Nancy Guthrie, 84, the mum of a US TV newsreader, is thought to have been kidnapped from her home

Does anyone think this is weird and that there's more to the story?

I believe the ransom deadline has also passed.

I can't imagine how I would feel if this happened to my vulnerable mum. I hope she's found soon

The eyebrows are very distinct. Whoever knows this person will recognise those features. They may release an e fit of what they think the person looks like unmasked

I don’t think it looks like a woman when you see the footage of the person walking around. Their gait and build looks distinctly male to me.

I hope that poor woman is ok.

I don't think that's eyebrows, I think it's a shadow of the cutouts in the Balaclava. It does give the illusion of sculpted brows.

There are quite a few amateur sluths now quoting the following by Arthur Conan Doyle:

After giving this some thought and thinking out of the box (and apologies if I'm going down a rabbit hole) but that image of a masked person at the door - do you think it could be the actual mother and this is an inside job?

Reddit thinks it’s someone called Dominic Evans, a bandmate of the son-in-law. They do look a bit similar…

I've just seen on Reddit that the eyebrows are apparently not eyebrows, it's a lining that forms parts of the mask

I also thought it weird that the church had a full service organised the next morning with a big photo of the poor woman.

I read that the next day she didn't turn up for a church service and that triggered a call to the family not a remembrance service or anything

There's so much speculation flying around Reddit. I saw someone say this morning she hasn't even attended church in person since COVID. She switched up to attending on Zoom.

It really does look like him. Unfortunate if it’s not him. Must be horrific for her other daughter with all this speculation.

Covering the door camera with foliage seems extremely amateurish.
it’s a very peaceful neighbourhood apparently and frankly the statistics of adult kidnapping cases in the US are small.
I hope they find her safely soon .

I have been following this since the get go and whilst I don't know anything about Savannah Guthrie, I believe she is a newsreader so not exactly a multimillionaire. It seems so unusually random to kidnap her mother.

That security camera footage also scared the crap out of me when it popped up on the news earlier too.

i presume the FBI have seen all the security camera footage going as far back as possible in case this person has been to the house unmasked previously - which must be likely
