I couldn’t help laughing it’s like carry on film. How undignified! Never mind Andrew, I’m sure the cook has made you a nice birthday cake to celebrate your eventful day!

I’m sure you’ll sleep easier knowing he’s home and safe.

On the plus side, he could be imprisoned in the Tower of London as a tourist attraction.😀

Aylsham police station? So that's where he was ...

In other news the BBC are reporting that the Home Office were informed of the arrest before it took place - and we're still expected to believe nobody picked up the phone to Charles or his staff?

Yes.
But even if someone did pick up the phone, what difference did it make?

(side question: what's the 'knitting by the tumbrils' reference about? : like getting the popcorn out, I get that, but knitting... tumbrils - I'm intrigued 🙂)

French Revolution. The women spectators at the guillotine were known as 'tricoteuses' who sat with their knitting. Tumbrils were two-wheel barrows that were used for transporting prisoners to the guillotine.

I guess that would depend on whether the palace were a party to this, but if it did happen it would certainly blow a hole in the usual claim that they "didn't know"

From everything we know, the palace had no advanced warning.

But if they did, they certainly didn't do anything to interfere with the police operation, so it made absolutely no difference to anything.

Are you that naive of course they knew. The removal of his title was all planned because they knew what was coming.

Absolutely. There is no way an institution as powerful as the monarchy doesnt know all the 'secrets'.
As do the British intelligence services and doubtless top brass in most countries.
A lot of people are involved and a lot more know who's involved in what.
The general public will never know the full extent of it all.
That has always been the case and will always be the case. People are fooling themselves if they think that will ever be sny different.

Whatever we are learning about now I guarantee it barely scratches the surface.

The point the poster I was replying to made was that the palace had been told in advance he would be arrested today. Absolutely no comment on the wider situation.

I don't think that's much of a big deal really. They may have waited until the police had been there for a while, as it was quite early in the morning.

Charlie would have known there were investigations underway and that it could happen at any time.

I agree none of us know this, which is why I wrote "if" and "whether", but I sincerely believe that today's actions have taken place with the full knowledge and coordination of the palace as a self protecting sop to the public who haven't allowed the issue to drop ... same as the removal of AMW's titles, only this time with the useful side effect of shackling the media on the pretence that there may be a trial

Seen from that POV there'd be no need to interfere further, and no need to worry about a trial which IMO will never be allowed to happen ... though that's an area where I'd love to be wrong

@ShakyBake daily Mail is now reporting that some Saudi sheikh is hanging out in Dorset on his Superyacht:…. I found that interesting given your potential sighting this morning?!

You do know that this has absolutely nothing to do with him and any girls that may/not have been involved????

This is purely about sharing privileged market and financial information.

Surprised Mandy is still wandering around. Is his birthday coming up soon??

It's not about that YET.

They will be looking at what he did and where he did it.

Mahatma Gandhi’s Seven Social Sins

  • Wealth without work
  • :
  • Acquiring wealth through speculation, gambling, or manipulation rather than honest labor
  • .
  • Pleasure without conscience: Pursuing enjoyment or indulgence without considering the moral consequences or the impact on others.
  • Knowledge without character: Being highly educated or intelligent but lacking moral integrity, using knowledge for selfish or harmful purposes.
  • Commerce without morality: Conducting business, trading, or seeking profit without ethical principles, often leading to exploitation.
  • Science without humanity: Advancing technology or scientific discovery without concern for its impact on human welfare, such as creating weapons of destruction.
  • Worship without sacrifice: Engaging in religious rituals or seeking spiritual benefits without genuine devotion or self-sacrifice for others.
  • Politics without principle: Engaging in political power games, seeking power for its own sake rather than serving the greater good.
Gandhi believed these sins, left unchecked, would destroy humanity and believed they must be understood "through the heart" to be avoided.

She was treated pretty shabbily by the RF after she had her own MH problems. Hopefully she's laughing wherever she is at all the pictures of her funeral making them uncomfortable!

If I was Charles I'd say don't tell me. If anything goes wrong I wouldn't want fingers being pointed at me for letting the cat out of the bag. If my nieces were upset and blamed me for not letting him know I could hand on heart tell them I didn't know what was about to happen. So I can believe Charles didn't know.

Yes, finally, did take a while though.
I heard one of the victims (bbc news) when Andrew was stripped of title/chucked out that they wish American was treating it as serious as the UK.

Edited

Andrew hasnt been arrested for sex offences. He has been arrested for misconduct in public office , ie: leaking sensitive information
Also, there are 3 million pages in the Epstein files and yet only Andrews name seems to be being bandied about. Where are all the others?

loriat · 20/02/2026 11:21

I think it’s likely that the Palace knew that this was going to happen, without knowing the specifics of when. The Palace would want to protect the King from any accusations of interference in the investigation, and ignorance of the details would help with this.
