Couldn't see a thread

Nancy Guthrie, 84, the mum of a US TV newsreader, is thought to have been kidnapped from her home

Does anyone think this is weird and that there's more to the story?

I believe the ransom deadline has also passed.

I can't imagine how I would feel if this happened to my vulnerable mum. I hope she's found soon

Horrendous.
But at least they know I suppose.
How terribly sad.
I hope they let them know where she is buried but I wouldn't be surprised if they dont' for fear of evidence.
Poor family.

So very sad. And so odd. The kidnappers seem to express genuine remorse in the second note, for example trying to reassure the family there is nothing they (the family) could have done to change the outcome. Yet they were willing to put so many people through so much to make millions of pounds. That's not a crime of desperation so why do it? And why target her? I think it must be someone who knew something of her set up ie someone in her wider circle. Such an awful thing.
