Pink hair looks appalling on absolutely anyone.

People who turn vegan in middle age after decades of being just vegetarian are massive pains in the arse. Even more so when every extended family gathering now has to be vegan. I like cooking and it's a nightmare making vegan puddings and cakes, they always have the ubiquitous undertone of coconut. Vegan milk chocolate, vegan butter and cheese are disgusting. And I'm sick of being lectured about how appalling I am for eating meat and dairy products.

No, going to bed at 9pm and getting up at 5am does not make you an intrinsically better person than someone who goes to bed at 2am and gets up at 10.

I don’t be believe half the ‘what’s your meal plan / what did you have for dinner’ responses.

nobody in the world can eat that many oat milk chia seeds with pumpkin and kale. NOBODY.

And even if they do, you so know they’re keeping the Maccies they had for lunch quiet 🤫

The more I read about Mumsnetters’ opinions on sex and sexual attraction, the more I am convinced that a hell of a lot of married women are colossally in denial about the fact that they’re asexual or repressed lesbians, and only married a man because they wanted a baby.

People who campaigned for the laugh emoji to be removed as they couldn't cope with a bit of piss taking need to have a word with themselves.

I agree with this, I mean, people have done it to me and it’s annoying, but… yeah, removing it is weird!

I reckon they park their car in a lay-by on their way home and binge-eat Fox’s Party Rings and Monster Munch.

If you ‘don’t want to be THAT parent’, simply don’t be that parent.

Batties · 18/03/2026 00:53

Mine is that people who start these types of ‘unpopular opinions’ never do so from a good place.

GentleHedgehog · 18/03/2026 00:54

Men who go on violent rampages and it's put down to mental health issues, never seem to go on the rampage near a gym, a football club, a rugby club, a martial arts club. In fact anywhere strong men are to be found.

I posted about being raped. 2 posters on the thread kept leaving laughing emojis. When I asked them to stop they left more. I’m made of quite strong stuff, but I posted asking for help. Knowing that people found it funny means I will never make that mistake again. They wouldn’t have done it if other posters could see they were laughing.

I know similar happened to people talking about their child’s disabilities. One woman was laughed at when talking about miscarriage.

Anyone who thinks being able to leave a laughing emoji is more important than the distress MN users were experiencing needs to check their empathy levels

MNetters who announce “I didn’t want to read and run” before imparting their wisdom, really aren’t as important as they like to sound.

No-one knows or cares so no need to make it sound as though you’re doing the OP a favour, by taking time out of your busy life.

I’ve never said that! But I always understood the meaning of that phrase to be I didn’t want to just read and move to the next thread as yours actually resonated with me! How funny

There's emojis for letting the OP know that though. It's always looked a bit attention-seeky to me.

AInightingale · 18/03/2026 01:18

I've never got 'cleavage' or why women feel the need to expose half their breasts to anyone. What's the point of it.

But an emoji is just an emoji! There could be words or experiences to share that resonate!?!! Sort of the whole point of saying “I didn’t want to run and read” comes across to me as this has impacted me also here’s how I can relate and sympathise

I thought we moved past the idea of telling woman the way in which she should or shouldn’t dress.

My BiL was of much the same opinion as me, then he got a pair for around the house, then he was just nipping to the local shop in them, and now he only takes them off his feet to put golf shoes on. They’re insidious. I’m too frightened to ever try a pair on in case the same thing happens to me.

I always loathed Crocs, the ugliest shoes ever made, and swore I would never wear them.

Which shoes are worse than Crocs?

Primark knock offs, and they are now almost never off my feet 🤦‍♀️

Well, I don't 'tell' anyone how to dress or say it out loud, obviously. I just don't understand it.

Bertiebiscuit · 18/03/2026 01:40

Well, Meghan anyway.

You don’t have to understand it. It’s not your business.

Beards are ugly, unhygienic and just show how lazy men are, can't be arsed to shave - and often cover up weak chins 🤮

For lots of men it’s part of their religion, nothing to do with laziness.

People who let dogs sleep in their beds have weird standards of hygiene.

I let my dog sleep in my bed. In fact - I don’t let, I insist.

i think you’re right 🤣🤣🤣

Yes but why the announcement?

The OP won’t know or care whether someone considered moving to another thread before posting.

It’s like they’re supposed to be grateful they didn’t 🤷‍♀️

Bertiebiscuit · 18/03/2026 01:49

Saw a not young bloke wearing day glo orange crocs the other day - i couldn't stop staring and wondering if he was colour blind or if his mum just dresses him funny. He had really big feet, it was scarey.

That said, if a man is wearing bike shorts, I can't help but take a quick look at the front lump they cover 🤭

I absolutely 100% deny I have ever done this. Seriously, not ever. Not even today on the way to the shops. Not even the time that man streaked round the roundabout at the bypass. No, not me, never.
