Anonymous valentines card from a woman in my street

I’ve just received an anonymous valentines card from a woman in my street. The card had a stamp on it and it said “The woman within” and my address! The card mentions her seeing me walking to my bus and how she waits for her husband and kids to go out and…well! She says she’s bisexual and she goes into detail about what she wants to do to me…omg!

The card was posted first class, why pay for a stamp lol. Could this be a hoax? It was quite specific about seeing me walking to my bus.

I’m separated from my ex - could it be him or his family playing a prank? Or do I have a randy, bisexual neighbour??

I dunno what to think! 🙈

Either a prank or she didn't want to be seen posting it. If it's real I would be creeped out by it. Be on the lookout when you leave the house for this love sick woman spying on you.😂😂😂

I sent my boyfriend I was seeing when I was a teenager a valentine's card with a load of sexual rhymes in. Though I wouldn't have sent it as an adult. So it might not have necessarily been a man who sent it.

Mistyglade · 12/02/2026 00:49

I wish someone would send me a valentines card, prank or no prank.

Why would someone in your street post a card with a stamp on it?

To avoid being seen putting it through the letterbox?

You have the most powerful, intuitive tool that any of us have ever seen in your hand.

Take a picture, chuck it at Chat GPT and tell it to analyze the handwriting, linguistics and everything else to make a reasonable prediction of the sex of the writer. Plus any other insights it can gain.

Tamtim · 12/02/2026 00:56

Keep hold of it in case it escalates. People are such creeps. No one wants that.

Did you get all smug and happy when you posted that? When its very clear what the post meant and had been buggered up by auto correct?

Get a life.

Quickchangenow · 12/02/2026 01:02

It’s obviously a sick joke

EmeraldShamrock000 · 12/02/2026 01:04

A different neighbour is taking the piss.
I would ask her if she sent it.

Francestein · 12/02/2026 01:04

Any woman would know a butter Willy would be about as useful as a chocolate teapot and a likely candidiasis infection. This was sent by a man.

Why would someone in your street post a card with a stamp on it?

ring doorbells etc would show who it was, but using the postie adds mystery to it

Eddiestrangerthings · 12/02/2026 01:23

TheReaderIs · 12/02/2026 00:15

Yeah it was explicit. On the front it said “knob of butter” with a butter Willy lol. So weird for a woman to send another woman a card with a willy on it! If it had said - I’ve seen you walking to your bus and I want to say you are very cute/pretty that wouldn’t be so bad but it was graphic!

you could always call her bluff and say you have been thinking about x etc and see how it progresses ?

As an English speaker you understood perfectly well so I do believe it is written in English not one of the four other languages I speak. I'm happy to converse in one of those of you wish?

Do you disagree with the sentiment? Do you often send sexual cards to women you don't know?

Have the night you deserve!

DeathStare · 12/02/2026 01:47

Am I the only person who finds this really disturbing? If the card-writer had said they were a man, I suspect there would have been lots of posts saying to notify the police. I don't think that's any different because the card-writer says they are a woman, especially is that unlikely to be true.

Regardless of their sex, this is someone who has felt confident enough to initiate completely unsuggested sexual contact with you with no way of knowing whether you would enjoy this or whether it would terrify you (and doesn't care either way), has been watching you closely enough to know both your routine and where you live, and has gone out of their way to maintain being in control (hiding their identity, not risking putting it through the door themselves).

I'd be logging it with the police

JustAnotherWhinger · 12/02/2026 01:49

I’d say that’s been sent by someone hoping to cause trouble if you say something to said neighbour.

I’d put it in a drawer and say nothing to anyone. Then any further weirdness and it would be fine to consider speaking to the police.

women don’t send sexually graphic cards to their neighbours - they just don’t.

I agree.

It seems to be "well she says she is a woman and I am a woman and I am harmless, so therefore she must be harmless too". Not much critical thinking.

NET145 · 12/02/2026 01:53

Agree it sounds like a man’s doing

"Knob of butter"

Anyone else getting vibes from the 'wedding bad behaviour' thread where the guest popped his penis into a buttered roll and offered it round?

It was almost certainly not from a woman OP. An interesting mystery though. I would keep it as evidence in case it escalates.

Yes! But also reminds me of a line from an R4 comedy "The Castle". One lord is giving another lord sex advice. "Dont forget to use lubricant" "What if I get a knob of butter?" "Give it ten minutes and tell her it has never happened before"

Recommended listen!

Maskirovka

The (Russian) art of (military) deception.

Maybe she was worried getting caught posting it.

TheGreenClarinet · 11/02/2026 23:56

Sounds like your ex playing a prank or some bored local teenagers, I would ignore it.

Teenagers would never pay for a stamp...😁

dreichluver · 12/02/2026 02:33

You do realise it's not from her.

WinnerWinnerChickenDinnner · 12/02/2026 02:51

I think a depraved man sent it.
