Please include photos/rightmove links so I can judge your tastes!

Me - I am watching Owning Manhattan, planning my life after winning £100,000,000 (I dream modestly) - and would live in a NY skyscraper!

Something like this: https://111w57.com/

Please do share/judge my excellent taste 😌

111 West 57th Street

111 West 57th Street is the premier residential property in Manhattan offering extraordinary views and an unparalleled level of privacy and highly-personalized services.

This would be one of my many abodes. I’d also have a villa in St.Johns in the US Virgin Islands amongst other places 😍

I'd be torn between something like this
https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/167792321#/?channel=RES_BUY
and The Barbican. Think I'd pick De Beauvoir even though I've always wanted to live in Barbican. I'd fine-tune the exact house to one with an annexe for my nephew though, this was just one that leaped out at me. (Btw this listing has a ridiculous amount of photos - those meaningless "lifestyle" ones that means I won't buy it on principle!)

Oh you have EXCELLENT taste

Nice and central but still a villaigey, leafy and lefty area of London

😄 I couldn't get through all the photos

Without hesitation i would buy this - https://robbreport.com/shelter/celebrity-homes/gallery/james-jannard-house-in-photos-1236906505/trousdale-highres-mike-kelley-46/

I LOVE brutalism.

Might buy a Frank Lloyd Wright house as a holiday home as well if im that minted!

BelleEpoque27 · 04/03/2026 15:27

I'd have a big house with a big garden within walking distance of my favourite city, then a small cottage by the sea (maybe Southwold) and a house in Porte de Pollenca.

And I know second homes are terrible and I shouldn't have them, but I would intentionally spend part of my year at each one, so wouldn't leave them empty for months at a time.

purplecorkheart · 04/03/2026 15:28

I like where I live and my house so would stay there but would buy an second house by the sea.

keepswimming38 · 04/03/2026 15:29

Still in North Leeds but would buy a small holding.

KnittyNell · 04/03/2026 15:30

I would stay in my lovely little three bed terrace but would spend money doing it up nicely.

Hedgesgalore · 04/03/2026 15:30

I would not move from my current house, it took us too long to get it (15 years) and then 4 months of renovating it into our perfect home. After all that we are incredibly happy and settled here.

I would hire staff though.

My dd lives in London, we go to stay every so often so I'd buy her somewhere bigger

I do like Richmond 😊

Oh, that's beautiful. I adore those houses and that area and feel like I must have lived there in another life. I have an 18th-century soul Grin

Now this is gorgeous!

Not my style at all but HUGE and beautiful

Would you have horses?

I'd live in the area I'm in as I love it, but would get a bigger house nearby. And a couple of holiday homes somewhere warm!

This is gorgeous - one thing I love about London houses is the HUGE house and petite garden 😄 (good thing)

If I lived in a house again, I would only want a small courtyard for outdoor space - no mowing for me 😫

Would you update the decor though? I love the original features but I would incorporate those in a more modern decor style - get rid of the red carpets

Richmond is beautiful

I know what you mean. Looking at old photos and pictures of Spitalfields makes my heart feel better.

Yes and a pot-bellied pig too, why not eh!

UnfoundedJealousy · 04/03/2026 15:49

I’d just buy my council house ! I love it that much

Abigailandthefoxes · 04/03/2026 15:50

Somewhere along the River in Teddington/Richmond then a house in New Orleans torn between the French Quarter or the Garden District

Londonrach1 · 04/03/2026 15:50

Id buy a house by the sea...I grew up near the sea but I'll still live in the house I've got now but I'd have money to do it up....

I fancy a castle full of cats like Enya, she’s living the dream.

BoredZelda · 04/03/2026 15:56

In would love to live in that apartment with those views, but I would hate to live in Manhattan.

So, instead, I have my eye on this one. https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/147275111#/?channel=RES_BUY. Not local to me but I’m not averse to moving. If that’s not available, I’d find some land and build it. With stables for horses that I don’t have yet, and lots of room for the several dogs I am going to need when my daughter leaves for university.
