To watch Silent Witness despite it being the worst TV show ever?

I’ve always watched it. It’s a Winter to Spring habit. Nikki is wooden and has never become a real character and the introduction of Jack… 😳
But this season is beyond- Jack’s pirates of the Caribbean makeover, Nikki staring thoughtfully into the distance and spouting some poetic existential lines. It’s the worst. And I can’t stop watching.

Oh and they have GOLD SILK SHEETS!! Wtf

I’ve never seen a single episode…it was on my list to watch one day…but maybe that day will never come! 😂

Every series ends with me vowing not to watch the next one and every new series sees me think well it can't be as bad as the last one, I'll give it a go. I end up watching the lot despite thinking oh god its worse than ever. I think I need an intervention.

The early ones with Amanda Burton were great and I liked Clarissa and Jack, but I stopped watching it after Nikki was getting kidnapped every other episode.

It’s crap but it’s watchable crap. It’s getting more and more cringey though with the Nikki and Jack sexy scenes, really not needed.

Seen it once on the Amanda Burton years. So tedious I didn’t make it through a whole episode!

You're right, it's so obviously pretend. Not a shred of real life there at all. Jack lied his head off and no one cares. Of course he could have easily killed that bloke but Nikki couldn't give a fig, as long as she can shag him non stop.

But, like you, I'm transfixed. And I love Maggie Steed.

Oh I know! I’ve watched it for years now. It’s a magnet somehow, those few double episodes each year. There’s no way Nikki and Jack would work in real life. Do real life forensic scientists investigate and solve crime? Can one woman be dressed by Boden alone? Can I get a piano in my office? Why are forensic crime suits so uncomfortably tight on the tummy? But still I get excited when I know the knew series is coming?!

The story lines are getting more and more ridiculous. The one where Jack ended up in prison?!
But I do like the new characters Kit and Harriet.
And I am very envious of Nikki’s hair!

I love it! I love the title music. When I’m in the mood I try to sing along. It’s SO unbelievable and silly and gory in small doses. I love the cliche police roles. I am finding Jack’s dyed hair very distracting - that might be a step too far. I always love Nikki’s hair - imagine being a pathologist and needing to go do some pathology stuff and being able to double French plait your hair perfectly within a few mins! May SW continue forever!

I want to know how Jack just went back to his job after episode 7 & 8

Really?! I'm confused by Nikki's hair, I don't really know what it's trying to be. The oddness of it occupies my mind enough to dilute the ridiculousness of the storylines. Same for Jack's face. That's also very confusing. What has he done to it?

I am so pleased that other people simultaneously watch and loathe it 😆 Nikki’s hair and a lot of her clothes are lovely. Harriet is great. Storylines start off as though they’re going to cover some relevant current issue and then just fart out some trite crap.

‘New’ series soz. And, how does Nikki have the time to French plait her hair when most of us would bung it in a ponytail before an autopsy? But still I love it.

I've not watched SW since about series 6 but after reading your description I'm tempted to tune back in 😅

I think the episodes were skewed due to a real life incident in Birmingham weren’t they. One minute Jack had badly dyed facial hair then he didn’t. And the racists at the gym storyline got skewed. Jack was beaten by them and then that’s it. Odd

Anyway, roll on next spring and new Silent Witness 🤣

We love silent Shitness for all the reasons you’ve said. We watch it simply to laugh at its utter ridiculousness.

Nikki's philosophising has taken the badness up a notch. I shan't be watching again. If only we could return to Amanda Burton and her righteous indignation every single episode.

I do like the new females though that have joined the team they bring more personality to the show

I haven't watched it properly in years (not since they killed off Thomas), I loved the Nikki/Harry era, I wish they got together, Jack is nice but not a patch on Harry.

I’ve watched every single episode - Amanda Burton was amazing. I really liked the Nicky/Jack relationship to begin with but can’t take him seriously now. There have been so many assistants that I’ve really liked but I hope they keep Kitt, she’s sassy and very funny

Loving all the comments on here 🤣 This series has been the worst so far in terms of continuity of story line , Jack’s in particular.
I also really like Harriet and her piano , Kit is a great addition.
Nikky’s French plaiting takes up a lot of brain space for me every episode also 🤣
My husband and I are always waiting for Jack to ‘find something small’ every episode that instantly solves the case !

Love watching, but agree irritating at times.Nikki and Jack smooching every chance they get.would that be allowed in the workplace. Jack is a professional guy ,would he really be a cage fighter.Nikki is pretty but seems eternally 25 with her plaits.! Still tune in each series!
