Made to feel uncomfortable

Scottishlassie10 · 20/02/2026 09:17

Now I’m all for people wearing what they want but I do think there is a time and a place. My husband was in the health club last night relaxing in the jacuzzi when a group of young women in their early 20s wearing bikinis that left little to the imagination (think thong bottoms and boobs barely covered) started parading around. They came into the jacuzzi which I know they’re entitled to do, however 2 sat next to him and 2 directly facing. It’s quite a big jacuzzi so they had no need to sit where they did. He was the only male in. He felt he had no option to leave as this made him feel quite uncomfortable. Now I may be unreasonable in my thinking but I do think if the shoe was on the other foot and a male was to strut around the poolside in a thong or a group of men where to sit in an empty jacuzzi in close proximity to a female complaints would be made.

what is the thread really about? - is it the man feeling uncomfortable because he thought they are subjecting him to voyaurism or what....what are you implying with the thread ....I don't want to imply anything but you made a whole thread about what he said so here we are not knowing what to tell you.

It’s about him being made to feel uncomfortable and how he had no option to leave which any decent man would. I have no problem with what he said.

I didn't call him a creep or a perv on any level. I actually said more than once that I understand what it's like to be in a mixed sex sauna and feel uncomfortable.

Well then, I apologise. I got you mixed up with other pp. Sorry.

He left the jacuzzi and left them to it. Good on him. Don't think he did anything wrong.

So what if he felt uncomfortable. Those are his feelings to deal with.

Which you of course acknowledge and support.

Buy those women don’t deserve to be villainised or described as ‘gross’ for their swimwear choice.

Your daughter’s feelings don’t trump the bodily autonomy of other women (or people in general).

Ah man I give up. They can wear what they like. My daughter is allowed to tell me it made her feel uncomfortable- her words ‘gross’. It’s a normal developmental stage. To her, all the ‘butts’ and ‘boobs’
she saw on a trip to a family waterpark were in her words ‘gross’
Maybe she had a point?

You seem to be having trouble understanding.

It's inappropriate for women to get their private body parts out on display in front of children.

It is, in general, gross.

No, you seem to have trouble understanding.
They were wearing a bikini. They weren’t naked.

YANBU in the slightest but I'm assuming you're new here as I could have told you that all the man haters would be out in force because of course no woman has ever used her assets to beguile or intimidate a man ever.

It literally doesn't matter what you say or how you try to explain it, every phrase will be pulled apart to desperately try to convince you that your husband is a giant perv/all women are sweet and innocent/you are a fool.

I don't believe I'm a prude but I don't enjoy seeing other womens' backsides either. Saying that there isn't a time and a place for specific types of clothing is not internalised mysogny or some other crap.

Have a good evening 💐

Yes I’m finding that out! Seems that men are the devil incarnate 😂

The bar for being a Man Hater (TM) drops lower every single day. Last night a whole load of us were Man Haters (TM) because we didn't let some bloke get away with using disgusting language about women ("slappers" and so on) without comment and now you're a Man Hater (TM) for... actually I don't even know what point this person is trying to make. I don't think anyone on here has suggested no woman has ever tried to entice a man. That would be even more ridiculous than whatever the fuck this post is. The pount is, evil bikini jacuzzi women MAN HATERS (TM).

Makes you wonder how men manage to rule the world, what with the limitless power of bikini Man Haters (TM).

MAN HATERS (TM), SWARMING TO A JACUZZI NEAR YOU. IN THE JACUZZI, NO ONE CAN HEAR YOU SCREAM!!!!

I've known many frankly terrifying women! I've also known women who have bullied, abused, or sexually harassed men and boys.

And yes, men can parade and strut. It's not gendered language.

I think some pp have just seen an opportunity to give an OP a kicking by accusing her DH of being a pervert and a misogynist. They don't have anything of substance to say. They just like attacking people.

Yep. Just a chance to attack another OP.

illbetheresunorrain · 20/02/2026 19:40

oh wait, it should be a vagina and a nipple only that will arouse a man

So you don't agree? So if you were teaching kids about privacy and consent, you'd say arses are fair game, no different than elbows or knees? Certainly not 'gross' or uncomfortable to be a child surrounded by naked arses?

That's not the case as far as I'm concerned. Some people have been very strong with their opinions but it seems like the biggest issues have been the fact that what the girls were wearing was described and the fact that they were washing themselves in the shower in a certain way.

It surely doesn't need to be one thing or the other. I have had some horrible experiences at the hands of men (assault). But I don't think men are the devil incarnate and to be fair if you post on here you are going to get a huge mix of opinions that won't necessarily agree with yours. It happens on almost every thread

They were just wondering around the poolside. Of course they weren’t doing anything wrong, and yes they were using the facilities, but I do think those type of bikinis are more suited to the beach.

To be fair if I had a body that looked good in a skimpy bikini then I’d wear one!
how old is your husband, 12? I think he needs to grow up and have a word with himself

why? Why not older women Mid 50s inspire younger women to humility, chastity and respect

illbetheresunorrain · 20/02/2026 19:46

i have a 12 year old...I don't allow leggins in the crack or crop tops, yet all her class mates have been doing it from younger ages, encouraged by their mothers to even go to school with mini skirts practicing for secondary ...this nation is gone to batshit bonkers.

I have no issue with anyone disagreeing with my opinion. It would be a boring world if we all agreed. I do take issue though with my husband being labelled a perv, getting aroused etc. Surely the mere fact he removed himself proves otherwise.

It's all the comments about how OP's husband is a pervert, how he must have been staring at the women, how he was probably leching all over them, and how the women can't possibly be held accountable for their own behaviour. If you didn't make any of those comments, then I apologise. There are a lot of posters saying the exact same or very similar things on this thread.

The thing is, the OP has made a provocative post, using very loaded language, which some might struggle to believe to be a fair and accurate account of the situation.
The idea of a group of young women rubbing their bodies to deliberately be sexually provocative to a 60 year old man, does stretch credulity. So posters suspect the OP (or her husbands) to be coming from a place of anti woman bias.
This is excercebated by the OPs determination to make this about percieved double standards towards men, and imply men are equal victims of sexually predatory behaviour from women as vice versa. To try this on a forum dominated by women who know this isn't the case, is a bit insulting to intelligence for one thing. And the anti woman sentiments don't sit right with a lot of women, for another.
For this reason, the push back has inevitably been strong. But a dislike for and strong reaction to anti woman bias shouldn't be confused with hatred of men.

But he removed himself only AFTER watching them supposedly touch themselves in the showers. Like, has he not learnt to close his eyes or tilt his head or move in the jacuzzi...

Scottishlassie10 · 20/02/2026 19:41

As do women.

Yeah, but we already have a world where women are judged and traduced and criticised and made responsible for everything, including your husband, so you don't need to worry about that.

It is in fact so much the case that anyone who doesn't think your husband is a victim of terrible sexual aggression because women existed in clothes he didn't like is a Man Hater (TM). Makes you wonder how they rule the world...
