Now I’m all for people wearing what they want but I do think there is a time and a place. My husband was in the health club last night relaxing in the jacuzzi when a group of young women in their early 20s wearing bikinis that left little to the imagination (think thong bottoms and boobs barely covered) started parading around. They came into the jacuzzi which I know they’re entitled to do, however 2 sat next to him and 2 directly facing. It’s quite a big jacuzzi so they had no need to sit where they did. He was the only male in. He felt he had no option to leave as this made him feel quite uncomfortable. Now I may be unreasonable in my thinking but I do think if the shoe was on the other foot and a male was to strut around the poolside in a thong or a group of men where to sit in an empty jacuzzi in close proximity to a female complaints would be made.

A few weeks ago, a plumber came to replace my kitchen tap. He was a large gentleman, who clearly did not favour high rise trousers.
When he was bending down under the sink, I caught a view of his hairy arse.
You know what I did? I left the kitchen until he finished because I didn't want to see that.

Why was he so bothered about their bikinis?
Couldn't he look away when they were showering? Couldn't he just relax with his eyes closed in the jacuzzi?

YANBU OP, I wouldn't have liked it either. If you want to be mostly naked that's fine but go do it on the beach, not in the gym spa area where you have to be respectful of being in close proximity to other gym users. My partner would have left, too.

As a parent I would have thought it’s your job to challenge opinions, especially ones which are judgemental and rude.

Your husband will eye up women on other occasions too. This won't be a one-off. I suspect you're very aware of this but won't admit it here.

I guess I’d like to understand how a string bikini which basically just about covers vulva and nipples but absolutely every other inch of skin is exposed to the world makes a woman ‘feel good’ as PP mentioned about her daughter. Is it the fact they know people will be staring and that makes them feel great?

There’s no way it’s more comfortable or practical to wear it so why else? It’s the same, as I mentioned before, as women who wear tight hot pants at the gym. It is NOT more comfortable or practical than leggings, the only reason for this is they get a kick out of being ogled by random men.

It's a bit weird that he is making so much of this, my DH goes to the gym all the time and has never mentioned anything like this. There is a plethora of kicking young people threads about at the moment, and older people have been slagging off younger people for a very long time, and your post and description is a little disturbing. They are allowed to be in the spa, go in the jacuzzi and use the showers, as is your husband. If he doesnt like it, suggest he finds another spa.
