Anyone being a dick will get reported to my pals mnhq - this is a thread to bash men and other annoying members of the public - not to shame mums or children! x

I was quite up for this until I saw that distinction. Not so keen any more now lines are drawn.

Including those who cover their mouths with their hand while continuing to talk.

I prefer that to someone chewing frantically, jerking their head from side to side and pointing at their mouth while squeaking mmmmmhhhhmmmmm! until they can answer properly.

Nobody should be allowed to vote unless they can name 3 policies in the manifesto of the party they are voting for.

I cannot imagine this being an unpopular opinion either!

How was I supposed to know it was about Crocs?

You weren’t supposed to know, that’s the point I was making. It very clearly wasn’t some piece of literary wisdom I was imparting. Why would I make a thread longer and irritate people who hate unnecessary quoting, when it was something so insignificant and I was only addressing two people rather than the entire thread?

And I’m going to reiterate, I am not arguing with you about fucking Crocs, so either stop it now, or stop talking to me.

Crushed23 · 18/03/2026 00:18

Strong views on how other women give birth, feed their baby or balance career & parenthood are batshit and reek of insecurity.

Giraffehaver · 18/03/2026 00:18

It is not wrong to tell your aunt at a family wedding your ex is at that he met his current wife whilst shagging around during your marriage

I don’t think the OP will take out an injunction.

And if she tries, we’ll all be rooting for you.

that society needs to get over the idea of democracy when half of it is peoples way of saying there way or not at all, as to me thats not democracy and whats the point in democracy if they only read newspaper headlines ?

If your insomnia was cured by ‘good sleep hygiene’, you didn’t really have insomnia

Yep I've frequently thought that all this 'sleep hygiene' guff is a load of wanky bollocks.

Giraffehaver · 18/03/2026 00:23

@RedRec you've never experienced the delight of a cold nose up your bum at 4am?

It's time to bring back fox hunting

Why?

Isittimeformynapyet · 18/03/2026 00:25

@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne

Totally agree about posters tagging without quoting. Looks like you touched a nerve there! 😂

usedtobeaylis · 18/03/2026 00:26

The only thing worse than theatre kids, is theatre parents. Sorry!

I worry about the children of parents who constantly bang on about their child 'smashing it' on social media. I wonder what it's like when the child doesn't 'smash it'.

Isittimeformynapyet · 18/03/2026 00:29

I wish there was a thumbs down emoji on here so I can let someone know I disagree with them without getting the obligatory OTT response.

Yes. And yet it was I who was accused of having had a bad day.

Overnight oats are vile.
Actually, so are chia seeds.

And omelettes.

People who say they NEVER eat ANY ultra-processed foods are either lying or extremely boring.

I have a related unpopular opinion on this subject, which is that the fear of UPFs is massively disproportionate and that people who insist they never eat them are (along with people who are scared of sugar) basically just people who have eating disorders. Any food thread on Mumsnet is always absolutely rife with people with anorexia and orthorexia who are just validating each other.

BauhausOfEliott · 18/03/2026 00:39

Your DH who ‘doesn’t look at porn’ definitely looks at porn.

Hard agree.

My 2p:

There's something faintly ridiculous about grown men who carry their snooker cues around with them in a little case.

Isadora2007 · 17/03/2026 23:29

I think it’s probably because my exH is into that kind of stuff and thinks of himself as a superior human as a result. But I see it as someone who spends an inordinate amount of time and attention on themselves and so it is selfish. And they always want to tell people. Yuck.

Absolutely this. One of my old school friends is a marathon runner, quite obsessive and it used to irk me how much time she seemed to obsess over her PBs, next one she was running, how many she had ticked off her list of 50 to run before she'd turned 50. 😳

I've got to say, I admired her dedication and tenacity in some ways, but found it so boring in others as all she ever updated me on was her best time, career/job issues, or the next person she thought about dating. I never dared say how dull I found her running/Garmin watch obsession but I used to think it occasionally.

I have run half marathons in the past and was a keen hockey player when younger so I have been into sport, but never felt others would care that much about it.

BauhausOfEliott · 18/03/2026 00:40

Your child who ‘wouldn’t lie about something like this’ would definitely lie about something like this.

patooties · 18/03/2026 00:40

I don’t be believe half the ‘what’s your meal plan / what did you have for dinner’ responses.

nobody in the world can eat that many oat milk chia seeds with pumpkin and kale. NOBODY.
