To think cillian Murphy’s wife has bloomed in middle age?

I remember long before pesky blinders, having a mild crush on Cillian. A lot of interviews he mentioned his wife and it’s obvious he adores her. I had a nosy and she looked like a normal, pretty, middle class Irish woman. But seeing her in photos lately at events: she looks, well, stunning: like a model or actress, the sort of woman you would look twice at. I think it’s fairly unusual to glow up in middle age: but she really looks amazing

Probably the money 😂

Owenspannas · 21/02/2026 12:24

Money can make anyone glow up.

They've always looked happy and confident in their own skin. Beautiful.

Olderandwiserpossibly · 21/02/2026 12:25

What business is it of anyone what his wife looks like?

If it's obvious he adores her then great. Why don't you just be pleased for her that she has an apparently loving H.

mondaytosunday · 21/02/2026 12:33

Nah she’s always been nice looking, but maybe more made up and polished now, which happens to many in midlife. Looks so Irish!

marcyhermit · 21/02/2026 12:34

Why are we analysing what Cillian Murphy's wife looks like, so weird.

ImPamDoove · 21/02/2026 12:37

They’re both very striking and unusual looking.

AlohaRose · 21/02/2026 12:39

Well, that’s a backhanded compliment if ever there was one!

elfendom1 · 21/02/2026 12:50

I thought she looked really frumpy at the iftas and quite pissed off. I definitely am not seeing what you are OP.

I wonder what she thinks of you?

HighStreetOtter · 21/02/2026 12:57

No idea what she looks like but just wanted to say I had a glow up in middle age. For me it was having time once DC were older

Linoleum81 · 21/02/2026 12:57

I’m not sure what she thinks of me. I’d imagine if she ever met me she’d think I’m short, frumpy and dumpy: the complete opposite of her.

It’s not a backhanded compliment! She always looked pretty: now she looks amazing. And it’s wonderful to see in middle age: there’s hope for us all.

Exactly.

If the OP wants to send compliments on a stranger's looks, she could probably find their social media and DM them like other loons do.

MakeYourOwnSunshine · 21/02/2026 12:58

I had absolutely no idea who she was or what she looked liked so I just googled her. I definitely wouldn't call her stunning!

Because, she’s had a glow up in middle age. And I want one too.

and I’m delighted she has a loving husband. I have one of them too. (And yeah, even in the happiest of marriages, we’re allowed a wee crush on a film star)

I know someone who has met her and apparently she has a real spark.

GOAT26 · 21/02/2026 13:01

I can’t say I’ve noticed she’s bloomed but I have seen lots of headlines recently about her looks thanks to our misogynistic press.

They seem as a couple to know how vacuous ‘celebrity’ is and hopefully treat it like the chip shop paper it deserves to be.

The fact we are discussing her looks here shows how obsessed we are about appearance as a society. It has nothing to do with her value as a person or what she contributes to society or her field. Depressing really.

Me neither.

Yes yes she’d probably find me unattractive too 🙄

Strawberryfruitstarburst · 21/02/2026 13:02

I always find it really icky when women comment on other women in this way. I hate it when people do it in the office too.

We are so much more than our appearance. It reminds me of Heat magazine or a shitty tabloid doing it.

Olderandwiserpossibly · 21/02/2026 13:03

This thread is giving me vibes of Piers Brosnan and his wife: she got appalling abuse by people criticising her appearance and body shaming her.
To the extent he has repeatedly had to defend her and talk about how much he loves her.
Why on earth does anyone think this thread discussing this woman's appearance is acceptable?

Yes or facebook? Is that the sort of social chit chat it's for? .

TheChicDreamer · 21/02/2026 13:13

She’s stunning. Razor sharp cheekbones, clear blue eyes. Porcelain skin. Very Irish looking with those closely-set, pointed features. She has the kind of bone structure that not only ages well, but actually ages better if you look after yourself.

Disturbia81 · 21/02/2026 13:15

I actually think most women look better in middle age if they look after themselves, and I don’t mean surgery etc. I just love that wiser, lived in face with smile lines and life experience, bigger cheekbones etc. Knowing your style and walking with confidence.

NeverDropYourMooncup · 21/02/2026 13:18

Does she not have a name?

Halphabetty · 21/02/2026 13:18

She does - it's Yvonne McGuiness
