Keir starmer is dead in the water

Bertiebiscuit · 04/02/2026 22:21

The UK cannot have a prime minister who gave a plum job to a man when all the time he knew that Mandelson was still close friends with an ex-con who was convicted for trafficking children for sexual abuse. Starmer is destroying the reputation of the UK, he is an embarrassment and shoukd resign, if not the Labour party should demand his resignation.

He’s no worse than previous PMs we’ve had.

But if he was tory would you say that?

Bertiebiscuit · 04/02/2026 23:23

So M P s being best mates with jimmy Saville or gary glitter would have be ok with you?

A prime minister who doesn't care about the trafficking and sexual abuse of women and children? Shames us all

I don't think that's a fair characterisation at all.

There’s scant evidence to support the view that Starmer has enhanced the UK’s reputation over the last 18 months, though it’s a line frequently peddled by the left. The broad consensus from the outside seems to be that he’s a weak leader with no vision or control of his party, and can’t be relied on or trusted.

Proof that foreign (non US) leaders think this please?

Yes!

There is precisely zero possibility that Starmer did not know Mandelsons character. The man was forced to resign from Govt multiple times due to corruption. And his appointment as ambassador to the US wasn t incidental. He was all over this administration and right at the heart of Starmers inner circle.

None of them understand that taking bribes is wrong. They think it s normal. Or at least that they are exempt from the rules that normal people live by. Even now, Raynor still believes she can make a comeback having fiddled her taxes as if she was Mandelsons spiritual successor.

Fingers crossed that Keir is gone by the weekend.

Starmer can't claim not to know his character at all. His nickname is the "Prince of Darkness" because his underhand dealings.

Some very good points here, but if you think the likes of Farage or Kemi are better than Raynor you're in for a nasty shock.

ParmaViolletts · 04/02/2026 23:26

@Doodadidi you are probably correct in terms of name mentioned and other people.
However I think impact comes from his alleged crimes against our country at a time of national and global crisis.

ParmaViolletts · 04/02/2026 23:20

Lols howeevr he wasn't swayed by rich people buying him clothes or footy boxes was he

He took our money.
Oh, and his wife made millions on government contracts with Infosys.
Conflict of interests.. politicians are as corrupt as the day is long.

Please stop fretting just about football, it goes a lot deeper and more corrupt than that.

Machievellian politicians are their uses & can be very effective, that's not necessarily a reason not to employ them

The question is really did Starmer know about the extent of Mandelson's activities and if not, why?

@AlecTrevelyan006 who would be your preferred alternative?

Those hoping for Farage, I wonder if YOU are wondering what interests and commitments £1million pounds a year [including while he has been ‘serving’ as an MP, mind] actually comes with.

It is a reason to vet them carefully.

ParmaViolletts · 04/02/2026 23:29

Yes happy joe it certainly does and it shows how people are and can be so easily corrupted by money in power.

Richi was impervious to that because of his wifes wealth.

Selling out the uk at a time of crisis ....can it get worse and to a sex offender ? Talking money ?

Venicelagoon · 04/02/2026 23:29

Starmer just looks pained....always does when hes lying. Of course he knew Mandelsons backround. MI6 informed him but he chose to ignore the red flags. Like he ignores elderly freezing, the farmers, made wealthy leave the country due to high taxation, put VAT on private education.....goes on and on...plus all tge freebies which as a millionare he should have been able to afford.

You're very selective with the truth.

Precisely, which leads me back to asking if he didn't know, then why not? How were the security services so in the dark?

Prob because of all the cutbacks of the tories! 😁 Everything else was...

ParmaViolletts · 04/02/2026 23:32

@Venicelagoon and he ignores women's issues and doesn't prioritise them. I believe this is why he never took issues around mandelson seriously because he doesnt think they are.
See Rosie dufflied/see what defines a woman /see Asian grooming gangs scandal and so on

I wish they wouid just call an election. I can see the L P going the way of the previous government, one new leader after another and each one being brought down. If Raynor is serious , the reason she left previously will follow her around like a bad smell.
The may council elections will be a bloodbath.
They may as well cut their losses now.

Venicelagoon · 04/02/2026 23:36

Oh yes Parmaviolletts

Very good point.

Forgot about the fact he didnt want review of the grooming gangs.....

It would be something to lay that at their door...

I can see that Mandelson would have been well positioned to be our ambassador to a country as deep in the mire as the US, he clearly had connections with the men of influence and so I can see why Starmer appointed him.

It doesn't ring for me that Starmer would have done so had he known how deep Mandelson got with Epstein because he's been so careful with keeping to the straight & narrow his whole career. Unless we're going to find out that Starmer is as equally corrupt of course!

No ones been able to dig up real dirt on Starmer in spite of trying.
