Reform wants women barefoot and pregnant

Sweetiedarling7 · 14/02/2026 07:57

Reform candidate Matt Goodwin wants women to have children early in life and introduce extra taxes as punishment for anyone who chooses not to have children.

Misogyny in plain sight.

How long till they ban abortion too?

Women voting Reform may want to consider if they are turkeys voting for christmas.

That's not good but neither is the idea that women feel pressured to have DC and then put them into full time nursery care from very very young ?

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 14/02/2026 08:01

Reform are hateful.

However l wish id had my children earlier. In terms of energy, delivery and longevity l’ve always thought 20’s were the best age.

SalmonOnFinnCrisp · 14/02/2026 08:03

I dont even know where to start with this...

Does it only apply to women?
What about fertility issues?
What if you are gay?
Do you just go in benefits to avoid tax if you cant / dont want to breed?
Do childless men get taxed too???

My parents had kids in their twenties - they were very energetic but financially and emotionally immature. Pros and cons to all options.

MrsBennetsPoorNervesAreBack · 14/02/2026 08:05

I presume that the people who vote for Reform are attracted by the misogyny. As well as the racism, ablism, homophobia etc. Isn't that what they are voting for?

WeepingAngelInTheTardis · 14/02/2026 08:05

Why would anyone want kids after whats been coming out in the epstein files?
That said what about all the childless men are they going to be punished?

Keepingthingsinteresting · 14/02/2026 08:05

It’s abhorrent, they are literally saying if you don’t have kids you are worthless and should be punished by extra taxes. They really hate women and I suppose at least they are being open about it now but it terrifies me. Welcome to Gilead.

I must’ve missed the bit where they had a credible plan to sort all the economic issues that mean many families have to have two full time working parents to get by, or to encourage more men to work part time.

theagreementwas · 14/02/2026 08:09

But don’t they also want to keep the 2 child UC limit and lower minimum wage? The combination of ideas seem a bit contradictory

Surely if you end up being pressured to have children (as reform want to do) this is the outcome.

Apologies if I’ve misunderstood your post but it reads like you think Reforms ideas are the opposite to women being pressured to have DC and put them in nursery.

AtlasPine · 14/02/2026 08:10

I hate how we are sliding backwards and people still support this dangerous, dangerous party.

PinkFrogss · 14/02/2026 08:10

I think anyone who isn’t a rich white British man who doesn’t care about anyone else is a turkey voting for Christmas though

Thisseasonsdiamante · 14/02/2026 08:11

I had children in my twenties and early thirties and I do think it is the right time to be having children biologically. It is still much later than previous generations on average. So I definitely would like to see policies enabling this.

I also think both parents should get a years leave each in their children’s first two years, mothers year 1 and fathers year 2 so children are with both parents in early years Housing and living costs and policies should broadly support this. That’s who I would vote for.

NarnianQueen · 14/02/2026 08:12

I think Rupert Lowe’s new Restore Britain party is going to wipe the floor with Reform tbh

Sadly Reform would prefer to go to a more American working rights system, so you have the kids early but you’re not having the additional maternity and paternity leave.

That’s what your vote is for, rolling back rights we’ve worked very hard to get.

Riddle me this.

How will 1 man in his 20s earning 30k sustain a sahm and feed and clothe 2 small children when a man in his 30s on 60k struggles to do this?

Hint: he cant! They need joint incomes.

Reform are uneducated financial illiterate misogynist and aunt Lydia types.

I was about to write It is all very Gilead.

It is actually quite terrifying how the future could look for girls and women should Reform take power.

These men are very aware of the social shift taking place, where more and more women are choosing to remain single and be child-free. This is simply their incel mentality at play, wanting to bring women back under their control. Anyone who thinks the opposite is a fool.

Staggered over 30% think YABU OP.

Jeez, there's another one?

So we now have Reform, Restore Britain and Advance UK? Hopefully all of the far right parties will end up collapsing because all of their infighting will split the vote.

Allthatwegotisthispalebluedot · 14/02/2026 08:20

Remember when he ‘ate’ his book on TV because of his incorrect political predictions?

The man is a fucking clown. I’m actually hoping reform keep this up for the next couple of years because what’s that old saying about rope and hanging yourself?

WelshRabBite · 14/02/2026 08:22

Reform want conflicting things.

They hate “benefit scroungers” and yet want women to have DC in their 20s, which statistically means they’re more likely to need/receive benefits.

They want women to breed young (like cattle), so they can then berate her for taking money from the state to help raise that child, knowing she didn’t have the time to build her career to a level that would support a child.

Also, divorce rates lower the older you get, so essentially you’ll end up with a lot of young single mums, which is another sector Reform voters hate.

They want women to breed young but be hated for it.

Quite, not to mention women who may have wanted children but never met a man who felt the same way and families who may have tragically suffered miscarriages or still births.

Me too. His party has much better policies, and isn’t hypocritical.

IveStillNotGotThisFiguredOut · 14/02/2026 08:26

I like to hear someone say they are supporting women having children in their 20s, sometimes people are postponing for financial reasons.
I suppose a government can’t really practically support this.

It’s reform they’ll probably fine women who miscarry / have a termination
