To think that everyone is getting far too excited about this Green win?

All this fuss about one Green win - I really don't think it's massively significant given the local demographic and the upcoming local elections will be the real test.

As if the Greens are going to get anywhere near power! Not going to happen.

Turkeys voting for Christmas anyone? (Sound familiar?)

I think Zack Polanski had a similar appeal to Jeremy Corbyn had

student pleasing polices with little depth but a cult like following, it’s a form of populism

Unless you're in the booth with them you simply don't know.

That's true but very unlikely given the conversations

Very good!

Really? I thought it was pretty crass

A bias source certainly but not necessarily unreliable. It's all factually correct.

Factually correct? Where’s the evidence then?

Whatifitallgoesright · 02/03/2026 08:49

Evidence of what?

The “facts” you referred to.

Whatifitallgoesright · 02/03/2026 12:10

Which particular fact?

Lolalady · 02/03/2026 13:38

I think the Green Party member who won actually spoke a lot of common sense and actually seems quite normal. However the party policies would worry me, particularly a Green Party member encouraging her grandchildren to send Valentine cards to asylum
seekers!

I presume you are Muslim as with Greens in power, there will be mosques on every street and first language will now be Arabic.

We’ll all be forced to wear burqas! 😂

Do you really not see it?

Edit to add: Also given there are many women who are forced to wear it..its hardly something to laugh about, is it?

Whebasd · 03/03/2026 08:12

The Green Party is a strange mix of tree huggers, trans people and terrorists. I don’t understand what any of them have in common apart from being marginalised.

One thing’s for sure is if the extremist Muslims get their way and control the tree huggers and the trans people particularly will be destroyed.

Of course I don’t see it. Nor does anyone else. I can’t take this hyperbolic nonsense seriously, if I didn’t laugh I’d cry.

Nor does anyone else? Why do you think Reform is polling so high?

Are you so blinded to think our Liberty and democracy cannot be lost?

I live in Luton.......a town that over the last few decades has transformed from the Town I grew up in.

This "hyperbolic nonsense " is real and is already here.

Your dismissive attitude to women is deplorable.....yet typical of the left.

Not sure the New Greens form of politics can be described as "progressive". Sectarian politics is a regressive step, surely.

Anyway eventually they must be found out. Their policies of legalising drugs and prostitution is contradictory with the religious views of the Muslim vote on which they rely. Im not sure all the voters knew what they were voting for...

I dare say a lot of them thought they were voting for Gaza.

Polling isn’t voting. As you saw last week. The number of people who would vote “anything but Reform” significantly outweighs the number who would vote for them. Hyperbole from sore losers cuts no ice.

The local elections will be more instructive. We’ll see then how each do. Not all areas were Labour for 100 years and not all will have the same demographics as G&D.

Clearly never set foot in Luton. Or probably out your own front door lately.
