Hair too long for age? Chop it off!?

Interested in opinions. Please be patient while image is in review. I’m 52, is this inappropriate, will I end up looking like a witch 😊?

Here’s mine. Just too ‘does its own thing’ to have short.

I think you have lovely hair. Such a wonderful colour and even though you may not “do” much with it, you could, if you wanted to!

Keep it. I have long hair now, after years of short styles. I get compliments often.

63. Love my hair. Most of the time, it’s under a cap. It’s not hard work. Don’t dry it, just leave it be. It IS poker straight though and I always wanted curls 🤣

I’m 54 and have similar length hair.
I’ve always had long hair, but two years ago the hairdresser cut off 10 inches!! I was horrified and the shorter hair didn’t feel like me. I’ve spent two years growing it back, and now realize that almost waist-length (with layers) is my favorite style on me.

Your hair is gorgeous, don’t cut it. Who decided women shouldn’t have long hair after a certain age? My grandmother had very long hair most of her adult life right up until she died. It was always gorgeous and in beautiful condition.

It's beautiful and a perfect length to style in so many ways, if you wanted to. As long as hair is in fabulous condition, long hair looks great at any age.

You have lovely hair and age is but a number but if I were being picky I’d just chop a couple of inches off but that’s just my preference. Same with KM’s hair I think it’s just a tad too long

Gosh I’m mid fifties mines Same length, it has never occurred to me I should have it cut off due to my age, how odd.

Mine, mid fifties, it’s staying and I see no reason to go short. Lots of older women have long hair now. It’s genuinely never occurred to me I should cut it off.

I am at a conference and there are plenty of older women with long hair.

Don't be daft op. Do what makes you happy..you don't have to follow code. I'm 61 with hair past my waist 😊 I get positive comments when I wear it down.

I don’t think it’s a thing anymore. A few years ago, I got divorced. My hair dropped out in handfuls to the point where my lovely hairdresser started suggesting different styles. It’s the only time I really considered having it cut but stuck a hat on it and hoped for the best ! I’m 63 now. My picture above shows me looking (fairly) stress free and with my hair 75% restored.

OP, do what you’re happy with. It is just hair; it will grow back but don’t let age be the deciding factor.
