So Fat Tony claimed in an interview that Marc Anthony started his evening set on the wedding night, he called Brooklyn up to the stage, Brooklyn goes up on stage. Then Marc Anthony ( who is a good friend of the Beckhams, he is godfather to Cruz and harper) said: And now for his partner, the most beautiful woman in the room…Victoria. Victoria then hops up onstage.
Everyone, - including Brooklyn (as he says on his statement) thought it was Nicola he would be dancing with and who was being described as the most beautiful woman in the room. Nicola, the bride, then storms out of the room in tears- leaving Brooklyn on stage with his mum who ignores Nicola leaving and carrys on dancing with him. Marc Anthony was all telling Brooklyn to put his hands on his mums waist etc whilst this is all ongoing.
Wow.

Fat Tony said it was the talk of the brunch the next day, which hardly anyone involved in said scenario showed up at.

It's a saying. Of course there is only one absolute truth. The trouble for the rest of us is working out who is telling it. The boundaries between truth, belief and mere opinion are easily blurred in the telling.

Like that cartoon of two people standing either side of a giant number 9 (or perhaps it's an upside down 6) painted on the floor, and arguing about whether it's a 9 or a 6, depending on which end they are viewing it from.

It could be argued that they are both right. All we know is that at least one of them is right, but the other has a pretty strong case for feeling they are also right, even if actually, they are wrong.

Whereas the people standing on the sidelines and looking at the number side-on are going to say 'well it could be either a 6 or a 9, it's impossible to say for sure.'

I don't think it matters who wrote it, she probably helped him but it's defintely his sentiment.

Hard agree with all the fellow posters who have gone NC with parents, it's not easy and hardly ever to do with one specific thing or person. My DH was really close my late MIL and wild horses would not have broken up their relationship because she was a wonderful mother and alway put him and his siblings first.

A gracious person would’ve taken the mic and thanked him before saying he bride and groom should have the first dance.

It was a set up.

I’d not be thrilled but I’d have had a chat with VB & the DJ perhaps. I’d be thrilled with a Valentino gown, to marry man I loved & have dear friends & family on my big day. They’d all have my back - not VBs- & find the funny side in time.

By God if this was worst event in my life to date I’d be thanking lucky stars!

It's likely there was tension before the actual wedding day. It seems Victoria and Nicola do not get on, that is clear to see. Where tension already exists, seemingly 'small' things can become magnified - so if Victoria is known for wanting to be centre of attention, or attempting control having her children and their partners playing the part for the brand - then I can see how this would have been a stand out point of the day in the brides mind.

She likely is absolutely spoiled and maying vying for control with Victoria, but it was her wedding day...

You’re right of course but some - IMO - are increasingly losing sight of the objective truth & pushing their opinion as being more valid & important.

Agree & the leaked wedding texts show NP wanting VB out of planning loop & a really clueless BB caught in middle.

You are assuming a hell of a lot. Victoria can't help it if her son picked a fuckwit to perform at his wedding. A fuckwit who clearly wasn't briefed. I find all big weddings pretentious BTW.

I agree. It's a really basic comment. Can he hand back the trauma along with the money? No.
I wish we were like the french, they aren't allowed to cut children out of wills. It's abominable that parents can wield that stick..and abuse their children one last time from beyond the grave.
Imagine being scapegoated and emotionally abused by your parents, and then they financially abuse you for daring to stand up for them.
Parent's money should be equally split between any children they have birthed or adopted, after they die. It's the fairway way to do it.

Only that D&V have chosen to sell their kids out since the moment they were born, when they didn’t have to.

I doubt D&V will say anything. They'll be waiting for it all to go quiet. If BB keeps saying more then at that point possibly they will say something along the lines of the recollections may vary lime that the Royals did.

As for what I think. I think that BB is being a spoilt baby, possibly led by the Peltz family.

I DO believe what he says and I do believe that he feels hard done by. I believe that D&V probably haven’t been great, certainly not the perfect family that they make themselves out to be. They have their issues definitely. The cheating rumours, VB with her eating disorder. I can believe that they upset BB and NP at the wedding and around their relationship and the arrangements.

However, what family is perfect?

I don’t think that a lot of these celebs understand their privilege. They don’t know what it’s like to face real world problems. So they throw their toys out of the pram when someone upsets them.

These type of issues should be sorted out privately imo. Because you can’t really go back once you go nuclear like he has.

Marc Anthony's set didn't start until 11pm, long after those dances. And it was for the first song of his set that he invited Brooklyn, and then Victoria, up on to the stage, and instructed them in how to dance salsa, and when he seems to have made his comment about Victoria being the most beautiful woman in the room. Given that the occasion was a wedding, it was a dumb-arse thing for him to have said about anyone but the bride, and that's entirely on him, not VB.

The timeline of events can be followed in the Vogue mag account of the day – which it's guaranteed will have been signed off by the couple, as it's an interview for which Vogue will have paid the couple to do. BB and NP's approval of the copy will have been written into the deal.

My dad gave me my flat deposit.

I’m NC with him now.

I refused that money for a long time until it was pointed out that if I didn’t take it, he would spend it on alcohol or his money grabbing wife and her kids (they got a lot more anyway).

It will never make up for the damage to my MH from years of physical and mental abuse, but at least I live in a modest stable home and now so do my children. I’ve developed high level autoimmune illnesses throughout my adult life which I’m convinced are linked to living under high stress for my first 18 years. Thankfully I can work part time and claim nothing as my housing situation is secure.

People can judge away and call me a petty gold digger all they like. They have no idea what it’s like to have parents like this

I’d calmly tell them how I felt & let them know they’d overstepped & behaved inappropriately if I felt they had.

Is it poss NP had really pissed the DJ/‘team’ off? Either way, it’s her day, but I recall what make-up artist said about her being worst ever encountered.

NP poss decided she’d replay the whole event her way in a renewal.
