I’ve read several threads full of hate filled anti trans ideology diatribes with zero thoughts for the victims, Canadians upset asking for some empathy and making it clear they as a nation just need to grieve, anti trans hate speech….

Jumping on a human tragedy to push your extremist agenda whilst MN just sits back and lets it happen on multiple threads is as low as you can get.

One wonders how low MN is going to sink. It’s such an unpleasant place now. I guess all HQ cares about now is getting a good price in the sell off.

Been here 22 years so think I can keep my account whilst calling out the depths MN is sinking to thanks.

It’s a mental health catastrophe that isn’t being addressed and these events are the outcomes.

I’m a gender critic but I have to agree that there has been too much focus on the criminal and not enough on the victims.

Wanting the truth to be acknowledged is not 'anti-trans'.
Pointing out these kids and teenagers need mental health support and to not be lied to, is not 'anti-trans'.
Wanting people not to die, or have their bodies and minds wrecked is not 'anti-trans'.

So many threads on this site where someone will jump in with some barely relevant or tenuously connected anti-trans hate.

I'd call myself gender critical, but I find the hate and vitriol from some users incredibly off-putting.

I know it’s just awful.

Posters can always start their own thread about the victims if they want to.
Just because a thread is focused on the perpetrator doesn't mean that posters aren't massively sympathetic to the victims.

YANBU - some of the threads yesterday were appalling. It’s so crass.

A trans identified male shot and killed 10 people at his home and a school. He’s certainly not the first “trans” young person to do that and I doubt he’ll be the last. Huge red flags on his social media. It’s a real concern.

Maybe you should direct your ire at the men who commit these crimes instead of berating women for standing up for our right not to be lumped in with ultra-violent men?

IF the shooter hadn’t killed himself a fully accurate description is vital.
IF after killing at the high school HE then took off for Prince George (nearest city BTW) saying M-F transgender with brown hair wearing a dress would help capture him. Female in a dress conjures up a very different mental picture to guy in a dress.
Please never forget this is a male crime against women and children.

Agree OP. In the last twenty years this has become a very different place but then so has society in general.
It is impossible to have a genuine and nuanced debate about virtually anything in the current climate.
