McDonald’s Adult Happy Meals

To not understand the point in the silly cartoon Friends toys? I thought McDonald’s was trying to cut down on plastic waste? Surely make the kids happy meals better with decent toys rather than the adult ones!

OP posts:

I dong think people eating at Mcdonalds are that concerned about the environment!!!

And that's ok.

You're wrong.

It's a business like any other. I worked there for ten years and saw every sort of customer from total slobs to people who took their plastic drink bottles home to recycle.

Anyahyacinth · 05/02/2026 15:20

McDonald’s is front and centre on the boycott list for multiple harms …wouldn’t touch it

housethatbuiltme · 05/02/2026 15:20

Don't buy it then.

How does something being made available to those that want it even effect you at all?

Thanks for letting me know OP, can't wait to go and grab one....

Same - I'm assuming this is some stealth marketing by McDonald's because I'd not heard of these and am now planning one for Saturday....

HashtagShitShop · 05/02/2026 15:30

Thank you for telling us they're available, had no idea. Would love a chandler or joey especially

TenTenTenAgain · 05/02/2026 15:30

Like a pp , I care very much about our planet. We don't run a car , we recycle, I either make my clothes or buy second hand. We also only do uk holidays.

I do , however , wish to collect the friends figures and have 3 of them so far. They're fun and I like fun things. I hope that's okay.

ClairDeLaLune · 05/02/2026 15:32

It’s a shit place, I hate everything about it. There’s no way they care about he planet, they make tons of waste, which becomes tons of litter, because some of the people that go there are too thick to use a bin.

BillieWiper · 05/02/2026 15:32

It's not aimed at you. It's aimed at people who like McDonald's and also like Friends to the point they would value a plastic figurine of one of the characters.

Presumably if it's unpopular it will be discontinued. Seems unnecessary to be annoyed by it.

ThatNattyPlayer · 05/02/2026 15:34

I got Ross yesterday which is shit as he is my least favourite but he’s still got a home here.

Kingsleadhat · 05/02/2026 15:35

I think if you're worried about the environment/ waste Macdonald's isn't really the place to eat

Reallyneedsaholiday · 05/02/2026 15:36

Right, that's my meals sorted for however long the offer runs!

MsGreying · 05/02/2026 15:37

Thought they looked a bit cute but I don't think I want a McDonalds that badly.

I want a homecooked bacon, cheese, pickle topped quarterpounder burger with a brioche bun toasted with onion rings and chunky chips and some piquant tomato sauce on the side.
But I had that last night for tea so I probably shouldn't have it two nights running. Right?

epstain · 05/02/2026 15:39

MyThreeWords · 05/02/2026 15:15

Think its getting quite bored of us, too, epstain.

I couldn’t care less.

SabreIsMyFave · 05/02/2026 15:50

Wait, what?! They have adult happy meals now?!

Rushes to Maccie D's! >>>>>>> 🏃

Every so often. A nice little bit of joy.

Off yet on topic. Remember how mc Donald’s used to look. So fun and cheerful and now they all look like moody teens. The buildings 🤣 no more soft play inside. No burger stools.

Musicmachine · 05/02/2026 15:55

MyThreeWords · 05/02/2026 15:13

Uck. The phrase Adult Happy Meals just makes me think of adult nappies. I think this must be because they seem to be aimed at giving adults a sickly kind of thrill by infantilising them.

(I mean, obvs most adults using nappies aren't doing it for the thrill, but the guilty-junk-food context of a MacDonalds meal pulls the idea of depraved pleasures to the front of my mind.)

I don't understand your post, do you mean people get some kind of sexual thrill from getting happy meals?

365RubyRed · 05/02/2026 15:57

Best advert ever for Macdonald's adult happy meals, fantastic work OP!!!

Sartre · 05/02/2026 15:58

DH and I were discussing it. Timing is interesting, they’ve waited till January is out of the way and most have quit their resolutions for starters! We were also questioning who they’re marketing this at, whether it’s Gen Z or millennials. As a millennial, I have no interest in plastic toys whatsoever nor Friends for that matter. I never really got the hype, its background TV at best.

TinselAngel · 05/02/2026 15:59

I’d pay extra for a plastic straw instead of the rubbish paper ones.

1000x

I always pour my cup out to a proper one if we have taken the food home. Paper straws are useless.

notcomfortable · 05/02/2026 16:01

There not even happy meals, they are just included with adult meals Hmm

Me and my partner are millennials, we love friends. We both have a friends tattoo and are going to New York to see the friends apartment so the plastic figures are right up our street Grin
Most of our friends (also in their 30s) are delighted to have a friends range because as much as I love the grinch, I just can't get on board with mismatching socks
