Women and anyone with a cervix is written in my weekly magazine. What absolute rubbish is this? It gives me the rage.

People who identify as women have been respected by being addressed directly. Non binary people and transmen have been respected by being addressed too.

Are you only happy if the world pretends that people with cervixes that don't identify as women just don't exist? Or would you rather those people not be offered the appropriate health care? They deserve to get cancer then?

grow up

It's othering language as though women only consisted of body parts. Women covers the matter entirely, only women have a cervix and someone with a cervix is a woman.

Trans men .

Mentally unstable women then.

If you don't want to be bothered with gender wars, then don't be bothered. Why go out of your way to be bothered by being put off by something which has no consequences to you personally?

Gender wars have to do with all women personally. They are a misogynistic attack on women's rights.

They deserve to have help with their mental health issues as well, and pandering to them with 'inclusive' language that pretends they are men but with a cervix where women only have one does not help them.

BIossomtoes · 24/01/2026 18:48

How do you know what helps them? Do you not think describing them as mentally unstable is somewhat mysogynist?

If you read my posts you'd see they did tell me. Of course id just had an operation so maybe not that alert. Irrelevant if you are for an accurate statement. Only women have a cervix. Some women have a cervix. Both are accurate.

So the added 'and anyone with a cervix' is complete nonsense?

Why are you addressing it to me? Please address this to the poster I was replying to who doesn’t want to bother with gender wars.

It is inclusive to those people as it also says “women”.

No, as I said, it’s not inclusive to those who understand ‘women’ but not the rest, and would think, quite understandably, that women and anyone with a cervix means women and some other group. Another group than women is likely to mean men. In other words, they could be put off by thinking this is a mixed-sex service.

So woman means adult human female, as those are the only people who would need a cervical smear, so therefore excluding those males claiming a trans identity. Gotcha.

Oops. Sorry. Quoted wrong person!

Just as much as women. Women with a cervix is correct. Not sure why it is so hard for people to understand that not all women have a cervix and if they don't they don't need cervical screening. If you want accuracy you can't just pick which bits you want to be accurate about.

I wonder why so many can see only women can have a cervix but can't accept that not all women do.

To be clear I no longer have a cervix, I dont need cervical screening, I am still. woman.

I think you think people with English as a second language are thick. They really aren’t.

No, I think it's accurate. Particularly when looking at the co-existing MH issues that present alongside the desire to, and belief that you can opt out of your sex class by altering your appearance.
