Do friends of rich people have no shame?

Reading about the Epstein files, the first thing that struck me was the awful photo of Andrew kneeling over what looks like a very young woman, looking extremely pervy.

The second thing was the emails from people like Fergie and Peter Madelson's husband asking for money. "I need 20 grand for rent, today." "I need 10 grand for an osteopath course." Have they no shame whatsoever? Surely if you're friends with a rich person, you're very careful not to mention financial needs so they don't think you're only after their cash? Let alone actually ask for handouts!

I’d feel like a pervert if I told you where to look on the photo so I’m not going to.

The items are there though - in plain view.

If it was plain view the tabloids would be all over that detail. I’ve looked again. Can’t see anything

Then it must be many other people here who are seeing things. Or you are deliberately being contrary.

Have a nice evening.

No I’m not trying to be contrary sorry if it came across that way. I genuinely can’t see what you are on about .

peanutbuttertoasty · 02/02/2026 18:12

I can’t see it either

People see what they want to see. No need for the photo to be of them naked, Andrew with dildo in hand, it’s more titillating to imagine it. That’s precisely why the media is all over this - not because of genuine concern for powerless, young, expendable women, but because it’s great clickbait for people who enjoy moral outrage. It’s even been carefully contained to those who had already been painted as pantomime villains of some sort - eg Fergie the toe-sucker, Andrew the sex pest, Mandelson the “prince of darkness.” This way, we can have a good clear out of the dispensable and already dead, give the people their pantomime villains, and leave the genuinely powerful in situ.

I'd be interested to know whether there are Americans getting the same kind of heat in the US as the Brits are getting here. There's Trump of course, but he's shameless enough to openly say that he's being redacted from the files and ruthless enough to destroy NATO to divert attention from the story, not to mention suing anyone who so much as mentions his name in relation to Epstein.

What crime would he be in prison for?

Participating in trafficking a minor for prostitution, sexual assault of a minor, sexual assault, modern day slavery, corruption... The criminal investigation needs to be reopened.

As for Mandelson, he's nothing short of a traitor and I hope they throw the book at him.

They are shameless.
They are equally perverted or paedophilic themselves.
Many folks have zero morals and see nothing wrong with underage sex or other debauchery.
They are greedy enough to turn a blind eye to anything, if it means they can collect.
They are as exploitative as the exploiter, who they know will happily buy their collusion...

basically, as all rich have always been, from the dawn of time
Christianity is the only thing that put women to move secure position, elevating the role of the woman to be one wife to one man....see what happened to women, girls and boys in ancient times, all the way to even Victorian times where little girls were prostituted to the rich in London

nothing new under the sun. Aristocracy , not really. The scum of the earth

Crystalovertherainbow · 02/02/2026 19:16

we are only seeing now some efforts to bring in justice and morals because society evolved a bit. But keep looking, Trump and all other men involved do everything possible to just tell us all to shut up, because cannot be real, because you see, the rich are intouchable

People who don't have the cash to support the lifestyle they feel entitled to are always on the look out for a freebie. Although this is bigger, with the number of people involved and extent of corruption, the cash for questions/Mohammed Al Fayed scandal claimed a few scalps who were happy to accept brown envelopes stuffed with cash and a free stay at the Paris Ritz. DH and I were just reminiscing last night on Jonathon Aitken and his trusty sword of truth.

"AI Overview

In April 1995, Conservative Cabinet minister Jonathan Aitken famously vowed to fight "the cancer of bent and twisted journalism" with "the simple sword of truth and the trusty shield of British fair play"
. This phrase was used to declare his libel lawsuit against The Guardian and World in Action.
The, "sword of truth" was, however, quickly cast aside when it was proven he lied regarding who paid his hotel bill at the Paris Ritz. The case collapsed in 1997, leading to his downfall, including:
Conviction: Pleading guilty to perjury and perverting the course of justice in 1999.
Imprisonment: Serving a seven-month prison sentence.
Bankruptcy: Being forced into bankruptcy following the legal defeat.
The phrase became a symbol of irony, as Aitken was, as one report stated, "impaled on" the very sword he unsheathed. "

I miss the days when one had to wait for the morning newspaper to get the latest scandal, especially on Sundays. I had friends to stay when the cash for questions broke and we bought all the papers and poured over the story. Then headed to the pub for more discussions. So much more sociable than sitting glued to one's phone for the latest update. I digress.

I also find the tone of some of the emails bizarre - all “you’re my best friend ever” “what a super duper chap you are (even though you’ve just been released from prison for unspeakable behaviour”
Who writes shit like that to friends? It’s vomit inducing.

Fergie might have slept with him few times and founds him irresistible

So pissed off with Labour right now. Oh so moralistic. Oh so judgey. But any occasion to get their grabby, grubby little hands on someone else’s money and they’re right in there. They disgust me. (I am - was - a Labour voter)

You can’t judge the whole Labour Party by Peter Mandleson.

Well he has been up to his neck in the last Labour government and this one so - you can form some ideas about their ethics.

It is NOT Andy pandy that Fergie finds irresistible it IS the attention that comes WITH Andy pandy that Fergie IS / WAS drawn to - picture in the paper ...

I think the pp is alluding to SF having sex with Epstein.

You 100% can. He’s been running it from behind since the Kinnock years.
All of the faction around Starmer are his people.
Labour were happy to boot out Corbyn (who Mandelson orchestrated all the smears on) but wouldn’t have even booted Mandelson out over this- he resigned.
And he will still have Morgan McSweeney and Wes Streeting on speed dial even now. And those not in his faction are petrified of him.
He will take Starmer down with him as he goes.
He’s been fully and publicly egregious for about 40 years and no one in Labour ever really wanted to stop him or he’d never have been allowed back after his first disgrace.
He is the kind of traitor who makes me wish the Tower of London still housed them.

I don’t think this is just limited to Labour. Look at Michelle Mone getting her grubby hands on all that public money £203 million and not giving it back (firm in liquidation). Plenty of grifters about in Politics.

EsmaCannonball · 02/02/2026 23:59

The poor, working classes and disabled are endlessly shamed for taking any benefits, free school meals, mobility cars and so on, whereas the rich inhabit a world of endless favours, string-pulling, nepotism and networking and yet somehow manage to convince the world they've succeeded on talent, hard work and self-reliance alone. They seem completely unabashed about having their hands out for freebies all through life; and, of course, the less you need, the more people are willing to give you. It's just so odious that Mandelson and Fergie would rather grease up a paedophile than buy a smaller house.

mathanxiety · 03/02/2026 00:24

I think Epstein was more than happy to have people indebted to him.

Excellent post. Well said.

Old boy and rich people networks are odious.

ThejustbrothersCarlenaNSoul · 03/02/2026 01:08

@user1471538283 and a working moral compass which these people are sorely lacking.

ThejustbrothersCarlenaNSoul · 03/02/2026 01:11

mathanxiety · 03/02/2026 00:24

I think Epstein was more than happy to have people indebted to him.

Or to pass on to his paymasters with whatever footage that could cause potentially the most damage to individuals.
Perfect blackmail material.
