Is this benefitting her or women in general? I’m really unimpressed

nb: this post is about Emily atack and her latest extremely sexual photos in the press

Why why why!!!!! She’s already successful, lots of money, seemingly intelligent and has a child and partner. Why why why do women keep wanting to come across as sex dolls? I really don’t understand especially as she has spoken about her experience of sexual assault before. Do so many women feel like the most important thing to them in life is still being classed as a ‘wanted, needed by men, sexual being’ above everything else? This can’t be for money purposes.

Is this benefitting her or women in general? I’m really unimpressed

If that's aimed at me I did not mention a sexual assault. I didn't even know she had been the victim of one. Yet again you're adding on things to suit your own narrative.

Are you the OP? No? Then it wasn't aimed at you.

And why are you saying "once again im adding things"? That was my first and only post on here until now. Sounds like you are very confused all round...

Yes of course I do, but I don't think this is an appropriate place to spell it out.

Why? It’s a discussion forum and we’re having a discussion. What would be an appropriate place?

ShakyFridge · 03/02/2026 21:24

SixtySomething · 03/02/2026 20:57

I don’t really think so.

Oh, I do. I'm not surprised you won't voice the opinion.

Why would I want to do that?

I don’t know, you don’t have to 🤷🏻‍♀️, I’m just genuinely interested in your answer and you’re unwilling to give it on the thread so I thought it might be a way around that!

Also 'showcasing'
as in 'katie price showcases her sensational figure, flaunting her stunning midriff and showing her ex what he's missing'

😂 Careful, they will be offering you a job!

ShiftingSand · 03/02/2026 19:51

Sizzling in pvc🙄
Didn’t she complain about all the sexually motivated trolls that wouldn’t leave her alone just a few years ago?

This is what I was alluding to when I mentioned earlier how it’s strange she’s choosing to court sexual attention after making a point of disliking this kind of attention previously

She disliked men sending videos of themselves wanking to her, and being sent sexually abusive messages. Do you think that posing in underwear gives people the right to do those things?

I am speaking as a woman who has more than once encountered unwanted and abusive sexual behaviour from males. This is just how I feel, sorry. It’s not even a clever move from her, it’s crass.

Aside the from weird idea that men cant stop themselves from sending a woman wanking videos if provoked by the sight of her in underwear 🤮 I really dont think Emily Atack or any woman carries the responsibility of 'benefitting women in general'. Who made Emily the woman ambassador???

Over 90% of women have been sexually harassed by men. Myself included- multiple times.

I don’t blame women for that harassment. Why do you? Why do you think it’s acceptable to abuse a woman online for making different choices to you? And also use the sexual harassment she experienced against her?

What you have shared is a marketing campaign for a lingerie brand. A brand that a chosen to use a particular actor and lean into the theme of her most recent TV show. You only know about this campaign because a tabloid newspaper has chosen to share it. You think that gives you the right to instigate a personal attack on this woman using her previous sexual harassment incidents as a stick to beat her with. It’s disgusting and you should be embarrassed.

I’ve had at least two emails today from lingerie companies featuring models posing in a similar way to EA. Those pictures also feature on the company social media. Are you going to launch a personal attack on those models too? Or is it only people you clearly dislike who deserve that?

justsoveryodd · 03/02/2026 23:43

@HighLadyofTheNightCourt you are talking about why is it acceptable to abuse a woman online for making different choices to you...yet you have consistently abused others on this thread for having a different opinion from yourself. Think on .

I can't see poster abusing anyone, she just disagree with your victim shaming

Well known lesbian dresses for men to look at her 🤣🤣🤣

I did see the irony in that myself! I am also astounded by the number of pposters on this thread, who obviously have internet access and therefore are presumably not living in a cave somewhere, who claim to have never heard of one of the biggest pop stars in the world. They are definitely missing out on something special though as she is brilliant!
However, as a previous poster pointed out, nobody over the age of thirty cares about new pop music, so I guess I am the deviant for still listening to contemporary chart music despite being a withered old crone in my late thirties!

Please show me where I have abused people on this thread? All I have done is called out misogyny, victim blaming and slut shaming.

Disagreeing with you isn’t abuse. On the other hand, Starting a thread about a named (and pictured) individual with the sole purpose of creating a pile on about her choices and blame her for any sexual abuse she receives most definitely is.

There is this weird sense of superiority and pride amongst some Mumsnetters about the fact that they are far too busy, important and intellectual to have any idea about modern popular culture. It’s so weird because they obviously can read and have access to the internet (by virtue of them posting on MN), many have children who are interested in popular culture, and generally being totally ignorant about what’s going on around you isn’t really something to shout about.

You claim you have been abused on this thread.

So you need to remove yourself from this thread.
Actually best if you remove yourself from MN.
Maybe get rid of your internet access.

Because the rationale is that to return to the thread having being abused is to invite more abuse - which would then be your fault.

Am I doing it right?

Or is a better response that the responsibility for abuse lies with those dishing it out, not those on the receiving end?

shhblackbag · 04/02/2026 08:39

Come on women, move past the obsession of sex

Get over yourself and stop lecturing women.

Very well put, I couldn't agree more. I observe a similar mind-set in the type of people who comment "Who?" or "Never heard of them." under online obituaries of famous people. If they were genuinely curious about ehe subject of the article and really never had heard of them, they could actually read the article, which would enlighten them. So, one can only deduce that their posts are meant to imply their intellectual superiority to being aware of trivial pop culture personalities.

Agree. However, Gen Z also take the “none of your business” approach. Difficult to engage with them in any type of discussion without being cancelled 😞
