The Green Party in Denton whored themselves out to secure a vote...

Luckymum20 · 01/03/2026 18:15

The Green Party. A party for women. A party for equality. A party for the rights for gay and trans people.... They ran their campaign on the Gaza stance. To secure the vote of people who go against the majority of their principles.

I am disgusted that British Politics, which is already in the gutter, a party who should champion ethics and morals, has sunk this low.

Surly I cannot be the only one who thinks this way?

The local council and police have no interest in the outcome.

How do you know? You are just making assumptions.

There is far more likelihood of the council and police having an interest in the result than an international organisation involving themselves in local politics at that level and risking their whole organisation by lying.

How do I know? Because I worked for local authorities for over a decade and it’s a matter of complete indifference to them who the local MP is.

You are the one stoking division on these threads by making statements about Muslims which completely lack nuance. Not me.

Can you clarify where I gave lacked ‘nuance’ and perhaps provide said nuance to help my understanding?

As for ‘stoking division’, I think that advocating for lawful and free elections for all and listening to Muslim voices is hardly doing that. 🤷‍♀️

That doesn’t prove anything.

There are plenty of people out there rather keen to get more pro Gaza/Islam MPs into power. Like this chap for example. He even admits that he doesn’t agree with the Greens beliefs but will put that aside for more power.

I think it's awful too. I heard one of her speeches and thought it very good, but going all Islamist really concerns me and their leader is bat shit.

Parsley4321 · 04/03/2026 08:40

In fairness the more the Greens get exposed as bat shit the better hopefully the more they are scrutinised for their policy the better

Hmm I wonder why ethnic minority voters would be put off voting for Reform….

https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2026/mar/03/half-reform-voters-believe-non-white-british-citizens-forced-encouraged-leave

More than half of Reform UK members believe non-white British citizens born abroad should be deported or encouraged to leave, according to the first publicly available poll of those in Nigel Farage’s party.
The findings come as the Reform leader attempts to court centre-ground voters while facing pressure from his right flank, including a hardline new party launched by Rupert Lowe, who left Reform after falling out with Farage.
According to the research published by the anti-racism group, Hope Not Hate (HnH), 54% of Reform members thought non-white British citizens born abroad should be forcibly removed or encouraged to leave, while one in five (22%) also supported it for non-white citizens whose parents were born in the UK.

(Granted it’s simply a poll but it is unsurprising so many voted tactically to keep Reform out.

Most Reform members believe non-white UK citizens born abroad should be forced or encouraged to leave, poll finds

Nigel Farage’s recent efforts to woo centre-ground voters may cause tension in party’s right flank, says Hope Not Hate

So over 65% of votes cast being against Reform isn't a rejection? That's Olympic level mental gymnastics 😂.

You have a very odd way of framing that. So if you are claiming that every vote for a different party is a rejection for one particular party, so as they only got 40% of the total vote, by your terms, 60% of votes were cast against the Greens.

Do you seriously think that makes sense? Talk about mental gymnastics.

The Reform vote was up 15% on the last election while Labour were down 25%.

The only party being actively rejected there is Labour.

The fact is that Reform fielded a rubbish candidate who wasn't local, slated Muslims and women and accused a large cohort of the local population of not being British enough. That was really going to make him popular.

So despite all that (although he is from Manchester) , Matt got 10,578 votes.

Spencer got 14,980 votes.

Labour got 9,364

How are you claiming that Matt was ‘rejected’??

Is Matt Goodwin the new MP for Gorton and Denton? No? Then he and his party were rejected by the electorate. The majority of votes went to parties of the left(ish). That is a rejection of the (far) right.

Unless you think it's online a rejection if a party receives 0 votes, this should be obvious.

As for the allegations of cheating - let's see what comes out of the investigation before making assumptions.

NotSmallButFunSize · 04/03/2026 09:05

As opposed to the tactics Reform use to score votes, like casual racism??

At least Greens give a shit about issues like Gaza - Nigel only cares about himself

I quite like objecting to genocide. I also quite like trans people having rights.

