Anonymous valentines card from a woman in my street

I’ve just received an anonymous valentines card from a woman in my street. The card had a stamp on it and it said “The woman within” and my address! The card mentions her seeing me walking to my bus and how she waits for her husband and kids to go out and…well! She says she’s bisexual and she goes into detail about what she wants to do to me…omg!

The card was posted first class, why pay for a stamp lol. Could this be a hoax? It was quite specific about seeing me walking to my bus.

I’m separated from my ex - could it be him or his family playing a prank? Or do I have a randy, bisexual neighbour??

I dunno what to think! 🙈

Am I the only person who finds this really disturbing? If the card-writer had said they were a man, I suspect there would have been lots of posts saying to notify the police. I don't think that's any different because the card-writer says they are a woman, especially is that unlikely to be true.

Regardless of their sex, this is someone who has felt confident enough to initiate completely unsuggested sexual contact with you with no way of knowing whether you would enjoy this or whether it would terrify you (and doesn't care either way), has been watching you closely enough to know both your routine and where you live, and has gone out of their way to maintain being in control (hiding their identity, not risking putting it through the door themselves).

I'd be logging it with the police

you’d be mad- man or woman- to log one letter with the police

I feel weirdly over protective of the postie being mixed up in this scandal 😭

earshadow · 12/02/2026 05:19

this is the second post I have read mentioning willies and butter. What is going on??!’ 🤦‍♀️

Chuck it in the bin and forget about it.

Don’t put it in the bin. Put it up on the mantelpiece, then take a photo and put it in the family group chat, and call them all losers in comparison!

Zanatdy · 12/02/2026 05:54

Normal to post via stamp as they won’t want to be seen posting it through your letterbox. Very exciting! Haha.

bronnibro · 12/02/2026 06:14

Why has no one said teens, my bet is it's likely teen boys who think it's hilarious, if its real

TheReaderIs · 11/02/2026 23:51

Yeah that was my first thought!

Bc they don’t want to be seen posting it on ring doorbell obviously

This would make me feel really uncomfortable

Why would she a) post it with a stamp if she lives in your street and b) send you a Valentine’s card three days before Valentine’s Day?

It’s also really fucking creepy and stalkerish for someone you don’t know to stare at you on your way to work and then send you a sexually explicit card. If the card had said it was from a bloke - especially a married father - people would be rightly accusing him of stalking and sexual harassment.

So yeah, either it’s a weird prank or we’re in Baby Reindeer territory. Or this thread’s bollocks.

A) not wanting to be seen and B) mistrust of the postal system’s ability to deliver on time. These are very very easy questions.

"Knob of butter"

Anyone else getting vibes from the 'wedding bad behaviour' thread where the guest popped his penis into a buttered roll and offered it round?

It was almost certainly not from a woman OP. An interesting mystery though. I would keep it as evidence in case it escalates.

Omg I need to read this thread 🤣

I'd be logging it with the police

I'd love to hear that conversation.

"Hi, police, I'm just calling to log the fact that someone sent me an anonymous valentine" 😂

OriginalSkang · 12/02/2026 06:37

I think this is really creepy, definitely from a man. I wouldn't throw it away in case this stalking escalates

Whoever said to go along with it to see the response is an actual idiot

I wouldn't contact the police at this point, but it's not just an anonymous valentine. It's an explicit message from someone who knows where the OP lives and has been watching them go about their daily life

Its threatening, not funny

SlinkyMal · 12/02/2026 06:48

The stamp and date make sense but I agree it sounds more like something a man would send, and based on what you’ve said the likely person is your ex or someone connected to him.

you could always call her bluff and say you have been thinking about x etc and see how it progresses ?

And how could she do that when she has no way of communicating that? She doesn't even know who it's from....

Daisywhatsyouranswer · 12/02/2026 07:00

How’s it both anonymous and you know who it’s from?

TheReaderIs · 12/02/2026 07:02

Inside it says -
I am a married female admirer of yours who lives in your street and I would love to make love to you.
I see you often walking to your bus and if my husband is at work and the kids are at school, I often lie on my bed (….explicit content)

I want to £&@! you so very much!

ChristmasFluff · 12/02/2026 07:10

It's your ex. You already have intuited this, so trust yourself.

Keep it hidden away as evidence as this could eb the start of a stalking campaign. Don't ever mention it to him or his family.

Lennonjingles · 12/02/2026 07:11

It’s a bit creepy tbh, but at least it’s not nasty or spiteful.

Would a woman do this?

MyDeftDuck · 12/02/2026 07:14

Save the card in case the matter escalates and you find yourself having to collate evidence of stalking etc. and don’t mention it to anyone……. family, friends, neighbours, work colleagues.
Then put it out of your mind, it can only bother you if you keep dwelling on it.

It might be someone’s idea of a stupid joke and they took the opportunity of Valentines Day to make contact, albeit anonymously. To be honest, the postal system being so crap it’s a wonder it arrived before Halloween, so the sender took a gamble on that for sure!

If you receive any further ‘correspondence’ in the form of cards, letters or even messages on your mobile then save those too. In the event that things do escalate you will need as much evidence as possible to build a case.

I'm not sure why you would mock. This isn't your run of the mill anonymous valentine.

This person is unknown to her, has sent her graphic sexual content about what they want to do to her, and has clearly been watching her to know her routine and knows where she lives, and has gone out of their way to avoid being identified.

That sounds like AGP wording - a man who fantasies that he's a lesbian, usually from watching too much porn.

Are there any men on your street who wear women's clothing?
