The mind boggles, I’m glad he’s been arrested, but what will they do with him now? They can’t just put him in the slammer can they?

Of course they can.

HoskinsChoice · 19/02/2026 13:59

Livingthebestlife · 19/02/2026 13:51

Poor Virginia, never got to see this day.

Not sure she would be that bothered about him passing a few business deals on! If they ever find some evidence of wrongdoing in relation to sex trafficking so they can arrest him for that she might be happier.

PinkNeonSign · 19/02/2026 13:59

CustardySergeant · 19/02/2026 13:58

Of course they can.

Won’t it cost bazillions to protect him though? Although that said, it probably does anyway.

notmoredirtywashing · 19/02/2026 13:59

I wonder if he has to sit in a cell, like 24 hours in police custody, I do hope so.
how the mighty have fallen.

@BeRoseViewer wow I wonder if having sex with a trafficked girl should be classified as rape ?

I don't know, and laws might change as they do constantly.

But then you have to take into consideration of how that would effect victims of trafficking who are then unable to have any truly consensual, enthusiastically given sexual relationships without their chosen sexual partners being considered rapists under the law.

How would it work? in other words.

They'll just isolate him. Lots of prisoners have to be kept away from other prisoners.

Happyjoe · 19/02/2026 14:04

TheKittenswithMittens · 19/02/2026 13:42

If he goes down, he will have to be on the special wing for his protection.

Perhaps he'll do an 'Epstein' while in prison?

I just can’t actually believe that it’s happened and he might face justice for what he’s done. Whether that’s the girls, the public office stuff or anything else, he must have thought he was untouchable. He’s an absolute disgrace.

simpsonthecat · 19/02/2026 11:05

OK. I'll call it £5million just for you!

It is obvious it was a huge amount and it's obvious QE2 contributed or paid it all. And me saying that doesn't undermine a single thing.

If you want no figures talked about or QE2 paying it, there are probably 500 news reports on this, you might need to contact them!

Perhaps it’s time for a significant investigation of the Royal Family’s finances and to enforce them complying with the same transparency and tax laws as everyone else.

Flipping well should be imo. It's hardly free will.

Reading about their activities

Spot on. He acted in a very seedy manner (understatement!) but not illegal UNLESS he knew/involved with actual trafficing.
It seems a slam dunk for the shady business delaings though so I expect he will see prison time.

Wendywooooo · 19/02/2026 12:11

This could all work out nicely for him, he'll still get to live rent free in a big house owned by his brother

Plenty of staff around to “look after” him, as well, and a house with many, many bedrooms. He should be delighted.

All that’s missing is his collection of teddies!

Thoughts for his poor bastard solicitor who will be begging him to shut the fuck up and stop answering the questions at interview 😂

I hope it is a very busy custody suite and that he has to spend a long time waiting in a cell that still stinks of the previous occupant's piss

He is daft enough to think he can talk his way out of it.

Finally!!!

Police also need to reopen the murder investigation of the Latvian woman whose body was found near Andrew’s house.

Andrew is an evil POS.

If only Virginia Andrews Guiffre were still here to see. Her children should be so proud of her.

Can you post a link to this please? I've not heard about this case. Thank you.

FeetupTvon · 19/02/2026 14:17

Hopefully the first of many.

The BBC have just said that Buckingham palace and the King were not told in advance about Andrew’s arrest, which is interesting.

Of course they could nt be told . He would have had time to react otherwise.
Its like when I worked in child protection- you absolutely do nothing in certain situations - so as not to affect evidence for the police etc .
its absolutely vital they were not told , not should they be .

Poor Virginia, never got to see this day.

Her family has release this statement

At last.

Today, our broken hearts have been lifted at the news that no one is above the law, not even royalty.

On behalf of our sister, Virginia Roberts Giuffre, we extend our gratitude to the UK's Thames Valley Police for their investigation and arrest of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.

He was never a prince.

For survivors everywhere, Virginia did this for you.

My worry is that a big thing is made of him being arrested and it looks like he's being punished for any potential crimes... But there has been enough time/forewarning for any evidence to be gotten rid of to convict him properly. We really need some justice done and anyone who surrounded him that new what was going on.

Daysgo · 19/02/2026 14:24

As an Irish observer I think it's a pretty desperate " look voters, we are not supporting paedophiles". Perhaps more convincing if they had already , or will, deport the gangs , and their supportive families, who raped young , vulnerable, english girls but...

Oh! The grand ex-Duke of York. He had 12 million quid. He gave it to someone he'd "never met" for something he "never did"