Isn't it just? It's amazing how knowing Muslims and actual living trans people teaches you that we're all human and nobody should be looked on as a faceless collective threat.

Parsley4321 · 04/03/2026 10:53

@pointythings yes you may see it like that

I do. The fact of the matter is that the Reform supporters on this thread will never accept the G&D result even if an investigation turns up nothing, because the'wrong' candidate won.

According to a recent survey, 54% of Reform supporters interviewed want British citi,en's who were born overseas and are not white to leave. A further 22% want this for white citizens born overseas too.

A toxic mix of racism and xenophobia.

Parsley4321 · 04/03/2026 12:00

@pointythings its not about the election result is it it’s more nuanced than that

Hi pointy. I agree with you but I wanted to point out that 22% of reform supporters want to remove non white citizens who were born in the UK but whose parents were not. They love white people irrespective of who they are or what they have done.

Edited to say they love white men. They don't seem to be that keen on women either.

Only if you believe that Muslims want to take over and turn the UK into a theocracy. And that's not a nuanced position to take.

Nameychangington · 04/03/2026 12:32

Why the assumption that posters who don't support the green party must be reform voters? It's very possible to hate misogynist racist greens and misogynist racist reform, and you can loathe the greens and not want them to win while supporting another party or none. It's not either/or.

Because the Green Party are only misogynist if you are anti trans people. They are only racist if you are a fervent supporter of the Israeli government and its actions in Gaza and the West Bank.

Pretending there is equivalence is madness. Green Party supporters do not on the whole want to deport British people if they happen to be brown, for one.

Parsley4321 · 04/03/2026 13:19

@pointythings Oct 7th and do you honestly think all those rapists who put on a dress are trans ? Isla Bryce or that swimmer in the states wandering around the changing rooms with his dick hanging out the Darlington nurses.

The green party are misogynist because they literally define women as 'non-men'. And expel their own members for not believing that TWAW. Knowing that women exist isn't anti transpeople (unless you think that knowing transpeople exist is anti-women?)and GC beliefs are legally protected (which is why the Greens keep losing when expelled members fight back).

They are racist for example when their party leader is willing to say out loud on record that we need immigration as he doesn't want to wipe bums for a job - because obviously brown immigrants want to wipe bums, people like ZP shouldn't have to of course but it's good enough for immigrants. So no, Greens don't want to deport brown people, they want them to be here to do jobs they think white people are too good for. Not sure how that's not racist?

The greens and reform are two ends of a horseshoe, both batshit authoritarians who are so convinced of their own rightness that they have no idea that most people don't agree with their batshit. Most people of any political persuasion are not 'a fervent supporter of the Israeli government', government policy isn't the student union and this kind of simplistic tribalism is a sign that our political literacy is in sharp decline, as well as being what the thread is about.

Parsley4321 · 04/03/2026 13:40

@Nameychangington that’s a great post thank you for putting it into words
i think the Greens starting going a bit off piste after their prominent person was accused of child sex abuse and his daughter in the attic was that right

If you think October 7th justifies what followed, your moral compass needs a reset. Both are equally to be condemned.

If you equate transwomen with 'rapist in a dress', you have a very simplistic view of the world. No transwoman has ever bothered me or my kids. Adult British men on the other hand...

This kind of zero sum thinking helps nothing.

Meanwhile Reform want to tear up the rights of workers, trash the environment and if Danny Dunning-Kruger is to be believed will look at something called 'the sexual economy '. Then there's that survey on deporting British citizens who aren't white. I feel a lot safer with the Greens, thanks.

I'm brown, the only bums I'll wipe are my own and that of my kids and I am trust that Zach polanski and the rest of the green party are substantially less racist than anyone in reform.

I am also a woman and again I feel my interests would be much better protected by the greens than by reform even if I don't agree with their stance always on trans women. I think the majority of trans women are benign and not a threat to anyone unlike the racists in reform who can and will make my life and the life of my family more unpleasant.

Please don't pretend you support reform because you are offended on behalf of immigrants. That is ridiculous.
