It’s really got under his skin.

AIBU to think he’s just talking a load of old bollocks?

I have extended family in the U.S. The costs of food is quite a bit higher than ours in Europe. They don't have the social backup that we do- often if your job stops you don' have medical insurance or social security. Their taxes are high.
But America pays in a large part for Nato. It has said for many years that Europe should pay at least what they have committed to but they mostly haven't and the American taxpayer has had to make up the shortfall.
where do all those on here blaming American taxpayer for not liking this situation think our responsibility starts?? maybe paying a bit less in a fabulous benefits system and taking a bit more responsibility ourselves for our own defence. Trump is right on this point in my opinion.

Plus, how much of their tax money do these dimwits think that Trump is spending on bombing other countries? The people still supporting him are utterly abhorrent.

Earlier this evening he said they can't afford spending on day care, Medicare, Medicaid because they are fighting wars.

The nicest explanation is that he's an absolute, weapons-grade moron.

The worse - which would be consistent with his Russia/Ukraine stance, tarrifs, Greenland threats, and various speeches given my him and others in his administration, is that the US is actively seeking to destabilize Europe and is far more aligned with Russia.

Either way, fuck the US.

This post is absolutely fucking wild.

The US military isn’t some video game character with unlimited range and instant teleport. Geography is a thing. Logistics are a thing. Time is a thing. You don’t just snap your fingers and appear everywhere at once with fuel, intel, supply chains, and regional access magically handled.

That’s literally why alliances exist.

It’s not about “needing help because you’re weak,” it’s about not being stupid. Forward bases, shared intel, staging points, regional knowledge—those all come from allies. You want to operate in Europe or near it? Cool, you’re working with Europe. That’s how the real world works.

Acting like the US should just solo everything from across an ocean isn’t strength, it’s a misunderstanding of how modern military operations even function.

Like… god damn, this isn’t Call of Duty.

That’s literally the point that poster is making: Trump thinks this is a game when the reality is that he’s royally fucked up.

Gas prices are also going up in America. The MAGA idiots think that they’re fine because America has its own supply. Wrong. Oil is global market. What happens is that a small handful of oil companies get rich, while the average American pays through the nose. Not to mention the general inflation and interest rate hikes that they will likely face.

We just have to leave him to it now. Either way we are screwed, but it's insanity to try to cosy up to him after he's done this. We will just have to deal with the fallout of his shit decisions and of ours (Brexit.)

The irony being that universal healthcare would be cheaper for the US than the present system
