That’s absolutely shocking. She should be in trouble for false reporting. I don’t usually say this but she could have ruined an innocent man’s life.

I think she did get punished, yes. Can't find an article or update now (it was many years ago, maybe around Brexit time?) but I seriously would like to know what her reasoning was, and if she's had therapy to combat it.

There's 'suicidal empathy' and then there's this mindset. I don't know if it has a name. But a frightening number of activists nowadays seem to have it, like this Green idiot.

Please understand this! I'm not Jewish, no connection to Israel, I've just been horrified at the rise in antisemitism and decided I was always going to speak up.
Like the saying about good people doing nothing. That was a very distressing post, but it's been deleted, so I hope you can feel that not everyone feels that way.
🙏

Thank you @OrangeAxolotyl it is heartening to have voices like yours and @LucyWestenra to balance the rampant anti semitism on here and elsewhere. Most grateful to you x

Good post. Totally agree. It makes me laugh the way Left-wing comedians like Stewart Lee think they are cool, edgy outsiders ‘fightin da system’ when they are the f-ing system. To be an edgy outsider today you’d need to be a patriotic conservative.

The other thing that sickens about the Left is the way they think they’re the ‘goodies’. If you are on the Left, then you are good by definition. In reality, they are every bit as vicious and hate-filled as the right. But because their hatred is directed towards white, middle-class Daily Mail readers, somehow it’s OK. It’s OK to demonise their national heroes, it’s OK to rob them of a tribal identity. When it was done to the Native Indians, that was colonialism, but when it’s done to British people, it’s enrichment.

I no longer live in a country with a shared history or shared culture. When I was young, I knew who I was. I don’t anymore. The Left have done all they can to fill us with shame and self-loathing. We have been systematically taught to hate ourselves. The Left have done what every abuser does. First, you break your victim’s self-esteem. You make them hate themselves. Once you have done that, they are putty in your hands. The Left have had to make us hate ourselves in order to make us accept mass immigration. If you hate your own country and are ashamed of its history and culture, then you don’t care if it is swept away and replaced with something new.

Absolute bollocks stated with such great confidence.

And let's not forget support for Ayatollah Khamenei and the Iranian regime (which sounds like a bad pop group, rather than the murderous bunch of arseholes they were/are).

I think that if we are going to argue for humanity and treating everyone humanely, comments like yours are not helpful either. Comments I have read about flattening Gaza because Palestinians are animals are not helpful either. If you genuinely support human rights, extend it to all human beings not just one group.

@LucyWestenra thank you once again for your support. Posting online shows Jewish people that not everyone hates us, which might be surmised if a Martian fell to earth and read some of the comments here! ❤️

I started writing a reply and deleted it three times because I honestly don’t know what to say anymore.

The fact that we are here again after ‘Never Again’ and that so many people are blindly jumping on the bandwagon and following each other like sheep (which is not an excuse) and condemning the Jewish community as a whole makes me so sad and angry.

The Jewish community is never responding in anger or retaliating.

There is no school teacher in hiding because he criticised Judaism.

I could say more but I fear this thread will be taken over by the usual shrieks and accusations of ‘racism’ so I won’t.

The Jewish community faced an unspeakable and unprovoked attack on the 07 Oct 2023 and despite that they have conducted themselves with nothing but grace and dignity.

There are no vicious attacks, verbal or otherwise, against their perceived enemy.

Just quietly carrying on in spite of all the hate and venom thrown their way, not just from the usual suspects but from British people too.

I know it may not feel like it at the minute and it may not mean much in the face of all you have been through, historically and recently, but you are on the right side of history.

I am so sorry you are made to feel like this. ❤️💐

Didn't the Queen refuse to engage with Israel after a British negotiator was killed? We weren't talking about terrorist groups.

Who on this thread has said anything remotely like this?

OrdinaryMagicOfAcorns · 04/03/2026 16:12

That is why people think the Green Party is a joke and worse, pandering to the very worst of the extremist Muslims. They keep coming out with lies and crap.

Ffs Hamas filmed some of the abuse and murder themselves, put it online and celebrated what they were doing. I don’t get how anyone can deny it.

Of course we don't and that poster was highly offensive.

I reported them though I know some people say - let it stand to see the crap some people put out there - but I just couldn't.

Edited

I am so relieved I never saw any of those images (I don’t have twitter or facebook, just Instagram) and then I feel instantly guilty for thinking like that, because people had to live through this and yet I can’t even look at an image or video?

But yes, to deny it happened is beyond the pale and I wonder what goes on in the heads of people who do this.

Not much I suspect.

You think that one nation is "good" and another is "bad"?

I feel exactly the same. I don't even have social media and didn't seek the images out. Then - as you say - feel guilty for thinking like that.

Tikitaka20 · 04/03/2026 16:27

I agree, OP, that the things she said are completely unacceptable.

I hope she does some antisemitism awareness training - I think that would be helpful. m
If she doesn’t learn from that training, I think Polanski should think about whether to keep her in her role. I remember the Labour MP Naz Shah making antisemitic comments and then doing antisemitism training, which she says she found useful.

I’m not Jewish but am becoming increasingly interested in Judaism, and as part of that, I’ve read quite a bit about Judaism and antisemitism - as very unfortunately, the two seem to go hand in hand. I think antisemitism is much more accepted - and often harder to detect - than other forms of hatred.

Surely we can avoid childish terminology like ' making Israel the baddie ' ?

As another poster has said, surely we can be objective and factual about this?

Yes, Hamas carried out an appalling attack on October 7th, kidnapping and killing hundreds of Israelis, including people who were at a music festival. I don't know whether any of the Israeli women who were there were raped, but I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case.

Also yes, Israel has carried out a genocide against the Palestinian people, settling on land that was agreed to be theirs, conducting violence and intimidation against them, and - most recently - bombing Gaza to absolute rubble.

Both of these things can be - and I believe are - true at the same time. You don't need to make one side or the other the ' baddie ' . We're not in kindergarten ffs.

Excuse me, no one is trying to make Israel the baddie. I am sorry but I am seriously questioning your motive here too. This is a predominantly very partisan thread and not helpful at all.

I am out now.

I think the Iranian regime are evil terrorists and whatever fills the void must SURELY be a better outcome for the Iranian people. It’s not hard to envision a government that doesn’t mass slaughter its civilian population. They’ve set a low bar.

Just to clarify here for you, before I go, the coherent point was "If you genuinely support human rights, extend it to all human beings not just one group"

Rather than jump on a bandwagon without investigating, investigate for yourself.

I think that that is coherent.

I also have no connection to Judaism or Jewish people, but I have had an interest in it since my teenage years.

Of course growing up in Germany played a role; on a class trip we went to Dachau Concentration Camp and that has stayed with me and is still vivid in my memory decades later.

I love crime novels and at some point I came across the books written by Rochelle Majer Krich (she sadly passed away last year 😭)

Her books were about a LA Detective who discovers she has Jewish roots and starts embracing them and I found it really fascinating.

As someone who comes from an abusive childhood home and who has suffered with depression since I can remember I found it oddly comforting to read about this person finding solace in a religion she didn’t know she was a part of.

Im sorry, I’m probably waffling now, but I stand by what I said, which is that the Jewish community has conducted itself with so much grace in the face of all that hatred.

Love, not hate ought to be their slogan.

Not the Greens’.
