I do feel sorry for his daughters - they were raised by A and S. How does someone form a strong moral compass when raised by people who wouldn't recognise one if it stabbed them in the face?
Children are inclined to love and trust their parents, to view right and wrong according to what their parents show them. To make excuses because they love them. Seemingly everyone around AMW let him live this way, inc TLQ - seems a bit much to expect the daughters (who were young for much of this), to buck that trend.
It's possible to have some sympathy for B and E and also for Epstein's victims - it's not one or the other.
AME strikes me as someone who was educated and promoted beyond his abilities. Combined with his huge sense of entitlement, that put him in the path of men like Epstein, who would want to exploit that. His best defence imo is that he was not intelligent enough to know what he was giving away - that I would be inclined to believe!
