Holocaust memorial day.

I will light a candle tonight and hope others might do too.

Silent remembrance.

I have. For my grandfather who came on the kindertransport age 9 and for my grandmother who survived Belsen. May their memories be a blessing. Baruch Dayan Ha’emet

I used to work at the Imperial War Museum and spent many hours in the Holocaust exhibition. The pictures, film footage and survivor testimonials have stuck with me ever since.
Light in the darkness tonight.

CollieModdle · 28/01/2026 00:11

My candle was for my 4 cousins who would not exist had their mother not come out on Kindertransport.

Also for the kin of my grandmother’s family: Roma.

Love and light to all.

PullTheBricksDown · 28/01/2026 00:33

🕯lit ours too. Never forget.

Thank you for this. I forgot to light a candle, but was just looking to see if I could light a virtual candle online and this website came up: https://www.illuminatethepast.org/candle/536c5d3b-74c0-4610-b301-540b70964a6e.

Many thanks for sharing ❤️

I have visited that site this morning. How lovely, you can light a candle in remembrance of an individual.

My personal remembrance was for:

Regina Heitlerova
of blessed memory
Born 1864 in unknown place,
Regina was killed in the Holocaust at the approximate age of 79
