Apparently, if we don't understand and we get upset by comments, it's a 'comprehension problem'. I understood perfectly well, as did others, who also shared our disgust. He has backtracked a bit on comments finally when pushed by another poster. That's something I suppose 🙄

Anyway, enough of him. This thread is about a women who is a spin doctor/press representative for The Green party and comments about no rapes on October 7th. It was side-tracked by other comments.

I hope the Green Party at least make a statement or offer their representative some training. I fear they will won't do much though. We shall see.

People on this thread haven't indicated that they think the war started on Oct 7th so you are lying about that.

You are biased against Israel which is obvious in many of your posts and just because you can say that Hamas are guilty of appalling things doesn't change that. It's also untrue to say the "the rest of you think Israel are totally innocent in all this".

Never have I said that or thought that. I have criticised Netanyahu several times in discussions about Gaza on the CITME board, and in particular the more extremist members of his government. I have criticised times when they have blocked humanitarian aid into Gaza, I have criticised the Settlers. Yet still, I am willing to admit I have a bias towards Israel in their war with Hamas.

Hamas are terrorist monsters who don't even care about killing their own people - their own citizens are just collateral damage to them in their longstanding battle with Israel. Noted the way you parrot Hamas propaganda: One thing it HAS done, is raise the profile of Palestinians and their struggle to the world. And I don't think Israel have improved their reputation in the process.

Obviously you see some positives to the war in Gaza. Well I hope you're happy with the extremely heavy price Gazan civilians have paid for Hamas triggering a war to raise the profile of Palestinian struggles.

That’s a very good point. “Let’s raise the profile of Palestinians by wrecking their lives even more”, what a brilliant idea.

HappyFace2025 · 06/03/2026 10:10

So you are saying that when Israel as you say left Gaza there was no intention to leave it in peace????

That is not what I said at all.

I also completely understood what this poster wrote. 💐
There has been no statement of clarification or denial from either Abi Wilkinson or Zack Polanski, or anyone representing the Greens to clarify, deny, or apologise.

@twiglets1 and @Ihatetomatoes
Just to let you know as a biological female I find it deeply offensive for you to be referring to "female" and "male" styles of posting. There are virtually no differences between male and female brains other than to do with hormones. Differences in style are to do with conditioning. And men are in fact allowed to post on MN, though the assumption is that most of us are female. Just letting you know, I don't expect you to agree with me.

Their posts have been misunderstood and misread, that is the problem.

I understood what the poster meant perfectly well.

I'm sure he doesn't need you to defend him and his posts. He's quite capable of telling us we are 'biased' or that we lack 'thinking skills' or 'reading skills/comprehension' as he has done throughout his posting.

Again the thread topic has been lost.

Could you go back and find and then quote exactly (word for word) what you did say about 2005 and about the war starting in Oct 7?

Yes, I find those responses very patronising.

We shall see if they make one.

Maybe they will just wait it out and let other news take over....

There was upset, disgust and anger at the comments made.

Green Party Faces Fury Over Spin Doctor's Denial of October 7 Rapes

Green Party leader Zack Polanski hires spin doctor Abi Wilkinson, who denies rapes occurred in October 7 Hamas attacks, prompting calls for her sacking and accusations of anti-Semitism.

I can. It's Jewish men and women.

I think rape of anyone male or female and from any nation is abhorrent and is NEVER 'resistance'. Rape is about control, humiliation and dominance. It is NEVER acceptable.

Why don't you do it, since you are so very invested in my posts? OTOH
you could just post about what this thread is about - the Green Party and their attitudes towards women who were raped on and after 7 October 2023.

EllaDisenchanted · 06/03/2026 10:24

She is not the first and unlikely to be the last to deny the rapes on October 7th. This should be a fringe extremist view - without rebuttal of this by the green party, does that indicate they silently accept/agree with her views? Or have they distanced themselves and I haven't seen it?
Concerning.

I've just checked and cannot see anything from them. Hopefully, they will respond and not just leave it. If they don't respond it shows us who they are. I did vote Green many years ago on environmental grounds. The party has changed and not for the better in many ways.

Again, hopefully they will respond to the criticism 🤔

Yes, I always voted Green at the local elections, hoping for change.
Why they're doing nothing about this situation is mystifying.

Of course men are allowed to post on MN and are very welcome as far as I'm concerned.

Most of us are female though, that will be because Mumsnet is not the most inclusive name in the world (some people posting will not be mums and they are welcome too).

We all have "voices" on MN and from the style of posting people may make assumptions about age, sex, etc - they aren't necessarily correct of course.

i can’t bear the Green Party- the more they’re discredited the better imho.
Full of useful idiots who have been captured by extreme left-wing ideology and I include my deluded DC in this (we are Jewish). I have to think of it as a cult, otherwise I can’t cope.

Relatable @Nosejobnelly my son in his 20s indicated to me recently that he intends to vote Green at the next election. Young people are very disillusioned with both the Tories and Labour which is understandable.

That reminds me, I need to point him in the direction of the comments made by this awful woman - the Green party silence on what she said will send him back into the arms of Labour hopefully. They aren't perfect but better than the Greens right now.

He's an idealist as are many traditional voters for the Green party. But the party has changed beyond all recognition.
