To think cillian Murphy’s wife has bloomed in middle age?

Linoleum81 · 21/02/2026 12:21

I remember long before pesky blinders, having a mild crush on Cillian. A lot of interviews he mentioned his wife and it’s obvious he adores her. I had a nosy and she looked like a normal, pretty, middle class Irish woman. But seeing her in photos lately at events: she looks, well, stunning: like a model or actress, the sort of woman you would look twice at. I think it’s fairly unusual to glow up in middle age: but she really looks amazing

Perhaps she is out the other side of peri? I know I look better now than i did when I was in my late 30's/early 40's as my weight went off just as quick as it went on, my skin is no longer red and ruddy looking and my hair is shiny. Of course I am spending more on skincare and on myself in general but I look better now than I did for about 10 years purely as I was going through peri.

That gives me hope!

Cillian Murphy is very normal looking as well imo People wouldnt think he was anything special if he wasnt famous or hadnt played Tommy Shelby

usedtobeaylis · 21/02/2026 15:11

I've just always thought she looks really, really Irish. She reminds me so much of my friend's mum when we were kids, and she also comes from an Irish family.

They just come over as a nice, grounded, very Irish couple.

Maia77 · 21/02/2026 15:13

She's wearing more make-up. I preferred how she looked when she was younger.

My friend, I saw him in The Wind That Shakes The Barley in my 20s and thought he was the most beautiful man I'd ever seen at the time. I've never watched Peaky Blinders.

Scorchio84 · 21/02/2026 15:21

"She looks so Irish" ? ? Do I need to start practising?

AeriatedAnna · 21/02/2026 15:21

Christ what did she look like before then?

I’ve met the pair of them, she seemed OK, but not he!

chubbaa · 21/02/2026 15:22

Both weird shapes faces. I look better the more money I have too.

God he was HOT as Tommy Shelby... 😍😍

Sorry... got distracted from the thread there for a moment.... 🤤🤤

I had absolutely no idea who she was or what she looked liked so I just googled her. I definitely wouldn't call her stunning!

I agree. Completely average looking middle aged woman. Perfectly OK looking, but I see equally attractive women in Tesco's every day. I'm not seeing 'stunning' at all. Eye of the beholder I guess.

McSilkson · 21/02/2026 15:31

I think she's really unattractive... Her nose....😬

MabelAnderson · 21/02/2026 15:32

They are both incredibly Irish looking, unsurprisingly! In slightly different ways. Lovely faces .

This is why I have a problem with threads like these, it invites this kind of comment. How is this ok????

Its toxic.

LuciferTheLightBringer · 21/02/2026 15:36

Stunning? Younger Monica Bellucci was stunning. Sophia Loren. Ava Gardner. Angelina Jolie, Monroe and the like. Yvonne is an absolutely average, every-day, normal-looking woman, just like most people are. I'd never look at her in the street and think 'woooooow'.

I hate the devaluation of words. If she's 'stunning', then what the actual beauties should be called?

She looks well. Perhaps she’s paying attention to a stylist or has found her colour palate. She has interesting bone structure and style that perhaps has grown into as she reaches her 50s. I think women do tend to have a glow up once their children are out of the very needy stage, when they have a little more time for self care again. I’m looking forward to mine!!

itsnotfairisit · 21/02/2026 15:42

Yvonne McGuiness is an artist in her won right. Her wiki entry is pretty extensive. She's definitely more than Mrs Murphy.

But I happen to think she is quite beautiful too.

Itiswhysofew · 21/02/2026 15:49

I'm not seeing any difference. Maybe doing her makeup differently?

Money can make anyone glow up.

They've always looked happy and confident in their own skin. Beautiful.

That's the truth of it.

Money can do wonders for ones looks! I work with the rich and some of these older women (70s) have fabulously expensive hair: Exquisitely coloured, lush, permed balayage hair that sometimes looks incongruous with their craggy faces.

I can't say that I'm not envious. lol.

There was a poster here a while ago who said she vaguely knew CM and had met him several times. She said he was much more 'average' looking in real life than on the telly. Kind of gawky and effeminate looking.

It's funny because some people are the opposite. Nothing special in photos or on TV, but stunning in person.

JHound · 21/02/2026 16:18

I had to look her up. She looks the same. Just like a regular woman.

I think now he is. But I found him hot in 28 Days Later. But not when he smiles.

Why have they got craggy faces if they’re rich 😆

Sounds similar to how I look so much better in my 40s than in my 30s as I was so tired from raising little kids. Looks don’t go in a linear line from good to bad, look at all the older people who look far better older than younger.
